This was our first visit to Marrakech and we are so glad that we choose a Riad as opposed to one of the hotel chains. Riad Elizabeth is excellent, in a fantastic location within easy walking distance of the suks etc. yet it is quiet enough to get away from the hussle and bussle. The riad has been painstakingly restored by the English owners to a very high standard, it is a charming building and spotlessly clean. The riad staff are wonderful, absolutely nothing was too much trouble, this place has a very happy feel to it, we decided to eat in the riad on our first night and enjoyed a wonderful supper under the stars on the roof terrace, perfect. Breakfast was a delight, fresh orange juice, great coffee and an array of local pastries, breads etc. all made in house. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, we felt very safe, pampered and it was excellent.

We have just returned from three fabulous nights at the Riad Elizabeth. Having read reviews of the Riad on various sites before we booked, we had high expectations of the Riad and I can confirm that they were well and truly exceeded.

The Riad is beautifully decorated, the rooms are stylish and attention to detail is impeccable. The convienient location of the Riad provided an ideal base for exploring Marrakech. On our first day, Kamal (the Riad manager) guided us to the main square to get our bearings. He also arranged various excursions for us during our stay and was always only a phone call away should we get lost!
Everything about our stay was perfect thanks to the warm hospitality Elizabeth, John, Kamal and staff at the Riad.

Arrived on a Saturday evening after having been picked up by a taxi transfer arranged by the Riad. No problems in arriving at the Riad Elizabeth and a warm friendly welcome by Kamal the manager who introduced us to the Riad and our room. Dinner was arranged on the roofterrace and after having a good night sleep we were accompagnied for our first walk in the Medina on the next morning. After this introduction we were not having any difficulties in finding our way back to the Riad. All in all we had a wonderful stay in the Riad. What really stood out were the friendliness and help on all Marrakech matters by John and Elizabeth and their manager Kamal, the excellent breakfast and a fine roof terrace in the middle of the Medina but far away enough to be quiet. Are there any negative points? Yes of course there are ( WiFi signal is weak and sometimes the Riad is a little noisy), but if you really would like an orignal Riad stay, this one can not be recommended high enough. Would we return?......YES.

I booked out the entire Riad for my wedding over NYE 2010/11 after it was recommended to me by Sonia Day at Marrakech Weddings (http://www.marrakechweddings.co.uk).
The Riad was beautiful and the owners were extremely helpful. They helped me make my special day exactly how I wanted it.
Kamaal, the manager, was the stand out star though. He went above and beyond the call of duty and I will always remember him. He personally came in the taxi with us to the camel rides to haggle a good price for us.
As with all Raids, the centre of the building is open to the air. Thus noise travels easily, so the Riad is not suitable for noisy children or students/backpackers who want to enjoy the roof terrace all night long!
However, it is perfect for couples and if a large family wants to book out the entire place, like we did.
If I ever go back to Marrakech, which I almost certainly will, I would definitely stay at Riad Elizabeth again.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Riad Elizabeth and to be honest I would quite happily come stay again! We were a party of 13 this time and had the whole Riad to ourselves. Last time we were a party of 4 and met some lovely people also staying in the Riad. We chose (once again) to have our celebratory meal cooked by the Riads excellent cooks and to be honest, the food cannot be beaten elsewhere. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff (who become your immediate friends without any weird feelings!), from advising you where to go, to booking restaraunts, baths, taxis etc. The rooms are lovely! Comfortable, clean, cosy and practical.
We had a lovely rapport with John and Elizabeth who are very easy going people with a great sense of fun about them and got on with all of us. All our group agreed they were lovely people and looked after their staff with the utmost respect for them and their culture. We all want to go back as there are still things to do, places to see. One thing is for sure though...we'll be staying at the Elizabeth again!! Thank you John and Elizabeth and team for making my best gal's 40th birthday perfect! Sarah

We just returned from the Riad Elizabeth where we spent 4 nights with family and friends and where John officiated our son's wedding. Wow! What can I say? John and Elizabeth have created a beautiful place to stay where you feel like you are in your own home without having to do any work. Their manager Kamal is available to organize any and all excursions and to answer any questions. The location cannot be beat with minutes walk to the amazing souk. The riad itself is impeccably clean and charming with a mixture of British and Moroccan flair. John and Elizabeth let you know that this if your home during your stay and that is certainly conveyed in their treatment of their guests. They are present to greet you on arrival and are sad to see you go when you leave. You feel like you are leaving friends behind when it is time to go. As for the wedding, John and Elizabeth made our son's wedding absolutely everything that the bride and groom had wanted it to be. What could be better than a rooftop wedding in Marrakech?

This Riad is without a shadow of doubt the best place to stay inside the craziness of Marrakech's Medina walls. In fact, this hotel wouldnt be out of place in the worlds most swankiest hotel guide book. Attention to detail is very high on the agenda, and has the most welcoming & relaxing atmosphere, owed to the most hospitable owners John and Elizabeth, not forgetting the fantastic manager Kamal. His local know how proved very valuable and interesting ;-)
