I had planned to visit Marrakech for more than twenty years. When I did my idea was a traditional Riad with beautiful mosaic work, carved doors a plunge pool. Well Esprit du Maroc offers this, but that is unfortunately where it ends. The breakfast is atrocious, coffee undrinkable a few pieces of breads. After the second breakfast we had to ask for fruit. The price of fruit and pastries and eggs in the market are so cheap, surprising that they cannot be purchased for breakfast.
The next problem was settling the bill, in the three other cities we visited in Morocco the tourism tax was included, so when it was added here I questioned it. I was dismissed as a cheap tourist who didn't want to pay.
I was also questioning a 25 euro taxi to the airport, for that I also received a lecture.

' I hope people pay your fees, I don't want your money, I don't need it '
I think half the problem was pointing out the poor breakfast and questioning the bill with a language barrier, we don't speak French.
So awful experience, beautiful Riad, perhaps only stay if you speak French!

vous etes venu au riad un matin accompagne d un faux guide sans reservation et sans voucher,car vous aviez quitte un autre riad qui ne voulait pas comme clients, vous et votre compagnon.
Nous avons pour habitude de vendre du reve et de la gentillesse et du professionnalisme comme depuis 17 ans que ce riad existe …
vous m avez dit avoir un petit budget et comme il me restait une chambre standard de libre et une supérieure vous avez été très touchés par ma gentillesse .
vous décrivez le petit déjeuner horrible n avez vous pas honte décrire cela sur notre page Trip Advisor monsieur juste par vengeance parce que je vous ai donne une grande leçon de vie et vous ai explique ce que c’est qu entreprendre et aimer son metier. Oui il n y a pas que l argent monsieur il y a la passion de son metier et avoir de tels clients comme vous et votre petit ami fait partie des tristesses de ce metier au depart du riad oui je vous ai rendu les 50 euros que vous deviez paye et je vous ai donne une grande leçon de vie ... mais moi la gérante et mon personnel que vous avez insulte le soir devant autre client qui sont venu me voir aussitôt et tout me raconter tellement ils étaient choques par votre méchanceté incroyable et votre comportement inadmissible…
Au petit dejeuner vous avez nos viennoiserie fait maison, salade de fruit crepe marocaine, jus d orange frais qu- on vous a resservit deux fois a votre demande, pour vous faire plaisir, car vous aviez peu de budget et vous faites partis des nouveaux clients qui font menacent, au moment du depart pour pas payer quoi que ce soit au chantage d un mauvais avis sur trip advisor pour raconter n importe quoi sur internet par jalousie et méchanceté face aux gens comme nous qui entreprenons travaillons dur chaque jour sans repos souvent et de longues heures pour le bonheur de nos clients qui se sentent chez eux.Merci a tous nos clients pour leur fidélité et leur amitié notre reputation nest plus a faire cher monsieur et ce nest pas votre avis qui fera le mal les clients ou futures clients savent le type de client que vous etes et bons nombre doter signalent a Trip Advisor de tels clients.
cette semaine nous avons eu une belle surprise une grande recompense deux clients sont revenus après 4 ans une famille japonaise venu l année dernière et deux clients français qui souhaitaient venir me dire bonjour et me dire combien ils gardent bons souvenirs voila cela c’est notre passion le metier .
vous avez dit être médecin j espere que vos patients vous payent votre temps vos prestations et ne vont pas après sur internet derriere leur écran a détruire votre travail bizarre pourquoi vous mettez pas les nombreuses photos du riad que vous avez prisent …superbes avec vous et votre ami….un superbe souvenir du riad Esprit du Maroc.Ecrire des mensonges c’est hallucinant vous avez vraiment pas de bonne valeurs dans votre vie monsieur.
Jai fait une grosse erreur de vous accepter dans ce riad juste par gentillesse car vous cherchiez un riad avec vos bagages a pied et je vous ai rendu service et vous étiez trop content de mon geste et de vous accueillir . Mais votre ami avait un peu de jalousie alors le lendemain il a commence a critique et la nous avons compris que vous étiez deux personnes qui viennent a lhotel 5 etoiles pour critiquer et faire menace pour en fin de compte pas payer.
un taxi venant vous chercher au pied du riad 200 dhs et vous dites c’est cher . je vous ai dit monsieur si vous préférez marcher a pied je vous offre le taxi et les taxes de séjours vous vouliez pas payer je vous ai explique que c’était pour la ville et obligatoire a payer au depart au bout de 10 minute vous etes venu me voir vous excuser et avez paye 50 euros le montant de votre facture. nous avons donc commande le transfert retour mais a 10 h 15 votre ami a annule et en fin de compte je vous ai rendu les 50 euros pour vous donner une grande leçon de vie on a notre honneur monsieur sachez le. et je lui ai dit on a pas besoin d avoir de argent de vous monsieur des gens aussi méchants et menteurs qui ont profité de la gentillesse . taxi 25 euros vous écrivez, alors que c’est 20 euros vous mettez encore honte a vous . toute notre clientele est anglophone et top du top et toute mon equipe parle anglais alors arrêtez vos écrits sur internet monsieur . nos clients fortunes ou pas n a aucune importance je travaille avec mon coeur et tous me remercie chaque jour de les avoir reçu comme chez eux > Merci a tous nos clients qui nous ont donne une belle recompence Prix excellence sur trip advisor … 2017 votre avis me donne une grande leçon j aurais du me renseigner pourquoi vous cherchiez un autre riad car en fin de compte le riad ou vous aviez reserve avant, ne voulait plus de vous et tout se sait a marrakech mais je lai appris le lendemain dommage...
bonne chance dans votre vie monsieur et arrêter de critiquer le Maroc car c’est une superbe pays accueillant jy vis depuis 18 ans de passion pour ce pays qui me va droit au coeur.
vous ne devez vraiment pas être heureux monsieur dans votre vie .

