“Wonderful celebration”
Reviewed 16 May 2014 via mobile

I booked a table to celebrate my partner's bday and we enjoyed it the whole experience.
We were allocated a great table, the menu had a great selection of local food, 3 courses for 250DM. All very well presented, spaced out so we could enjoy both entertainment.
The restaurant decor is also very nice and authentic.
Highly recommended!!!

“Great atmosphere, OK food”
Reviewed 8 May 2014

It is touristic - but in the best sense of the word. If you are looking for a fun dinner with atmosphere - ornate, old school grand building, with traditional entertainment (belly dancing, acrobatics, traditional music) that is fun and doesn't distract if you want to carry on conversation as well - well then you have found it. The food was forgettable, aside from the roast lamb (order 1 day before, for 2 people) which was absolutely delicious and enough for 3 or 4 hungry people. The desserts are not very good - the rice pudding was drenched in orange blossom water and the crepes are of the bad breakfast variety they serve everywhere in Morocco. Cost about 30 euro each with wine, which we thought was a good value.

“Very nice restaurant”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

It's a very nice resturant. The food is fantastic, although it'd had helped if they had told us that what we were ordering was way too much for us.
We also got too late for the spectacle, but they were still playing some music.

“Minor dance show and average food in a nice setting”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

We asked our riad manager where to go to see belly dancing and he recommended this place. Its been around since 1952, so they are pretty well established. Its a massive place, with several large dining rooms, each capable of seating 10-12 tables of 4-6 people. Very nicely done up too. The prices are on the high side, but then it includes the show as well. There was live music played for a while and then there were two belly dancing acts, one with a candle-lit tray balanced on the dancer's head. Quite impressive. Food was of average taste.

“Heaps of fun”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

Great decor, friendly staff, entertaining music and dancers. Enjoyed seeing my son dance with the belly dancer and thought the lady balancing the candles and teapots on her head was pretty nimble. Think people who write that they are unimpressed by that ought to try it for themselves. She was swirling around on the floor and keeping it all perfectly balanced. I didn't have super high expectations of the food so it was nice that it was better than I'd expected. Large portions of traditional Moroccan fare of a pretty decent quality. The set meal wasn't super cheap but I had one and shared the starters and desert with the rest of my family, who just had entrees, and we all ate bountifully from that. Was such a lively and fun atmosphere to celebrate my birthday with my friends and family. Yes it is touristy but it's a beautiful setting with a fun atmosphere. Not for snobs.
