Riad Dar Guennoun was a great start and one of the highlights in our Morocco trip. It is beautiful and its service quality was excellent. Like many reviews have mentioned, the host and staff would go out of their way to have your requests made. The breakfast and dinner were the best we had during our trip. We had tried many tagine at different places including those food stalls in Marrakesh. None could match. Plus, the dining experience on the roof top is hard to beat.

The location is excellent to explore the medina which is one unique and interesting place. We highly recommend this Riad and really wish we could go back again.

The Riad is a bit difficult to find. Luckily we had GPS which guided us to a dead end where the parking lot is. Parking is 20 dh per day paid to a parking attendant at the lot. Pay attention to the sign of the riad at the entrance of alley. The riad is two short blocks away.

Stayed here for a few nights in September last year, and would now never stay anywhere else in Fez. This was part of a trip around Morocco and out of the 5 Riad's we stayed in, which were all very good, this was still easily the best. The Riad is immaculate and you definitely feel the wow factor when you step in, and this is even before you see the suites! It also has a rooftop terrace with beautiful views across the Medina. It's location is ideal, right in the centre of everything. The hospitality shown by Miriam and Said was amazing, they made us feel right at home, and were always there for advice and ideas, making sure we made the best of our stay in Fez. Could not recommend this Riad more!

May 10-15 we stayed at the Riad Dar Guennoun in Fes. Our time there was our favorite in the two weeks we spent in Morocco! The staff is so kind go the extra mile in every way to make you feel at home and welcome. Don't worry about finding restaurants in the area, there is a beautiful terrace on roof of the Riad, you can dine there or in the elegant open area on the main floor. The food/cooking is fantastic! Said and his helpers in the kitchen will make eggs to order, or any other special requests you may have. Some days we wanted a mid day snack, a bottle of wine or beer.. all cheerfully made and served - we just felt that in their hearts they want you to enjoy your whole experience there. At the end when we settled our food bill we were pleasantly surprised by
how reasonable everything was that we ordered. Words or pictures can't adequately describe the beauty of the inside, meticulous designs of tile mosaic cover every wall and much of the furniture. You feel like you are gracing the halls of a 17th century palace, the rooms are very clean and comfortable with air conditioning which my husbanded certainly loved! We would like to thank Miriam, her Father (owner), Siad and the entire staff for a very
special time in Fes!!! We were able to park our rental car in the back area for our 5 days there, be prepared to pay the parking attending upon leaving the lot about 20 dirhams per day ($2.50 per day).

We stayed 4 nights in this riad, our first experience in Morocco. Because of the original elements in the riad, you feel directly in a different culture and environment. To the center is a close walk. When you arrive you think " what the hell is this? But like all over Morocco if you entered the front door its nice and clean. We had also a few times diner in the riad, also superb. The only thing that maybe could better are the facilities on the roof, better furniture to spend some time there and catch some sun.

I had the "wow " factor when I opened the door for our suite room. Traditional , with huge oversized king bed and space space space... Typical Moroccan decor, beautiful tiles, rugs and ambiance.
Close to all the activity of Fes. Host ( half Australian) was very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was a delight .
Do take note, stairways narrow and several floors up. Host and help make it all very easy.
Breakfast was excellent.

Room Tip: Suite is lovely.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was great - the bed and pillows were comfortable, there was adequate and comfortable seating in the room, and sufficient wardrobe and surface space to unpack bags without losing track of things. The bathroom was large and clean and the shower was fantastic - excellent water pressure. The rooftop terrace is also pleasant, but the weather in the evening was a little too chilly to make frequent use of it.
We ate there on all three evenings, which was probably a mistake, but there were no particularly inviting restaurants in the vicinity of the riad. The food was certainly good, but perhaps a little overpriced.
Service was excellent and the staff were generally helpful.
