Wether a member of the front office team, the cleaner or the maintenance worker every single staff member I encountered during my stay greeted me with a smile & asked how I was. The customer service at this property was phenomenal. The hotel facilities modern and some great areas to relax in the lobby. Food was fantastic although I didn't know what I was ordering most of the time as they did not have an English menu but that's half the fun! The lobby Internet was fast and easily accessed. The spa was great and had some very well trained friendly staff. Being a part of the tourism industry myself I guess I'm extra critical but I would hands down stay at the Barcelo Fes Medina again and have no qualms about recommending it to friends or clients..

A modern business hotel. Nearly everything OK. Wi-Fi primarly in the lobby and on some other places but not in all rooms. Nice breakfirst and dinner.
Good location, not to far from the Medina. One problem: the airconditioner was set for winter and did only deliver heat or nothing. So we had 26 degrees in the room even with an open window

despite high price, the hotel is really excellent, located in a good position. Breakfast is great: lot of choice, even espresso is ok!
Maybe because it is new, rooms are clean and tidy, the bath is large enough
We had a really nice staying there

Nice and clean facilities. I found staff friendly and tried to help but sometimes a lack of expectations or miscommunication. Lobby internet was superb but rooms were another story. Some rooms lack of good internet coverage if you're trying to surf the web looking for different activities or sight seeing. Food is good as well as local restaurants. Relaxed environment and modern facilities giving you the feeling of clean and open spaces. Great location for tourism.

Room Tip: Higher floors are much quieter than lower ones

Better than average hotel but nothing outstanding, certainly not worthy of 5 star. Buffet breakfast was good as was dinner, the staff were not particularly helpful although the hotel is in a good location close to all of the sights.

We travelers, sometime we discuss about the difficulty always present to link meaningful personal experiences with the cultural environment and the history of the places we visit. It is a known challenge for turist, and travelers in general in this time of global experiences and global travel.
The Hotel Barcelò Fes Medina (I have been there twice and I strogly reccomend it to any intelligent and sensitive turist) has got that special feeling that can allow the visitor to live an exceptional experience in a beautif city. Fes, previously FEZ, is the pearl of the religious and urban history of Morocco. Her art, architecture and urban design are uniquely positioned to give to the visitor an unforgettable cultural and human experience. Thus the traditional way of life of Fes lives beyond hits walls and fortresses, expands through the surrounding modern city and enters this innovative Hotel !
Everything in this hotel seems to be conceived for helping the visitor to experience in the space of few hundred yards the time-distance of a number of centuries that separate the old from the modern city of Fes, the time-space dividing Fez from Fes finish here.
First the Hotel is positioned between the old and the new city, at walking distance you can overcame centuries ! Secondly the restaurant and amenities of the hotel are carefully organized to enhance the multi-cultural experience that the visitor is seeking...... tastes from the South of Spain are carefully twisted with original Maroccan products, delicious Maroccan food is served accompained by innovative presentations and arrangements. And if you prefer to « taste » the real Maroccan food, you could find at walking distance a number of places where this delicious food is served in a very living atmosfere, more autentic that what you would encounter in the Medina, where Maroccan food is unfortunately often denaturated from its more valuable assets, to become a « turist trap ». A trap that not few visitors like !
But if you believe in diversity and multi-cuntural respect through knowledge, you should try the one proposed by the Hotel Barcelo.
The only sad note is the sadly creamy sea-food spaghetti served in their restaurant ! Hopefully the management will do the necessary to improve and adecuate to the higest standards also this.

My experience couldn't be further from the enthusiasts. Brand new but furnished in low-end IKEA-esque kitsch. Restaurant over-run by small aunts. Staff unhelpful in both English and French. I have no good memories of this hotel.
