“Wonderful stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2013

our stay at the Riad Maison Bleue was exceptional! The staff welcomed us very graciously with dates and milk and from that moment on I knew this was going to be a very special stay. The Riad is beautiful with stunning tile and wonderful details throughout. We had a spectacular suite and the service was perfect! The Riad exceeded my expectations and they only complaint I had was that our stay was much too short! This was by far the best accomodation we had in Morocco!

From the moment of arrival it was a virtual feast for the senses....sitting sipping a milk drink and eating dates overlooking the courtyard. I felt very welcomed, more like a home than a hotel.I was escorted to my room, up the winding narrow tiled stairway to a stunning suite.......sitting room, fresh fruits and water on the table....and then the 4 poster bed.I opened a window that faced the terrace with a view to the roof tops of Fes. it was a beautiful beginning to our 5 days in Fes. I loved the massage and treatment in the in-house Hamam ( bathhouse), the variety of food available at breakfast and the delicious dinners. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The staff was most attentive and agreeable.

a beautiful riad, stunning interior, impeccable service, lovely food, especially breakfast. Only downside is number and steepness of steps inside. you need to be fit!!!! petit taxi needed to go out but only a few yards from hotel. lovely views of city walls from terraces. fabulous spa.

Room Tip: pay for suite!!! but all rooms good.

Everything about this riad is as near perfect as you could hope for. From the moment the door first opens to the care with which you are helped on your way on leaving, you feel the warmth and professionalism of this very well managed riad. The building itself is beautiful both in its architectural decoration and in the quality of its furnishings. But the scale is intimate, and it's a delight to discover terraces and balconies which look down onto the courtyard pool or out across the old city of Fez. My room on the ground floor overlooked the pool; it was very comfortable, spacious and luxuriously equipped. Attention to detail typifies the way this place is run. Nothing is too much trouble for the genuinely hospitable staff who go out of their way to anticipate your needs. Breakfast and dinner are served in a magnificent high-ceiling dining room decorated in fine Moroccan style. No mass-produced hotel food here - only delicious home made fare. In short, if you want a few days of total well-being in an ideal part of the old city of Fez, come to the Riad Maison Bleue.

We had a wonderful time in Morocco overall. It is a beautiful country with wonderful people.

But Riad Maison Bleue, Fes, was the jewel in the crown. Every waiter, porters and other staff member was welcoming, warm and caring.

Though we had booked a room, the concierge upgraded us to the princess suite - a giant, luxurious expanse unlike anything I have seen before, with a four-poster bed draped in chiffon curtains and windows that opened out onto an orange tree and a courtyard pool.

On the last of our three days in Fes, we actually cancelled our plan to roam around in the medina because we wanted to spend the day on the beautiful property instead. We had drinks by the pool, a snack on your sunny upper terrace and a sad goodbye drink at the bar (because it was now time to go and we were quite heart-broken).

The staff were welcoming, helpful and made us feel at home at all times. The food was wonderful, the infrastructure superb.

The interiors were impeccable, gorgeously Moroccan.

The hotel is now one of our most unique, most luxurious memories.

Fez was our last stop on our trip, and in terms of riads was probably the most dissapointing experience. The Maison Bleue held lots of promise for it was the priciest hotel on our trip, but what we found was a somewhat decadent and mistreated property with surly money hungry service. We could see the charm of the riad, and could see its potential ... though what we got was by far the least charming, simpathetic, touristy experience in our whole trip - and all at a VERY high cost. Avoid this property if you are looking for a friendly and authentic experience in Fez.

Dear TripAdvisor reviewer,

We are really surprised with this review because of several incoherent facts :

First of all, we, in fact, received a guest from Brazil having your same name for the same period whom we contacted directly and he formally denied his relation with this review ( we keep the emailing from the true guests that we can share if you ask for ).
Second we noticed that the account from which the review was posted was created on March 25th and it has over 30 reviews concerning the four continents in 02 days.
Third, the photos posted with the review are quiet old and not coherent with the said period ( October 2012). We have proceeded consistent renovations on January 2010 which do not appear in the posted photos ( we can send you a recent photo if you ask for take it from the same angle)
Finally we assume this is a "fraudulous" review thank you for deleting it.

Kind Regards.

This is a lovely guest house in Fes. From the time we checked in, until we left 24 hours later, the staff made us feel at home. The room was very handsome and well-appointed, and the staff very friendly and attentive. Also, the restaurant was very good. It is also in a very good location, as it sits near the "Blue Gate" entry into the medina, or old city. Near the end of our stay, we had a couple of hours to kill, while waiting for our transportation to our next destination. The staff made sure that we felt welcome and comfortable while we waited. Strongly recommend this place.
