We adored Dar Roumana. The location is great, in a quiet spot and not hard to find your way from (as far as getting lost in the Medina goes). We had four nights in the Tamarind suite, which was stunning, with double-height ceilings and a nice seating area (and ultra deep luxurious bath) and one night before we flew out in the Argana room, which was very private and cosy and potentially the quietest room in the dar. We were incredibly well looked after, Vanessa gave us lots of tips and advice, patiently answering an onslaught of questions every day. Breakfast was divine and we were lucky enough to eat two of Vince's dinners (the chocolate tart rocked my world). All the staff were fantastic and it was a truly beautiful, special place to stay. Would not look elsewhere in Fez, thanks!

My husband and I are a Canadian couple who spent four days over New Years at Dar Roumana and we can't say enough of how wonderful the whole experience was. Right from the time of making our reservation, Vanessa was attentive to any questions I had and made helpful suggestions. Being picked up and transported directly into the medina and Dar Roumana was truly helpful and appreciated. And once we arrived, what a lovely surprise to find ourselves in an amazingly beautiful restored riad, warmly welcomed and made comfortable. Vanessa touched base with her guests often and was extremely helpful throughout our stay as were the other staff. Our room was immaculate and tastefully decorated in a Moroccan, sophisticated style and truly romantic.

The restaurant was busy, so we only got to eat New Years dinner there and we weren't disappointed. Vincent created a delicious dinner and the breakfasts were always fresh and delicious as well. We brought in the New Year up on the rooftop terrace overlooking the medina...wonderful!

Thank you Vanessa, Vincent, Mohammed and the Dar Rouman staff.
Nancy

We stayed three nights and the room, the food, the service and experience of Dar a Romana was superb. Vanessa was so helpful and went out of her way to ensure we could make the most of our short time in Fes. All her recommendations were just right so we had good food, great adventures and a haven. The room, beds, bathrooms get a ten out of ten. The food prepared by Vincent is just delicious. We would have been happy to eat here every night but the small restaurant is so popular we only could get in once. If you go to Fes stay here.

We stayed here in November 2013. The staff was outstanding and accomodating. We stayed in the Yasmina suite and could not have been happier. We did not intend on having dinner the night we arrived, but got in so late and the location of the Dar in the medina and if you are unfamiliar with Fes will understand why we decided to stay for dinner. It was one of the best meals we had in our stay in Morocco along with some outstanding wine. Everything we asked for we received from the staff. If you have to decide where to stay in Fes, you will not be disappointed with Dar Roumana.

Amongst the ‘Dar’s we had stayed in different cities around the country, Dar Roumana is no doubt the best restored and most beautiful traditional Moroccan courtyard house of surprising cleanliness. Vincent is very friendly, provided useful get-around information for the medina. Great hospitality from the whole team, Mohammad was particularly helpful at all time during our 4-day stay. The French cuisines we had were remarkable. The ‘mixed nut cookies’ baked by their Moroccan chef Naima is most memorable to us. We just could not resist going back to the Dar for afternoon tea every day because of those cookies. Don’t miss the cookies if you stay there!!

We stayed 2 nights at the Dar Roumana in Fez. The room, the food, the special attention to all our needs was fantastic. Vanessa could not have been more helpful before we arrived in finding a special opportunity for my family to participate in creating mosaics through a local artisan company that met us and dropped us off at Dar Roumana. The day manager met our driver at 6:15 am and packed a travel breakfast on the day we left just to be sure we got a great send off. I would highly recommend Dar Roumana

After an adventurous arrival in Fez life suddenly became more serene, beautiful and delicious! We had arrived at Dar Roumana. Vanessa and her partner Vincent run a very organized, friendly and breathtakingly beautiful riad, but the calm and effortless help and advice is priceless. Who needs a guide through the labyrinth of narrow streets of the medina when the hostess can explain quite simple, interesting routes to most major attractions. It was almost easy.
At night Vincent runs a wonderful, intimate restaurant in the riad which should not be missed. Recommendations to other 'good food destinations' we're also consistently good.
Of course the staff were also excellent! Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable!!!

Room Tip: All rooms were beautiful.
