I made my reservation by Internet for being in arabesque. But whem we arrived there they brought us to another place which they called "annexe". In this place, we had worse conditions than in arabesque. We had not bathroom in the room, it was a very small space and the building was too small and poor. We paid for one suite for two persons, with bathroom and living-room, and we found a very small room with poorer conditions. It was a great disappoitment. I can't suggest this place. It was a bad experience.

We stayed five days / four nights at the Riad Arabesque.
We were greeted pleasantly by a driver from the airport, provided gracefully by the hotel (very useful when you've never been there. The drive is approx 1/2 hour).
The hotel also offered a guided visit of the Medina, also very useful when you're not familiar with the surroundings.
The Riad Arabesque is a pleasant traditional building. Our room was large and confortable with a nice view. The hotel personnel was friendly and helpful up to the last minute. We enjoyed the all the meals, from breakfast to dinner. We liked the musical background in the evening (a guitarist / violinist / singer was there every night).
The hotel is located inside the Medina and a few minutes away from a "little taxi" station from which taxis will take you anywhere.
We recommned the Riad to tourists who wish to spend a few days in Fes.

I stayed in the riad just five days ago and I found it terrible.
I stayed in other places in morocco for €20/30 and I had my own bathroom and breakfast in the morning. I decided to splash out on my last night in Morocco and stay in a really fancy place. Big mistake.

For €150 I was told that I was getting a half day tour of the city, transfer to and from the airport and breakfast. The place was advertised as having a pool and a hamman. All lies.
The pool and hamman are not even build yet. The tour- which lasted one hour went from one shop to another even though I had told the guide at the beginning that I was not interested in buying anything. Plus I had to keep reminding them about my taxi to the airport which came so late I almost missed my flight.

However this wasn't the worst of it. I was travelling as a single woman and the hotel seemed horrified by this and looked at me like I was a parasite when I arrived. Let me explain that I look Moroccan and I was covered from neck to ankle, wearing a hair scarf so it wasn't like I was scanty clad. Hence the atmosphere was very hostile especially when you consider the fact you are paying to be treated like a piece of dirt.
No where else in Morocco did I have such an experience and all I can say is if you a girl on your own don't go!

My friends and I stayed 2 nights at Riad Arabesque. The riad is a hidden gem on a dead-end alley in the medina. Although we arrived after midnight, we were cheerfully greeted by the staff with mint tea and cookies. The enclosed courtyard is an eclectic mixture of beautiful antiques sitting under large stained-glass windows. There are 3 large parlor rooms as well as an patio available for relaxing or for meals. There is also a large roof-top terrace with a panoramic view of the medina.

The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. The staff made obvious efforts to add variety to the breakfasts not seen in other hotels/riads during our time in Morocco. We also took advantage of the set menu dinner offered by the riad. The variety of Moroccan salads and tangines was excellent.

The suites are large, clean and comfortable. The style in my room seemed dated: like sleeping at grandma's house. But, I didn't come to Morocco to hang-out in the room, so the decor wasn't that important to me.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The morning/afternoon manager speaks some English, while the evening manager is fluent.

Overall, a great place to stay with a very friendly staff. I would definitely consider staying here if I ever return to Fes.

TIP #1: We pre-arranged with the riad to have car service from the airport. Considering the hidden location, I definitely recommend this move to other travelers.

Tip #2: We were pleasantly surprised to learn that our stay included a full-day tour of the medina with a guide. The guide was very knowledgeable, however he had his own agenda which focused on shopping. He became a little grumpy, but relented when we insisted on seeing some specific sights. I would recommend that other travelers clarify with the riad what is included with the tour (we had to pay to be driven around the ramparts, but was later told that should have been included).
