Exploring Fez from Riad Laaroussa was a wonderful experience. Laaroussa is a beautifully renovated traditional riad built around a central courtyard. Our room, the Red Room, is large, comfortable and very clean and modern. There is great attention to detail from the choice of furnishings to the attentions of the staff.
The staff, all english speaking, are knowledgeable and go the extra distance to make things perfect. I sensed they took real pride in what they were doing.
The food is fantastic: we had cous cous, chicken tagine and chicken pastilla ( a delicious filo pastry dish). The vegetable side dishes are unique and very healthy. The wine list features French and Moroccan selections and we were quite impressed with the local wines.
We had a massage in the riad's hamman which has a traditional domed steam room and heated marble surface. This is definitely worth it.
Our tour guide was suggested by the staff and he was encyclopedic in his knowledge of this beautiful medieval city, which is very well preserved. We walked to all the quarters of the old medina and got peaks into the life behind the impenetrable walls .
Our last day there we went to the open air market with the chef and watched her select the fresh food for the evening meal at the Riad. No supermarket vegetables here-only things right from the garden!
There is an attached guesthouse for families or for groups which would be something we might do in the future.

Although we did not stay in this Riad we had many fabulous experiences in this magical place. The women who run it, Sabah, Samira, Fatima and Huid are incredibly helpful, friendly, and treat you like part of the family. Samira took us shopping with her to the market (souk) and with great sprit showed us around the market where we learned much about the different ingredients and spices of the tasty Fessi cuisine. After spending several hours in the kitchen helping to prepare the food, later that evening, we enjoyed a fabulous traditional Moroccan dinner in the beautifully art deco decorated dinning room.

We also enjoyed a fabulous hammam with a massage inside this Riad. As you walk into the massage room, it is filled with candles and fresh scents accompanied by soothing music. The experience went beyond our expectations; it was luxurious, relaxing and comforting. This hammam had all the amenities of a modern spa with a traditional hammam feeling; a feast to all the senses.

Our experience in Riad Laaroussa greatly enhanced our stay in Fes and contributed to our love for this very special city.

with the exception of breakfas, for which variety and promptness of service should be improved, this hotel is a dream made reality

We just returned from a three night stay at Riad LaaRoussa. The staff, especially Sabah and Indie were incredibly welcoming, professional, accommodating and warm. We had our own personal space in very generous and well-decorated rooms (we had two rooms), all the comforts of home including super-cozy duvets, great services including wonderful meals, (we had breakfasts and one lunch and one dinner at the Riad) restaurant reservation assistance, and assistance with drivers and guides. (Thanks to Hamdido and Mohamed). My eleven-year-old twins had a fabulous time with the two cats and two dogs on premises as well. The location is in the center of the medina. You cannot find better. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Beatiful Riad perfectly positioned in the heart of the Medina. Rooms (we were in the Orange suite) are amazing, something difficult to imagine for Western travelers. Amazing for details, comfort, care and indeed size (height!). Service is excellent, managed with attention and care by Sabah and Samira, the Queens of the Riad, with their team of accurate and kind young women. Excellent breakfast on the terrace with a view on the Medina, perfect for relaxing and sunbathing. Dinner with traditional food prepared by Samira with fresh ingredients bought daily in the market. Don't miss a visit to the market with her... she is also perfect in providing shopping advice. Pay a visit also to the private bath (hammam).

We had a wonderful room in Riad Laroussa with a marvellous bathroom. There was a cheminey in the room but if the weather is good there is also a very nice terrace on the roof. The diner and breakfast are great and the owner is really friendly.

I recommand Riad Laroussa.
