“Moroccan style with British efficiency!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 October 2011

Generally a very nice place. The photos don't do it justice. The team - especially the girls were SUPERB. I was feeling poorly during my stay and they were so kind - fetching me hot water bottles, making me breakfast past breakfast hours etc.

The only issues were that the open structure echos so can be noisy at night if people are up drinking on the terrace late at night. Also you feel a little trapped when the souk doors are closed at 8pm - need to get taxis to get anywhere

I did like the limited no. of rooms - 6 i believe - very personal! Elizabeth answered my questions pre-arrival within 5mins of sending. Moroccan style with British efficiency!!

Kamal also gives you a very nice welcome and initial walk to the souk so as not to get lost, although we did feel a bit of a hard sell for the dinner in the riad - we declined - but actually it looked superb - maybe a mistake!!

NB shower in the ground floor does not drain so floods every time used - mentioned to one of the girls on day one but not addressed - i'd avoid the ground floor room for noise reasons to be honest

Room Tip: Shower in the ground floor does not drain so floods every time used - mentioned to one of the girls...

**************OUTSTANDING***************
Get yourself booked up here! Riad Elizabeth will not fail you! I had a big party of friends and family, including a little girl of 6 years old for my Wedding day! Owners John and Elizabeth could not do enough for all of us, and staff at the Riad. Even leading up to my wedding day, their communication was brilliant. They really did go the extra mile. The decor is just beautiful and the photos dont show the pure beauty this Riad is! Its luxury here and I do believe this place is worth every penny! You are close enough to the main square, yet far enough away. The food was incredible, the service and knowledge off all was so helpful. Arranging transfers or meals out etc, not a problem! The bedrooms are stunning. Our wedding service was magical. I could go on forever. Its a real personal service from Riad Elizabeth. We would like to go back for sure. You will not be disappointed - thats a promise!!!!!

A truly lovely Riad & ideally situated for exploring the Medina. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners John & Elizabeth. Kamal was always very friendly & helpful with any advice needed & all the staff were very welcoming.
The food was lovely & the buffet served at the wedding we were attending was superb. Taxi's from & to the Airport were arranged on request & also to & from a local restaurant. The alleyways in the area can be a bit daunting but again Kamal was happy to act as a guide.
The roof terrace is absolutely ideal for lazing around & soaking up the sun & also superb as a Wedding setting. Extremely peaceful up there despite the hustle & bustle in the streets below. We would happily recommend & also return ourselves.

The first impressions of Riad Elizabeth are of a well-run, extremely well kept home that you've been invited to stay in. My partner and I had the smallest room on the ground floor, next to the swimming pool and entrance. Never once were we disturbed, and our door was never locked. We and our possessions felt safe and our privacy respected.

We arrived late on our first night and opted ahead of time for dinner on the terrace. We had a magnificent meal in a wonderful open setting. The cook at Riad Elizabeth is fantastic, and we had an amazing introduction to the local cuisine.

The following morning we were guided by Kamal who gave us a map and helped us learn our bearings. This was very useful as getting lost is easy around the narrow and similar-looking streets of the Medina.

Breakfast is simple and straight forward, but in a hot climate one perhaps doesn't require much. There were plenty of games and books available on the terrace for those afternoons you wanted to sunbathe.

The owners Elizabeth and John are extremely friendly and helpful. They suggested places to visit and restaurants to eat at. We wanted a day sightseeing outside of Marrakech, and they booked a driver for us to visit the stunning Atlas Mountains - a well recommended venture.

The swimming pool on the bottom floor is decorative, but as it's freezing cold not particularly practical, except for cooling your feet off at the end of a long day's walking.

Overall we had an amazing stay, full of great memories, and we would be happy to stay again!

Room Tip: The rooms on the higher levels are larger.

Riad Elizabeth is perfectly located (once you've cracked the maze) just away from the main sites north of the souk.
For the first few nights we had the Riad to ourselves and we're looked after perfectly by the team. Kamal was generous with his time and sharing his expertise and love of Marrakech, having been born and raised near the Riad. We had a 'mission impossible' to find some tiles for our house back in England and Kamal stepped in and helped us arrange the deal and sort shipping (hopefully they're arriving this week!)
The rooms are nicely decorated, big enough to store all our gear, with a refreshing shower and cooling air con - perfect as temperatures were mid 40s in early September.
Breakfast was good, freshly made and served on the rooftop.
Would highly recommend this as a home from home and great escape from the enjoyable madness of Marrakech

We had a lovely stay at Riad Elizabeth. John and Elizabeth were so welcoming and friendly, and all the staff - Kamal and the lovely ladies - were wonderful. Riad Elizabeth is in a great location just a few minutes walk from the Medina, but also very handy as cars/taxis have access very close to the riad. Riad Elizabeth is a gorgeous riad the bedrooms are lovely with rose petals scatted throughout which is a nice touch. I would certainly recommend Riad Elizabeth to famiy and friends and I'm sure we'll be back again soon.
