We stayed at this riad for three nights while in Fez and had nothing but a wonderful time. The rooms were beautiful, clean and modern. The food and wine was delicious, the courtyard so relaxing and even used the pool. Best of all was the service. Michael was wonderful, you truly felt like you were in his home. Everyone that worked here made you feel so special and taken care of...would recommend staying here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a find, we absolutely enjoyed the tremendous hospitality extended to us by host Michel. The Riad and our room was very authentic, in keeping with the look and feel of Morocco as was the excellent food and fine wine. It's hard to believe the Raid sits in the heart of the hustle and bustle on the old Medina, it's so very peaceful. We will certainly be recommending this place to our family and friends. One consideration for Michel is the internet signal was not always that strong which is a must when traveling these days. Full marks for everything else!

We stayed here as a family. We stayed for 3 nights and then 2 nights. This ryad is so peaceful and beautiful you never want to leave. It is right in the middle of the most magical medina and has a lovely courtyard with a very relaxing pool. We ate here twice and I would thoroughly recommend doing so. The slow braised lamb was to die for. Breakfast were just as delicious.
Our room both stays was The Grenadine and was extremely comfortable. The bed was great and our step down shower made the bathroom feel very opulent. Having a staircase and an extra sitting room was lovely. Our adult kids stayed in The Clementine room and The Capucine room. Both were lovely, comfortable and they loved the balconies.
Our thanks to Michel and all the staff. Superb hospitality. Michel's recommendation of Kamal as a guide to the Fes medina was excellent. We would fully suggest a guided tour with Kamal.

We very highly recommend this Riad. The owner/operator is a Frenchman with an excellent wine cellar for guests to access and a highly talented chef. We not only enjoyed the breakfasts included in the board, but we also enjoyed two dinners at the Riad Salama, and were all extremely pleased with the dining experience. Michel and his staff provided the all around excellent experience that surpassed our expectations on every count. The rooms were all different and stunning - well appointed with traditional décor and high quality bedding and excellent bathroom facilities. The location was perfect for exploring the city and we would stay there again without hesitation.

Room Tip: Each room is beautiful - our group rented five rooms in total. Each was different and each wonderfu...

My husband booked this ryad as part of my birthday celebrations and I had left all the planning up to him, this was by far my favorite experience out the ryads we stayed at during our 10 day trip to Morocco, truly magnificent! From the moment the door opened from the street we were greeted by the owner Michel, who is a wonderful host, we were treated like true friends. The ryad is perfect in every way, situated in a very central location just off the main thoroughfare with useful signs leading you the way. We ate at the ryad and though there is a "set" menu Michel asked us what we would like and my husband was able to sample a veal tagine, something he had not had before and wonderful desserts, nothing is too much trouble. The ambiance at dinner was delightful as on both evenings we chatted with other guests sharing tips for visits and congratulating ourselves in finding this gem. Michel and his staff go the extra mile to make your stay memorable, our room was lovely with a balcony overlooking the garden. On our departure we had a very early flight and Michel organised a taxi for us and we had coffee and croissants served to us at 5.15 in the morning which was very thoughtful. We don't often return to places we have stayed at because we like to visit new places but we will certainly make an exception here and are already planning our return.

Room Tip: Choose one on the first floor with a balcony over the garden if you like sitting in the sun.

Walking back the dark, dismal, and narrow alleyways into the middle of Fez at dusk, we didn't know what to expect when we reached the wooden door. We wouldn't have found it, had we not had our driver with us, either! Once we were greeted by Michel, the proprietor of the Fyad Salama, it all made sense. We sat in the common area, sipping mint tea and having cookies as we filled out the paperwork and got to know Michel. It was coincidental that this Frenchman lived in the US for several years and we soon felt like old friends. He told us the story of how he acquired the ryad and described how he turned the old building into this beautiful place.
Michel walked us across the courtyard garden to the other side, opened the door to our suite for two nights (the Grenadine Suite) and we could hardly believe our eyes! What a gorgeous place he has created! There was a huge king-sized bed in the main room that also included a sitting area complete with desk, chairs, hutch. A staircase took you up to a balcony with another sitting area and beyond that, a niche area with more sitting/sleeping. That bathroom was gigantic, included a separate toilette room, large vanities, and a sunken tub/shower with the most beautiful tile work.
We ate our first dinner in the ryad and it was fantastic, and we had some nice wine. Breakfast was also very nice.
Our last morning we had to leave quite early and Michel had one of his staff come in early to make sure we had coffee, tea, and something to eat.
Our last night it was beginning to get cold and rainy, so we just stayed in and had a very nice, relaxing evening in this beautiful place.
I highly recommend it!

This was our favorite lodging during a 11-day tour of Morocco. The location was perfect for getting out and spending time in the old Medina. Michel shared some of his favorite places to eat in the Medina and we found that his recommendation for a cafe was perfect for us on our second day in Fes. The first evening we enjoyed dinner at the Ryad. Food was excellent - both dinner and breakfasts. The staff was very accommodating of our schedule and preferences. Service was outstanding. We were in Fes in the middle of our trip and decided it would be good to get some laundry done - Michel and his staff went the 'extra mile' to take care of us. Don't miss this Ryad, and an opportunity to meet Michel and his staff, if you are visiting in Fes!

Room Tip: We stayed with our two teenagers in the Grenadine Suite - excellent accommodations for each of us to...
