“4th time!”
Reviewed 17 April 2012

I have just returned from 5 days where I'd taken 3 friends to experience everything the Riad has to offer and they were not disappointed. They all plan to return with their partners. It was my 4th time there and I enjoy it more each time as I get to know the wonderful team a little better. This time we had dinner at the Riad which was a really lovely experience with delicious food by Meriem, will definitely do that again. Once again, a very big thank you to Michele and Grant and all their Team for their hard work and attention to detail which ensures everyone has such a good stay. Not forgetting Zac who provides such good entertainment and fun! See you all soon.

The reviews say it all, Michele and Grant are the perfect hosts, Michele is extremely generous with her time and attention to detail; she will help you with where to shop, eat, etc. The riad couldn't possibly be more beautifully decorated with much art to admire... I fell in love with the traditional doors used for the bathrooms! The service was impeccable, I especially loved the fresh fruit left in our room every day and the djellabas (traditional robes) left for us to lounge around in. The chef Meriem (sorry if I spelled that wrong!) is incredible and I highly recommend her pastillas, the chicken as well as the vegetable were the best dishes I ate in Marrakech. This was my first stay but for sure it won't be my last!!!!

Room Tip: Some rooms (like the Merenid Suite) have 2 sinks in the bathroom, as well as twin beds that can be p...

We had an amazing time at Riad Assakina. The rooms, service and experience were amongst the very best but at half the cost!

The hotel owners, Grant and Michele were the perfect hosts. Their attention to detail is deeply impressive. It's not surprising when you realise Grant was a senior partner in a top city law firm (top notch client handling) and Michele was a high profile interior designer (superb eye for detail).

They must be doing something right as every guest we met were on their third or fourth visit back.

Can't recommend this place enough. I just wish Grant and Michele would open a hotel in every major city. We wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Dear Grant & Michele, thank you so much for your hospitality, you really make people fill like home! Riad is one of the most beautiful, cozy and comfortable places I ever visited. Everything is made with such a great taste! Rooms are so beautifully decorated, breakfast is delicious, sunny terrace is just amazing! Riad is the real hidden gem in the center of dusty Marrakesh.

My husband and I stayed in the Almoravid Suit which is one room and an en-suite; lovely decor. The rooms are extremely comfortable and of a very high standard. The breakfasts are excellent, particularly the lemon croissants!! Grant & Michele are genuinely friendly and helpful people who are full of recommendations should you need anything. The wine in the Riad is very fairly priced compared to the restaurants in the area. The room is cleaned to a high standard every day with a turn down service at night. All the staff are so helpful and courteous; you do not want for anything. The tea and pastries served from 4pm are a nice touch. The roof top terrace is a lovely place to relax away from the madness of the Souks. If you choose to book here, you will not be disappointed. Well worth every penny spent with a plethora of personal touches that made all of the difference. Not only have we found a great base for any future visit to Marrakech, but we have met some lovely people along the way. Do not hesitate to book here!!

Room Tip: Go for rooms on the first floor as breakfast may disturb late risers.

My brother and myself invited my parents for a long weekend in Marrakech and chose this place to stay at. From the upfront assistance (restaurants etc.) of Grant to the lovely "thank-you" mail of Michele we enjoyed a perfect stay. In between we found a beautifully decorated Riad in an excellent shape, extremely friendly, very service-oriented staff, a great breakfast, a very cool roof terrace - all that in an ideal location of let's say 10 minutes walk from THE square. Financials are handled generous incl. alcoholic drinks at a fair rate. Go there, you will never regret it but want to come back.

My husband and I were lucky enough to stay in this beautiful Riad for 5 nights in March. After three days on the move, walking into Riad Assakina was like walking into a haven. Naoual and Hicham looked after our every needs (Michelle was away for a few days). Nothing was too much trouble for them.
Michelle returned three days into our stay, and you can see why she has such great staff. She is a lovely person who makes you feel like a friend not a guest. Always happy to chat and answer any questions or queries you may have.
If you do stay make sure you have a look in her boutique upstairs some beautiful caftans and jewellery are to be found!!
We stayed in the Kiad suite which was lovely and had a great big, very comfortable bed!!
Enjoyed gin and tonics up on the terrace after a crazy day in Marrakech before heading out to one of the great recommended restaurants.
On our last night we were lucky enough to have a meal cooked for us by the chef, Meriem, and it was one of the best meals we had in Morocco. The next morning we left before breakfast so Hicham and had fixed us a breakfast picnic bag, so thoughtful.
You will not be disappointed if you stay here it really is perfect!!