Just spent 4 nights on my first visit to Morocco. The Riad is very well placed within the Medina, close to all the old town attractions. Communications prior to arriving were quick and helpful, with the arranged private transfer waiting for us - even though the driver waited two hours. The interior is amazing, our superior room was huge and decorated in exactly the Moroccan style I had imagined. The whole team in the Riad were very accommodating, if you want something, just ask. The pool was great to cool off after a day in the souks or out on a trip. If I were to come back to Marrakech, I wouldn't hesitate in booking this place again without looking at anything else.

The Riad itself is beautiful and also the location is very central, so good to explore the city. We really liked the pool area and also the roof top terrace. The breakfast was included. It was good, but we had better ones, with cheaper prices. We had a room in the first floor, it was also very beautiful. The service is good, and the waitresses are nice.
There was only one thing, what we didn't like: During our stay we had every day the impression that we should buy or consume something in the hotel, basically i understand it to try to make money, but nevertheless it produces a unpleasant mood for guests. The prices in the hotel are pretty high and you have to pay for each extra thing.
The communication is also sometimes a little bit difficult, because the staff is not that good in english, so its partly difficult to understand what staff or owner wants.

Room Tip: We had the cheapest room, and it was really nice and big

You have book in last minute, and you benefit from a deal price.
Upon your arrival we upgraded you to a superior room to make you a surprise, and that without knowing you, did you say thank you? No.
We think you are just looking for a price and enjoying a great place without taking advantage of the spa and its restaurant. Our profession offer you the benefits of the riad is nothing wrong! Whether you prefer to go to the medina you are free, we have and do our job.
We have been awarded the 17-year Excellence Award on Trip Advisor and again this year 2017 so thank you to all our dear customers who support us and know what it is like to run a business.
You blame us for asking yourself in the morning if you dine or lunch is a normal thing, and we are at your disposal 24 hrs x 24 We are a guest house and make fresh produce every morning. No customers complain about the contrary. We have been working with the biggest tour operators and wince of the world for 17 years and have only reminders of their superb shares. The important thing is that my staff does everything for the good of the customers and me even sylvie the manager ..

This riad is from the XVIII and has been a great job, thankfully all our guests thank us for their stay as this riad is for them happiness and beautiful amenities. I think your type of holiday is more hotels all inclusive !.

Stayed here for two days and were greeted by Sylvie who is a very friendly and hospitable owner/manager. The riad is decorated beautifully and fully restored by her, food was great and so was breakfast. The rooms were great as well also located close to Jema El Fnaa so in the medina if you want to be close to the souks.

First time in Marrakech, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless and top-notch from the airport transfer to room accommodations to dining on the rooftop at sunset. I highly recommend both the riad for atmosphere and food. Thank you Esprit du Maroc, we will be back!
