“A class act in Fes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2012

We recently had a wonderful three night stay at Riad Tizwa in Fes, a very stylish dar on the edge of the medina.

To begin with, the location is great - easy to get to by taxi (and a 2 minute walk), but still right in the middle of the action of the medina and souks, with many great restaurants nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but at the same time, let us relax in our own way (which we found wasn't always the case in some places). The styling of the courtyar and its rooms is really special - you definitely know you're in a beautiful Moroccan courtyard house, without it being too fussy or overdone. Our room opened out onto the roof terrace and was delightful, complete with seperate dressing area behind the bed, the cutest fireplace you've ever seen, a huge bathroom, and lit by beautiful lanterns. We also looked at some of the other bedrooms and could have been equally happy in them - really impressive.

A very happy stay!

It was great to return to Riad Tizwa for my second visit Fez.

The Riad is spectacular with amazing mosaics and ornate plaster work enormous wooden doors and stain glassed windows.

We got a really warm welcome from the staff and Miriam the lovely house keeper was absolutely brilliant and spent lots of time making sure we understood the main roads in the medina and key landmarks to help orient ourselves.

Our room was enormous with a hour poster bed, huge white curtains and drapes. The room had loads of space to hang clothes a sofa coffee table easy chairs, beautiful rugs. It also had practical things like ipod dock and hairdryer.

The food at the riad is amazing breakfast on the roof terrace is a treat with home made vanilla yogurt, fruit, muesli, pancakes and honey, breads and jams teas and coffee. We also had a number of lovely evening meals an amazing chicken tagine. We spent a lot of time on sun loungers on the roof but when things got two hot there are shaded sofa's too.

We organised cars to and from the airport and guides to do tours of the medina via riad which made everything really easy!

We enjoyed our stay here. Nice house in an easily accessible part of Fez. Good breakfast and they even custom cooked some Khlea and eggs for me.

I think we could have found a cooler place for our money.

Miriam, who runs the Riad, is great - she's been working with the owners for 2-3 years and really makes the visit special. The breakfasts are amazing .... A great base to explore Fes from. It's also really really quiet at night,

We have just had the best weekend at Riad Tizwa.

The house is a beautiful typical courtyard house with large and comfortable rooms. It is all elegantly decorated without being fussy. Great terrace with broad views of the city where we had the most amazing breakfast. Our suite was beautiful and comfortable. The staff is friendly and go out of their way to help you.

We felt at home right away...
