Definitely recommend this lovely Riad - quietly located in the Jewish quarter and close to the palace and within easy walking distance of the souks. Owners were very hospitable and helpful. We had a wonderful stay!

I chose this Riad from TA as a surprise wedding anniversary trip with my wife. We could not have chosen better. It all started with a very friendly and helpful exchange of emails. The welcome at the door from Michele and Grant was as if we were old friends returning for the umpteenth time. The decor was stunning - Michele is an interior designer and it showed. Every room exquisitely decorated. Our room was most comfortable and spotlessly clean. We ordered a light supper for the first night, and enjoyed it so much, so had our anniversary dinner at the Riad on our own in the most romantic setting in the dining room. The food was outstanding. Grant made sightseeing easy for us by giving us maps, and spending time with us discussing where we should go and how to get there. He booked taxis and restaurants for us, told us how to get around the souk and what to look for and what not to look for. We would certainly go back and definitely recommend our friends to stay nowhere else other than in Riad Akassini. Why can we not give it 6 stars on this website?

Whitsunday weekend we spend in Marrakech for 5 nights. It was an hard choice between all the riads, but this was really the perfect place. It deserves every good review that is on this site. There is absolutely nothing about this place that is not nice.

After a busy and hot day in the medina this is the perfect place to come back to. You will be welcomed by Michelle and Grant and their staff. With the complimentary tea and sweets we relaxed on the roof terrace and if there was anything else we needed, there was always somebody to help us.

We stayed at the almoravid suite and this looks exactly like to pictures on the website. Really beautiful!

If you need shopping tips? Michelle has the best places to go to. If you want advise where to go for dinner? Grant will make a reservation for you and the taxi will be arranged to take you there.

Before arriving in Marrakech we had a lot of wild plans, for example going on a day trip to the mountains. But Riad Assakina is just so nice, we decided to just stay in. We'll visit the mountains an other time.

Also nice to no is that there is wireless internet available (for free). My husband had to work for bit during the trip, but could take is laptop to the rooftop and work from there.

Grant and Michelle, thanks for the warm welcome and perfect stay. We will recommend you to all our dutch friends. And if you are opening a place in Tuscany, just let us know. We will be there to visit you!

This place really does deserve the glowing reviews it gets. It is rare that one will find a place that provides the personal attention that the Riad Assakina does.

Michele and Grant have gone out of their way to make sure their guests enjoy themeselves. Michele decorated the place herself and it really is fantastic. No detail is overlooked. One or the other will show you around the area. There is a lovely rooftop area where you can relax with a cold beverage at the end of the day. Mohamed, the young man who works at the riad in the evenings, is most friendly and accommodating. I now wish I spent more time hanging around the riad than I did! It is relaxing and beautiful.

If you're going to go to Marrakech, make sure you stay in a riad.
If you're going to stay in a riad, make sure you stay at this one!

We had read many of the reviews before arriving at Assakina, but there was still that nervous feeling when you arrive by taxi. Marrakech challenges your senses, but from the moment our cases were whisked up to our room while we shared a mint tea in the sumptuous lounge with Michelle, we new we were in the perfect place.
As well as making us at ease, Michelle gave us a briefing on the Medina of Marrakech and soon we were armed with a marked up map and out on the streets.
Despite the intensity of the place and the maze of the Medina we were able to follow Michelle's instructions and get our bearings arriving in the main square to the most amazing sites of Snake Charmers and story tellers and the cheapest most beautiful freshly squeezed oranges for 3 Dirhams (less than 30p a glass)
The Souk is intimidating until you tune into it - then bargains are there to be had.

Back to the Riad to relax - the staff are superb - breakfast was wonderful - afternoon tea and pastries on the roof terrance between 4 and 5 ish (free) were brillaint.

Each evening we had a sundowner served by Mohammad the guardian who doesnt go to sleep until you are safely in.

All in all a beautiful relaxing home from home - the decoration is exquisite, the service superb - it was faultless.

Thank you Michelle

I recently booked Riad Assakina for my husbands 50th Birthday, we had an amazing time. Grant Michelle and the staff bent over backwards to make sure that our 3 night stay and birthday party were very memorable. The party started on the roof with cocktails and snake charmers and continued downstairs with a belly dancer and local musicians, the food was some of the best in Marrekech. Michelle has a great eye for detail and each room is beautifully decorated with very comfortable beds. We would definitely recommend this riad for style, service, price and location.

We were so thankful to finish our Morocco trip at Riad Assakina in Marrakech. We would not hesitate to go back again one day. We chose all our riads through excellent Tripadvisor reviews, that were saying, how everything was perfect, nice hosts etc. and this was mostly true, but compared to the other places you cannot imagine how perfect Riad Assakina was. Our hosts, Michelle and Grant, topped absolutely everything. Five stars is by far not enough for their amazing service and kindness.

Here some information you might be interested in:
- Grant makes a lovely introduction when arriving at the riad (we love the English sense of humor)
- Riad Assakina is located in the quiet Jewish part of the medina and is a very good starting point for discovering the medina
- Michelle hands you a very useful self-composed shopping map and responds to all your questions (so helpful)
- Very nice staff doing their max to fulfil your wishes like laying the breakfast table wherever you want or filling up the Jacuzzi etc.
- Beautiful, refreshing pool downstairs, romantic small pool on the roof top
- Perfect roof terrace to enjoy the last shafts of sunlight and a fantastic patio romantically illuminated to take an aperitif or enjoying the warm nights after dinner
- Well organised taxi service to bring you to chic restaurants (the recommendations always matched our taste) a bit outside of the medina (with fix driver and fix fare)
- Compared to other riads, the rooms are quite spacious with good-working air-condition, comfortable beds with nice linen etc.
- Everything is neat and continuously maintained
- Every room is decorated with a lot of taste giving you cool shopping ideas
- Everything looks exactely like on the official website

There is not much to add….it’s cosy, it’s personal, it’s a bit like home. Grant and Michelle, we wish you all the best with your project and hope to see you again soon.
