We had a fantastic stay at Riad Numero 9 in Fez. The place is so Romantic and ideally located in the Fez Medina. The place is beautifully decorated, a mix of traditional Moroccan style with modern furniture. Stephen and Bruno, the owners have created a stylish and unique gem with a truly distinctive feel.
Better than a boutique hotel in all aspects. There is a real attention to detail, and relaxed atmosphere at Riad Numero 9. They made us feel really special during our stay.
Every morning, we had breakfast on the rooftop terrace overlooking Fes and the valley below. This is an idyllic setting, very romantic for a special hideaway.
The food was spectacular as one of the owners is a chef and we just dream of going back as soon as possible.

Where to start. Stephen and Bruno have created an oasis. Without a doubt, staying at Riad Numero 9 made my time in Fes better in every way. From the beautiful accomodations (meticulously renovated) to the incredible hospitality (Bruno and Stephen go above and beyond), it is THE place to stay in Fes.
Not to be missed!

Riad 9, is one of the most magical places, that I have ever stayed in. Of course the incredible setting of Fes, is unbeatable. However, the hospitality and décor of Riad 9 was magnificent. There is nothing about our stay that I found disappointing. This is a place for people who want something entirely unique, and visually inspiring. We were picked up at our train from Marrakech, by the Atika, who works for the the riad. We immediately felt taken care of, from that moment. Which, I must say, was not the case for another Riad that we stayed in Marrakech. Atika so was warm, helpful and has a good sense of humor. She continued to be a delight, through out our stay. The hosts and proprietors Stephen and Bruno were the best. They looked after our every need. Every morning, we took our breakfast on the rooftop terrace, which has an incredible view of Fes and the valley below. You can't beat that.
All I can say is, Riad 9 is a MUST STAY when visiting Fes.

As a first time traveller to Morocco on my own, I was a little daunted as to what to expect but I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay than Riad Numero 9. The owners, Stephen and Bruno, have created an idyllic setting and made me feel instantly welcome and at ease. The Riad has been beautifully renovated with all the comforts and attention to detail which make it such a charming and relaxing place to stay. The views from the roof garden are truly breathtaking and Stephen and Bruno, who've lived in Fes for a number of years, were always on hand to recommend the best places to visit and gave me a real insider's guide to the city and region. I was also treated to delectable breakfasts each morning with home-made jams and other delicious produce from the local markets. Honestly, this place really is Fes' best kept secret and in my view, fantastic value for money - I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else!

After a long journey in the desert, we arrived at the Riad hoping for some luxury and comfort. This is exactly what we got. The owners Stephen and Bruno showed us our suite, (you will not be disappointed for spending the extra money) and we were in heaven. We chatted with Stephen who is a true source of knowledge for Morocco and Fez. The views from the rooftop were stunning. Breakfast the following day was wonderful and we were escorted by one of the staff to do some shopping. My only regret is not having stayed longer in Fes. It does not have the glitter of Marrakech but its beauty is more authentic and Fes is the cultural capital of Morocco, steeped in a rich past.
I want to go back to Riad 9.

This was by far the BEST place we stayed in Morocco! The owners of this Riad are so wonderful in many ways. Their generosity, attention to detail, and relaxed hospitality were much appreciated. The decor of this house is just spectacular and authentic to Morocco! They gave us A LOT of input on places in and around Fes. We also had one of best dinner here because, one of the owners is a chef and a superb one! The BEST Lamb we had in Morocco! Definitely book your stay in Fes here. Guaranteed you will NOT be disappointed! If you are I'll even give you your money back :)

A cold and rainy 3 days in Fez could have been a disappointment had it not been for the warm welcome we received at Riad 9. A beautiful house, beautifully restored by it owners for whom nothing was too much trouble. Great food, great company, a true delight.
Thank you Stephen and Bruno.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Riad n°9 is an 18th century bourgeois residence that has been reincarnated as a boutigue bed and breakfast. The decisive factor in purchasing the property was the roof terrace which has sweeping views over the medina. Riad n°9 was originally purchased as a vacation home in 1999 and underwent a 3-year restoration process. We uncovered all the original 18th century mosaics, carved wood and plaster and hand-painted wood. In 2007, we opened to the public and changed nothing believing guests would appreciate the "personal" touches throughout. Our philosophy is to offer guests the possibility of appropriating the space for themselves and experiencing what an authentic medina home feels like. ... more   less
