We had never stayed at a hotel like this!!! It is absolutely beautiful, luxurious and full of character!!! Wonderful experience!!!
All the staff (bellboy, waiters, reception girls, housekeeping, manager) were extremely polite, helpful and always smiling. There was a great variety of international and Moroccan food for breakfast, and the two best meals we had in Morocco was at their restaurant. Our suite was very clean with crisp white sheets and large fluffy towels, the closet had lots of space for all our clothes, and every night they would put mineral water on our night tables.
If you like being in the medina, the localization is very good. Remember though, that you need to walk a couple of blocks to reach the front door of the riad, as the streets are not wide enough for cars. Fortunately it wasn't raining!
But...... we found the room to be rather dark, and in order to get there, we had to cross a terrace, so every time we went or came from our room, we felt the wind and the cold air. Again I must say: thank goodness it wasn't raining!!
Also, when we checked-in we asked for a room with a walk in shower which they promptly managed to get. Unfortunately, the shower box wasn't sealed properly, so all the water ran under the glass and flooded the entire bathroom. When we complained, they immediately came to dry up, but the problem hadn't been solved; so on the next day we had to have a tub bath, - that was exactly what we didn't want -. Too bad!!!
All in all, even with the inconveniences mentioned above, I should say that Riad Fes is really the best place to stay in Fes!!!

Riad Fes is easily one of the most beautiful places I have stayed. Hands down. WOW! It is meticulous and detailed to perfection. My problem was the service. When we ordered from room service or to have drinks on the patio, the order was usually wrong and took at least an hour, even for a simple order or tea. When our tour guide (we set up before we arrived and used someone outside of the riad) called, they would not put him thru. Apparently this is Riad Fes' way of insuring that you use their own guides. However, no one from the Riad ever offered to set up any tours or dinner reservations for us. The staff was very helpful with the exception of the Manager. He was very unhelpful and had an attitude. Although it was an incredible physical space I would not spend the money again for the poor attitude and service.

Dear Sirs,
Thank you very much for your review. We are always interested by our guests' feedback in order to improve the quality of our service.
I am very sorry, that you were disappointed with your stay among us, above all with the quality of our service. Riad Fes has not its own guides. We always try to work with the best official guides in Fez, in order to ensure the best service to our guests. All the services we can provide to our guests are clearly mentionned upon the check-in by the receptionnist and also in the rooms. We are always intermediairies between guides and guests. For the safety of our guests and in order to keep our image, we would not allow the non official guides to enter in the Riad. We already had this kind of problems.
Concerning the room service, the moroccan food requires time of preparation and we do propose a fresh cuisine.
Best Regards
Miss Awa DIAKHATE

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for quality in an almost unique location. The medina in Fes in quite difficult to get around unassisted which does put you off going out on your own especially if travelling with youngish children as we were. The streets are so narrow and crowded and the medina is a real maze but once you get used to it a little you can be more adventurous. We had two lovely rooms that were well decorated in the older part of the riad. Our only disappointment was that the weather was awful when we were here so we didn't get to use the terraces or the splash pool. It was quite cold so we couldn't take full advantage of the trendy bar they have as this is open to the elements.
The food in the restaurant is good but if you are a little fussy like are kids are then make sure you choose from the a la carte menu for which they do prefer about 2 hours notice. That said, there is plenty of choice and there was enough variety to keep us all happy for the 3 nights - Moroccan food at its best. We didn't venture out at night because of the rain and the problems of getting lost although most restaurants will send a guide.

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

It isn't very often that one has a pefectly flawless experience at a small hotel but our stay at Riad Fes was just that -- pefect. They have attended to every possibly detail and maintain an absolutely stunning riad. I cannot even recommend anything for improvement. It is truly wonderful.

Riad Fes is the perfect choice to stay in a Riad in Fes. It is ideally located such that one can enter and leave the very confusing Medina by Dar Batha - one of the gates which is just a few turns away.

The staff are very helpful, speak good English and I recommend that guests actually pay heed to the staff's advice. In a country where conmen abound esp when it comes to guides etc, Riad Fes arranges for official very good guides and can book taxis, restaurants etc for you.

Also if you seek a little bit of relaxation - this is one Riad that has its own hammam and a bar - something that is not easy to come by in the more austere city of Fes.

Although we had an awful first experience (if arriving from Bus Station, call the hotel and pay a taxi driver to get you close to the hotel otherwise a 15 minute walk), upon arrival we realised that we had found an oasis in the madness that is the Fes Medina. We had a night in a duplex room on around he central atrium, but moved to a slightly smaller room on the rooftop, which meant we had a smallish outdoor area with chair/table, and being on the rooftop menat that you could take two steps and be close to one of the most mesmorising views one can ever have in a hotel. We spent hours doing nothing except staring into the distance. You have an incredible view of the medina gently dropping away from and the surrounding hills in the distance.
The pool was a welcome relief in the searing July heat - the numerous beautiful fountains created a serene atmosphere by day and night. The interiors of the rooms and the common areas were right out of a Moroccan design magazine or coffee tabe book. At the end of the day, a gentleman playing the lute in the foyer just capped off the experience for us.
If you can splurge on our accomodation costs, everyone should take the opportunity to stay here for a coupe of days. Simply Magnificent!

What a lovely introduction to Morocco! Amazing welcome, sevice, room, location.... but the best of all was the restaurant and the breakfast in the morning. We dined at the restaurant both nights and it was truly magnificent. Stunning riad and very affordable for the price especially after staying at others that came highly recommended. The staff are attentive, spoke good English, helpful. Would go back to Morocco just to dine in the restaurant.
Lovely terrace and beautiful court yard ... you would never know such a beautiful riad existed when arriving in the area... well worth a stay
