We stayed in this riad for four nights on a recent trip to Morocco based on the good reviews. I don't know who the reviewers were, but our experience was drastically different. The riad is a located in Fes Medina, and the house is quite nice. When we arrived, they served us mint tea right away, which was quite pleasant. The staff was friendly, but hardly spoke a word of English. What is very different from all other places that I have stayed at is that the owner actually asked us to pay for the whole stay up front. I am a frequent traveler, and this has NEVER happened to me. The room was pleasant, but very basic. There is not even a chair that you can sit in. When we arrived, they didn't even have the sheets on the bed. We had to put the sheets on by ourselves, and the sheets were so thin that you can basically see through it. My friend stayed in another room, and found dead bugs right under the flat sheet. The bathroom appeared to be dirty, and the towels they gave us were really old, rough and stained. The next morning, we discovered that the drainage system doesn't really work in the shower. Also the hot and cold water mixing doesn't quite work properly. Breakfast was served in the courtyard, although it is the middle of December. All of the other riads that we stayed at had a plastic cover that would covered the top of the courtyard to help keep the cold air out. This one was just left open. Eating out in open air in the winter is not my cup of tea. Everything that was on the table was basically stone cold, and we all had to bundle up in our ski jackets and eat in the cold. The most unbelievable part of the experience was that on the second morning, I discovered that someone had gone through my bags and stole my blush and eyeliner pencil. I didn't say much that morning, and re-arranged my cosmetic bag as usual and left it out just to see if anyone would touch it again. Sure enough, someone had gone through my bag again when we came back that day. One day 3, we were moved to another room as the drain in our bathroom was leaking. The new room was on the ground floor, and had no heating whatsoever. Again, the hot and cold water mixing didn't really work in the shower, and drainage was also a problem. All that said, the owner is quite helpful with booking reservations at restaurants. I WILL NOT recommend this riad to anyone based on our experience, and I think the owner has a lot to learn about what is involved in running a hotel.
