I stayed at Dar Dalila for nearly a week and was sorry to leave. The rooms and common areas are beautifully decorated, comfortable, quiet, and very clean and fresh. The owner Abdelmoutia is extremely conscientious, professional, and kind. As a solo traveler, I felt like I had somewhere to go home to at the end of the day. The caretaker, Mourad, was very gracious and attentive. Breakfast was huge and delicious - I always ate too much because I wanted to try everything! The terrace is beautiful with flowers and cacti, lounge chairs for sunning, patio chairs and tables for dining, and even a curtained gazebo(?) with couches for lounging and taking an afternoon tea. The Ziat quarter is very calm and quiet. The walk to the Medina is about 10 minutes, and I was able to find my way easily by the second trip. Make sure to check out the abandoned Glaoui and Mokri palaces in the area! Steps away from Bab Ziat, the riad is conveniently located for finding taxis. I hope to return to Dar Dalila someday soon!

Dar Dalila is gem of a hotel in Fes. It is beautiful, comfortable, clean, and a peaceful place to stay. I stayed there for 3 nights and would definitely come back and would recommend Dar Dalila to my family and friends. You cannot go wrong with Dar Dalilia. In addition, the owner Abdelmoutta, is fluent in english, very professional and hospitable. He is devoted to making the travelers stay in Fes a positive and happy experience. I felt very comfortable in Dar Dalila, slept well, spent endless hours up on the beautiful terrace, looked forward to the fresh and healthy breakfasts, and the friendly faces of Abdel and Murrad, giving brotherly advice on how to save money, what to see, where to eat without ever pushing to sell anything or any service. Staying at Dar Dalila enhanced my already amazing experience of Fes, and for that I am forever grateful. I look forward to my next visit :)

PS. You will taste the best fresh orange juice in town. Enjoy!

Room Tip: All the rooms are newly renovated, beautiful, and clean.

Our stay at Dar Dalila was our longest anywhere in Morocco, and it really started feeling like home. The owner - who has renovated it as a labour of love - was incredibly helpful, meeting our taxi to take us to the house the first time, walking us into the heart of the medina for the first time, upgrading our room since the nicest room was empty, taking us on a small driving tour of the parts of Fes we wouldn't have found otherwise, etc, etc. His Moroccan background and knowledge of prices and appropriate behaviours, coupled with his experience living abraod, make for a great combination. The renovation is very well done, and the roof-top terrace was our particular favourite - tasteful and cozy, all at once. The house helper was very sweet and very honest - - he did tell our taxi driver to take us to the gare, when we were going to the bus station, so just make sure you speak for yourself as well (not too much to expect!). Fully recommended.

On entering Dar Dalila we were quite stunned by the luxurious interior, it has only recently been renovated & is meticulous in its detail & craftsmanship. Our room was large, very clean & quiet, the breakfast was large, delicious & varied.
The location was good - 10 min walk to the centre & safe & quiet.
The owner was helpful & friendly, & will readily share advice on prices to pay in the souks, arrange trips & tell you about Fes.
I definitely recommend this accommodation.

I was in Dar Dalila four nights in the middle of April with my two friends on a vacation to Marocco.
When we landed to Fes Airport the host of Dar Dalila, Abdelmoutia was wel-coming us in the arriving hall. Then he carried us to the hotel and same time introduced us the city of Fes. We drove trough to main street and saw all lights and flags of Morocco. He told that the King of Morocco was in his palace and that is why all the lights and flags. When we came to Dar we were served a glas of mint tea with some biscuits in the roof terrace. Same time the host in-troduced how he was full renovated the Dar and told some fatcs about Fes and its Medina. Also he told us that he was able to make some tours to neihgtbouring cities with ful service, carrying, lunch, cafes etc.
When we got our rooms we saw the amazing Moroccan decorations and were fully satisfied about the cleaning and all in our rooms like air acconcion, safe box etc.. Next morning we sat on the breakfast table and the servant, Murat was covered the table full of many kinds, including the typical Moroccan pieces and even every morning they had something special to offer. When we eat the breakast we hear beautiful and relanxing Moroccoan folk music from the cd player, so also the food but the athmosphere was in-credible nice.
Also, two of our vacation days we made tours to the neightbour cities guided by the host Abdelmotia. Ve visited cities like Immouzer, Ifram, Mekenes, Hijab and expecilally to the old historic Roman city of Volibilis where we saw amazing ruins of the famous city destroued by eartquake. Abdelmoutia was a professional guide, always willing to help us all questions.
Overall, i can recommend Dar Dalila to all whom are interest in Moroccan culture and the way how they live.
And special thanks to the servant, Murat who always was ready to open doors, to serve mint tea and so on.
Definetly i want to come back to Fes and i want to choose Dar Dalila agein.

Our stay at Dar Dalila was a fantastic experience. The Dar itself has been beautifully renovated and was a lovely place to stay. As 2 couples we had booked the 2 standard rooms however we got one of them upgraded to the suite so that we could be on the same floor which was a treat! Ahmed was a great host, answering any questions we had and organising some great places for us to eat and Mahmood was always on hand to open the door and bring us mint tea after a long day shopping and exploring! The rooftop courtyard was a great place to relax in the sun and look out over the medina. Dar Dalila is located in a nice, quiet area away from the main streets of the medina but still within easy walking distance (about 5-10 minutes). We were escorted into the main part of the medina on the first night so that we wouldn't get lost and Ahmed had organised for us to get pride of place amongst one of the restaurants there. After a great nights sleep we were greeted by a wonderful breakfast of breads, pastries and jam served with orange juice and coffee. All in all a fabulous stay and great value for money, I only wish we could have stayed longer!

Positively wonderful, the two men that run this establishment go above and beyond the call of duty to make their guests' stay a lovely experience. While we struggled to find our way there, the owner came to pick us up; when navigating our way to a friend's apartment at 8pm we were escorted halfway, just so we wouldn't get lost; and, they drove us to the train station the next morning. The accommodations are stunning - a recent renovation, granting the spacious courtyard luxurious couches and delicate tiling and scrollwork adorning the walls and ceiling that could entertain the eyes for days. An excellent view from the rooftop, and inside plenty of peace and quiet for a night's rest, after which we awoke to a sumptuous breakfast of pastries, jam and cheese. Very reasonably priced, and a guaranteed treat.
