The food was excellent and the portion size generous. We shared one menu and it was well enough for two. Coffee will be served with scrumptious little almond cakes, so don't miss it :)

Visited this popular tourist restaurant as a couple only while on our beautiful journey through the Medina. Not knowing in advance that it was patronised mainly by the larger tour groups who we assume had their lunch included on the overall tour price. We ordered only two chicken pies (a speciality of the region) and a coke each - account delivered to our table upon completion of our lunch was 396Dirhams (approx. $50.00 AUS) outrageous. We of course refused to pay this amount (being $25 per pie) with the assistance of our guide we had the cost reduced to 200Dirhams ($12.50 AUST per pie). Unless with a paid up front tour group go somewhere else. We had a beautiful BBQ of beef and lamb the next day for 80Dirhams ($5.00AUST each)
No comparison - be careful if travelling as a couple only or solo.

We had lunch here as part of our Medina walk. The ambiance, service and food was very good. I had the chicken pie and it was delicious. The rest of the group was also very complimentary to the meals they had. The staff was very friendly and some spoke English.

This was our first “WOW” moment of dining in Morocco after three full days in the country – the ambience, the warmth, the cheerful welcome, the appealing setting of the dining area: all quietly and harmoniously say “sit down, relax, partake, enjoy”.

We selected the Moroccan salad for appetizer, I chose the vegetable tagine, and my husband requested the chicken pastille. Instead of one salad that we expected, the waiter placed EIGHT different salad choices on our table, along with the bountiful offering of olives and bread. Every one of eight was so delicious: eggplant, sweet carrots, rice with veggies, beets. By the time the main course was served, we were full! But the entrees looked so enticing, we found room to squeeze in some of these delicacies: the pastille, while not very special in appearance, was a delectable combination of the phylo dough with mouthwatering chicken, egg and almond filling. The vegetable tagine, usually bland and predictable, was perfect in the balance of spices and flavors.

After a relaxing, enjoyable meal, we decided to take our coffee and fruit on a patio – ah, the secret of this restaurant is the roof-top patio, with sweeping views of the Fes countryside, along with minarets and rooftops, dotted with “white flowers”, i.e. the satellite dishes.

Everything absolutely exceeded our expectations: the food, the service, the décor, and, of course, the dessert on the patio. Make a point to find this restaurant – you will definitely enjoy your experience.
