Great for the average westerner that lives in the sterile modern urban environments. A complete escape!

Don't miss the Medina and his different artisan markets!
Don't miss the opportunity to see Fes el-Bali from Borj Nord or South, the only way to appreciate the greatness of this medieval city.

I wasn't expecting to walk into another souk when going to Fes el-Bali but it is. you can see the difference when you hit the jewish area but only its quite subtle and you may miss it for the constant hustle & bustle. its quite a relief when you come out at the palace gates.

Just got back from an absolutely delightful 18 day coach tour of Andalucia (Spain) and Morocco . Exploring the labyrinthian alleys of Fes with El Janah Hassan our guide was an experience that cannot be forgotten. In fact, that goes for the entire tour that included Granada, Cordoba , Seville, Marrakesh, Rabat and Tangier. Will recommend to anyone , Muslim, Christian or Jew, who genuinely wishes to have his or her veil of misconception of the other removed. The danger is that each may end up embracing each other.
