“Great Location”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

Just walk out the front door and into the old part of the city. Owner is very friendly and gives great advice (and a map). He gave us great directions to get off on the right food in a crazy city. Restaurant on the roof is really nice and peaceful, though on the more expensive side. Their wine from Volubilus is great. Room was very clean. Staff is attentive. Breakfast was filling.

Stayed here recently for five nights and the service was faultless. A lovely warm welcome with tea and biscuits on arrival which was needed after a long journey. Great advice from our host on how to navigate the medina and what to see and do. Ate in the restaurant for 3 nights (very unusual for us to eat in the same place more than once), the Moroccan food and wine were delicious. It's also a great location as you are in the Medina but can get dropped by taxi/car at the door.

Reibel and his excellent team really do all they can to make your stay enjoyable. Can't recommend it enough.

The Riad Andalib was recommended to me by a friend and I read the reviews before going. When you read so many good reviews you wonder whether the proprietor has a big family who write reviews for him but in this case they are definitely true. The welcome was genuinely warm and the staff were clearly happy to work there and happy to help. We have stayed in other Riads in Fes where the waiters etc were very much staff members but here they are clearly a team. If you take along young children don't be shocked when the waitresses kiss them each morning. embrace it for what it is, genuine friendliness and warmth. We travelled the city and it was a regular occurrence that our 8 year old daughter was kissed by other girls and women as a greeting. A bit of a shock at first but a sign of the warmth of the welcome. We cannot speak too highly of Reibal Idrissi and his team. They attended to our every need and the room and Riad were superb. You can see the attention to detail and effort put into restoring it to its current glory. They even got up at 5am to serve us breakfast in time to get our flight home. If you are going to Fes, you should stay here, it is as simple as that. It is also accessible by taxi and right on the doorstep of the medina so ideally situated. Thank you for a truly memorable long weekend.

I chose Riad Andalib on account of the stellar reviews, and they were all perfectly correct. I run a resort hotel myself and I was impressed at the genuine care and hospitality that was given by all to all! Come as a guest, but you leave as a friend. The food was abundant and very tasty, after a meal here, there was just not a reason to have another and then another. The included breakfast is such that we then did not want for lunch! The rooms are large and fully equipped, and the peacefulness and comfortable bedding make for a perfectly reviving sleep.
We will long remember our short but delightful stay!

My friend and I stayed at this Riad for 2 nights. Upon arrival Reibel, the proprietor welcomed us and told us everything we needed to know about Fes. He treated us like family (and not the overbearing kind). He upgraded us to a huge room with 2 double beds, a living room area and large bathroom. The bowl of fruit in the room was a really nice touch. Reibel sat with us to plan out our day in order to maximize our time in Fes. We had some difficulty with our driver and Riebel guided us as to how to deal with him and keep him from acting up. The Riad is in a great location- just outside the medina....and once inside, you feel as though you're in an oasis. Everything is done with taste and caring. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, The breakfast room/dining area is lovely. It was enjoyable just sitting there and relaxing. The patio on the rooftop is lovely as well. I highly recommend a stay at this Riad. While staying there you have the feel of Morocco, with all the comforts of home. I travel often and Reibel was the most gracious, friendly, and helpful proprietor I have ever come across. I highly recommend a stay at this Riad.

Riad Andalib and owner, Reibal, are far more than we imagined. A renovated Moroccan home with wonderful staff and 7 spacious rooms with private bathrooms, a great haven after wandering the medina and visiting Fes sites. On our arrival, we were served Moroccan tea and cookies while Reibal spent a half hour explaining how to navigate the medina, avoid scammers and enjoy Fes. Our quiet, air-conditioned room had windows on the inner courtyard and square. A nice surprise were the fruit and water in our room when we arrived. The included breakfast was generous and more than we could eat (juice, fresh mixed fruit, yogurt, cheese, eggs made to order, a variety of bread and Moroccan crepes, butter, jam, coffee, tea). Dinners were delicious; the tagines were very large, enough for sharing between lighter eaters. Wine, beer and liquor are available. A point to note: meals must be paid in cash (dirhams or euros at a fair exchange rate); the room may be paid by credit card.
As an aside, we encountered a very polished scam on the train from Tangier… a "student" complete with papers from Goldman Sachs in San Francisco where he would soon be interning. Father in the travel business, warnings about corrupt riads arranging high-priced tours, he offered a tour with a "licensed history professor guide" at half the price of tours through riads. A very polished story that took us in. No money changed hands so no harm done (it was actually quite entertaining during the 5 hour train trip) but an eye-opener which we avoided thanks to Reibal and his staff. And we are very grateful for Reibal's advice and intervention.

Room Tip: Our traveling companions found their room noisier than ours on the occasional evening when there wer...

1. Special thanks go the owner, Mr. Reibal Idrissi. His personal touch and care transform the experience not only on the grounds of Riad, but in Fez in general. Excellent advise about the city, cultural and historic insights and genuine interest in his guests. Rarely you see such an engaging host!
2. Riad's location. We arrived with the car and considering that Medina is a very difficult place to navigate with a vehicle, we found Riad's location very convenient as a guarded parking is a several minute walk away. Most importantly, Riad is in Medina - perfect location to explore all of the major sights and corners of this unique place.
3. Riad's team - very discreet, friendly and professional.
4. Riad per se. Spacious rooms, beautiful patio. The terrace is however my favourite.
5. Food - we had most of our dinners here. Excellent local cousine in a beautiful setting.
