Visited here in March for 3 nights. The building cannot fail to impress in its size and grandeur. Not sure about some of the decoration but it is spectacular.
At the beginning if March we were disappointed to find quite significant building work going on. The swimming pool was green and opaque in amongst the works. We never heard any building activity but it did detract from the splendor of the building.
Our room was small with just two single beds and a small bathroom. The windows were left open all day after the room had been serviced and as a result it was freezing when we returned. The extremely noisy a/c unit heated the room OK but it was a choice of sleep or hypothermia.
The staff were very helpful and the breakfasts were superb and plentiful. We would have liked to have had an evening meal here but the dining area was unseated apart from a battered patio gas heater. We didn't fancy dining in fleeces and jumpers!
I would imagine it's a different place altogether when the warmer weather arrives and the builders depart.
