“Amazing!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

Aicha is very good;location is absolutely central and may at first seem strange to get to, but the centrality and amazing inner courtyard completely makes up for it. Very clean and having good food, the highlight is the host Junior. Very knowledgeable and helpful, he is polite and respectful. If you geta chance to meet the manager Kacem, even better!

Our stay in Fes was pleasant - the owner was helpful, and drove us to the Riad (from the bus station) himself when he found out that the taxi drivers wanted to rip us off. The Riad itself is a beautiful place and well-run.

We arrived in a heavy rainstorm, and Kacem greeted us with a cup of hot tea. The location is just a few steps from Bab Rcif, a gate in the heart of the medina. The riad is beautifully restored, with comfortable beds. The view from the rooftop is not to be missed.

We took a family of 5 with kids aged 17, 15, and 12. At first it is a bit intimidating with you first arrive into Fes with all the noise and people and you walk down these narrow alleys to the Riad. Once inside, it is a paradise with incredible high walls and beautiful architecture. We relaxed in the main living area where the walls were approximately 15 meters high and very nice mosaic tiles and woodwork. The home was originally built in 1325 and rennovated in 2013.

The food was traditional tagine chiken, beef or lamb with potatoes and vegetables for dinner.

The owners were very helpful. We arranged tours to Chefchaouen (the blue city and we recommend going), the city of fes and camel trekking in the desert. Everyone of the staff was courteous and helpful.

The rooms, toilets and showers are all very modern (with historical charm) and good working order. The internet was sketchy. It worked sometimes and not others.

Be aware that it very difficult to find places that will take credit cards for payments, including the Riad Fes Aicha and tours. Most of the ATM cash machines only allowed 2000 Dirham (approximately 200 Euros) withdrawl. So we found it difficult to have enough cash for everything.

So far a great trip and now off to go camel trekking and camp in a tent in the Sahara!

Nice location in the medina, not too far from the road so you have an easy reference point when you get lost (which you will). WiFi is available throughout too.

The building echoes with the sound of the call for prayers in the morning, but that's the case anywhere in the medina. Overall the service is really excellent - Junior and Adam make you feel at home and help you to find your way around.
