“Beautiful Riad Anya”
Reviewed 17 September 2013

We stayed here for 3 nights in the Sahara room. Its in a central location and within easy walking distance of the souks, palaces and restaurants. The room was lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful, from booking taxis, advising and booking restaurants, and highlighting areas of interest, there was no end to their helpfulness. Worth noting, is that although the area was very safe and my daughter and i did not feel threatened we were slightly alarmed on arrival when the taxi stopped and we were ushered out with our cases and told to walk. We later discovered the road was too narrow for the taxi, and it was only a very short distance, but for the first time it was a little unnerving!
The only downside to our stay was that the breakfast was a little disappointing...nice bread but we only had a piece of fruit on one morning and the rest was comprised of a piece of cake and some strange mini pancake with jam and butter. The orange juice was good though.
In all, a lovely tranquil feel to the place, and a beautiful Riad. I would definitely stay there again.

Stayed in riad for 4 nights - highly recommended. Staff were friendly and helpful, and Annie and her husband "très sympathiques". The rooms were beautifully decorated and clean, breakfast was tasty. Location was ideal - out of the hustle and bustle of the souks, yet very close to all the main sites. A very cosy oriental atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My niece and I booked Riad Anya online after having seen the great reviews it certainly lived up to the reviews
It’s located in a small alley close to the palace and a 10 minute walk from the main square. We were quite nervous on our first evening walking to the Medina as there were seemed to be lots of groups of men around but we weren’t hassled and felt completely safe
Behind the heavy entrance door we found the decor of the Riad Anya absolutely beautiful ,very quiet and peaceful and cool. Our twin room was on the first floor and was roomy, clean and comfortable, plenty of room in the bathroom too ! the AC is a must. We had a small table on the balcony outside where I just sat and chilled out every morning. There is plenty of comfortable seating hidden around the Riad too , perfect for lazing around in heat. as it was so hot during the day we spent a fair amount of time just relaxing on the loungers on the roof, occasionally going down to the pool for a swim it’s a great area to watch the sun go down too.
Breakfast served on the terrace was delicious with a different selection every day, the Riad also offered evening meals but we were too busy shopping to try!
Everyone made us feel really welcome, they were all very friendly and helpful, we felt that nothing would be too much trouble. We felt cared for and pampered. So a BIG thank you to everyone
I would highly recommend this Riad and can’t wait to return.

So often we want to get the real sense of a place we visit, yet end up feeling like tourists. Our stay at Riad Anya was so delightful ,so comforting, and let us live for a few days in a beautiful dream of Morocco. (with air conditioned rooms) The best part was the staff. They were so gracious and helpful, going the extra mile to make us comfortable. The building is beautiful, wth its quiet alcoves, lovely roof garden, refreshing pool. Breakfast was very nice, and the night we had dinner (reserve in the morning) the food was delicious. And we were able to order a bottle of Moroccan wine - very good. Please visit this lovely part of Marrakech.

I went to Riad Anya having found it online and seen great reviews - and surely enough, it lived up to the positive press I had read. The decor is beautiful and the staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful (thank you so much to Aicha & Khalil). We stayed in the Chegrui Double room and it was lovely. I was in Morocco with my friend & we both felt like Princess Jasmine from Aladdin when we were in the Riad. The sun terrace is fantastic - we ate breakfast up here and there are also sunbeds that I had a good 3 hour tanning session on - it was perfect! There was also a hot tub and hammam etc but I didn't try them out. On my last night there I had dinner at the Riad - and it was amazing! Definitely to the standard of the high end restaurants that I had spent much more at the other nights. The area is good too, very close to the Medina and a lot of other cool tourist spots. At first my friend and I had a little culture shock because of the area but we soon realized that it was actually really nice - and safe since its so close to the new palace of the king, so there is a lot of security. My stay in Morocco wouldn't have been the same if it wasn't for the staff at Riad Anya - they truly are gems. Always trying to help with any concerns, and delivering a very high level of hospitality. I would definitely stay here again, and would highly highly recommend to anyone going to Marrakesh.
