I highly recommend Ryad Mabrouka! We stayed in a number of riads during our trip across Morocco and this was my favorite. The rooms are not only spotlessly clean, but it is all the little details that make it great. The rooms are wonderfully restored and decorated with authentic Moroccan furniture and antiques. They also have locally made soaps in the bathroom, which is a nice touch. There is a wonderful central courtyard with a lovely, clean pool. Also, the view of Fes and the surrounding countryside is incredible from the rooftop patio.

The breakfasts, which are held in the courtyard, are very good and the dinner we had there one night was delicious.

The staff was friendly and professional. When we arrived, the owner brought out a map and gave us a rundown of the hotel and Fes, which we appreciated. They can also arrange a guide for you if you choose. We explored Fes on our own (as we did in every other city in Morocco, including Marrakech), and it might have been bad luck, but we found the faux guides in Fes particularly difficult. If I had it to do over again, I might consider getting a guide for just this reason.

The riad is located very close to the medina, and we did not need a taxi to go to any of the sites or restaurants that we wanted to go to. Everything was within easy walking distance.

Also, the parking is very convenient. There is a large parking lot (which charges a small fee) about 5 minutes away. One tip - do not get intimidated by the numerous parking attendants that surround your car as you park! You can hire (and will probably feel obligated to) someone to bring you and carry your luggage to the hotel for a very small fee.

Overall, I truly cannot imagine a better place to stay in Fes!

We stayed a wonderful 3 days in this amazing Riad situated just 2 minutes walk from the main Talaa Kebeera street that leads to all the souks and the very heart of the medina. It is located in a quiet neighbourhood against the medina walls and very close to taxi access - excellent.

The courtyard is wonderful full of trees, a small pool. It is quiet and we loved sitting in the garden eating breakfast or having a drink after wandering all the streets of Fez.

Pierre and Carolyn are wonderful hosts. Very helpful and interesting. Khalid, Ibrahim, and Fatima were great. Fatima is a complete sweetheart serving breakfasts and dinners. Khalid and Ibrahim took care of all our wishes for drinks or help.

I would not hesitate to recommend this Riad to anyone. We will stay here again when we come back to Fez.

By far the highlight of our trip to Morocco! Pierre and Carolyn were excellent hosts. The rooms were beautifully restored. Gurgling fountains, gorgeous garden, excellent and attentive service. They could easily have arranged all our needs while in the area. I would recommend that without hesitation. We spent five days there and hated to leave. Make sure and leave time to enjoy being at the hotel. We chose to hire a guide for our time in Morocco. The Ryad could have arranged all.

I have been left with a very unique and special memory of Fez. Looking through a scrapbook of pictures detailing the restoration of this property you can see the patience, care and dedicated craftsmanship that went into making Ryad Mabrouka what it is today. I stayed in the Attarine Suite and enjoyed dinner and breakfast on an enclosed terrace with beautiful stained glass windows. I would love to stay again to be able to utilize the gardens and rooftop terrace. There is just so much of the property and historical medina to take to take in.

Thank-you Pierre-Marie, Caroline and team. Be very proud of this wonderful property

Could not believe there's such a nice riad located just footsteps from the Medina. I like every bit of the design - colors, furniture, lighting, tiles, plantation, that makes the raid like an artpiece. Owner and staff members there are really nice. Food is excellent too. Best tangin dish I had had in my Morocco trip.
