First of all if you have booked here dont worry about the negative reviews. I am sure any level headed holiday maker will have a brilliant time at this hotel.

Its a funny one as most of my post below is positive and i would have to be really picky to find much at fault. I think the Hotel is missing the X factor and maybe that can only be achieved with time. ( New Hotel ).

I put it down to the hotel being newish. The location ( very close to the road ) and the gardens although lovely will look so much better in 10 years when established.

But >> and this is what you want to read.

The hotel is spotlessly clean. Even public area toilets cleaned what seems like on a loop.

Bedrooms are large comforatble with all you would ever need.

Food is amazing. If your here for a week then there is so much variety. Its all hot and fresh and we never had any trouble booking the speciality restaurants and enjoyed all three. Salads - Tagine Dishes - Meat grill section - pasta section and desserts all really tasty and we had no cause to complain about the food.

The main bar was a bit smoky but i think thats because we are now used to no smoking public areas. As non smokers it was ok for a short time ( Pre dinner ) and then easy enough to find somewhere to sit away from the smokers should we desire. The beer was quite good - the wine more than passable and the drinks all looked great ( My missus got quite keen on the Vodka Martinis!! ).

The pool is fine now and is refreshing to get in out of the hot sun. The pool scene is geared up to families and if your expecting a romantic holiday for 2 be prepared for noisy splashing kids who are playing and endless music for Aqua Gym etc etc. It didnt bother us as we have been in that situation before with a young family although now we holiday as a couple as our son has fled the nest so to speak. If you like getting involved the animation team are really good and no pressure to join in although there is an abundance of activity - Aqua Gym - Table Tennis - Darts - Bingo - football - tennis - french bowls.

The same day team run the entertainment at night and take it at face value ( Its free !! )

The Rat pack tribute was great and everynight you can spend 90 minutes or so in the various shows and theme nights they arrange.

I read one review who said Butlins with sun. I think that is very harsh on this hotel as it certainly is way way better than that. I do agree however that there is just the magic touch thats missing and its really difficult to put down exactly what that is. I guess you get what you pay for and just remember how little you paid for what really is all inclusive from the minute you step of the plane.

In summary - Had a great time and the hotel really does try its best. Food great - staff soooo friendly and helpful. Its clean / tidy and our week passed very quickly and we had a lovely time.

Would i go back? possibly for some North African winter sun and amazing value. Is it the best hotel i have stayed at - No - but the really really good hotels that have all the above and the X factor usually come with double the price tag!!. remember that and have a super time in a really nice place. I have tried to be as honest and fair as i can and i think you can trust this review if your due to fly out here on holiday.

We visited ClubHotel Riu Tikida Palmeraie on an All Inclusive Basis with Thomson (I'm not sure if you are able to stay here on a different board basis) in June 2011.

We can't disagree with the majority of positive reviews of this hotel on Tripadvisor. Considering the cost of this holiday the facilities and food were good and represents excellent value for money. The hotel is spacious, incredibly clean with wonderfully manicured gardens and friendly, helpful staff.

In addition to the positive aspects mentioned above, it was great to have the choice of three Restaurants to eat in the evening (the main Restaurant, traditional Morroccan and Italian, the latter two you need to book the day prior) as part of the All Inclusive package. There was a fantastic choice of food, so all tastes should be catered for.

The one major downside for us was the fact that there is only one large pool. Although we were aware of this before booking, what we weren't prepared for was the constant stream of entertainment around the pool throughout the day; Darts, aqua aerobics, ping pong tornament to name but a few. All activies are centered around the main pool and are loudly and regularly announced on the tanoy system. So even if you don't want to take part you are unable to escape the noise and comotion. Fine if you want to join in, not so fine if you're looking relaxation with your book on your lounger! If they had a quiet area/pool this hotel would have scored more highly, but as such only scores 4 out of 5 for us.

There were only a few other small niggles that we had and that was you didn't have the option of eating outside for breakfast or dinner unless you were a smoker which was a shame. NOTE that smoking is permitted in the main areas of the hotel.

The rooms were very well proportioned, each with their own balcony. however the bathrooms seem a little dated in style, but perfectly functional.

Finally, the plus side for us, as we are cat lovers, is the hotel has a number of Hotel cats, all of which looked in excellent condition and were allowed to run freely around the hotel. I think these were the lucky ones as I can't imagine they are very well treated in other parts of Marrakech.

All in all this hotel represents excellent value for money, which is only three hours flight from the UK and has the same time zone. Would we return....probably not, only due to the fact of the butlins style entertainment around the pool whereas we prefer a quiet relaxing holiday. For others this may well be the draw, that and alcohol and lots and lots of food should you want it.

From start to finish this holiday is possibly one of the best we have ever had.

The food, the staff, the rooms and the gardens all scream 5 star and we would return to this hotel in a heartbeat.

From the greeting on arrival which was efficient and well organised to the day of departure nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.

Our room was well appointed, spacious and very well decorated. Huge room, with excellent wardrobe space, good quality balcony and balcony furniture, views across the endless gardens and always peaceful. Toilet and bidet are separate to the bathroom, which is a nice touch. Safety deposit box is large enough to take a normal sized laptop and is set with your own 4 digit sceurity code. Cleaned every day, plus fresh linen, towels and scattered rose petals, all add to the atmosphere.

Dining is well thought out, breakfast is taken in the main dining room between 7 and 10 each morning, and the food is of excellent choice. Pancakes, crepes, fruit, salad, breads, croissants, preserves, cheeses, egg station which does the best omlettes..........plus, pots of tea and coffee with jugs of hot and cold milk to take to your table.......another lovely touch.
You can take a later breakfast if you choose from 10 until noon at the "Trattoria" which serves a continental fayre. This can be taken on the terrace overlooking the pool, so you can sip your coffee whilst soaking up the early morning rays............

Lunch is also taken at the "Trattoria" from 12.30 until 15.30.......Soup of the day, paninnis, sandwiches, salads, freshly cooked tagines, cous cous, rice, breads, pizzas that the Italians would be jealous of and of course the inevitable chips..........Ice cream is sevred here all afternoon too, and the pistachio is, according to MOH the "Best"...he ate his own body weight of the stuff...bless!
Snacks here from 15.30 until 17.30, and then sorry folks, you have to wait a full 90 minutes before the evening meals are served in the main restaurant.........such a hardship!!
The meals of an evening are lovely, 3 cooking stations, a vegetarian area too. Massive amounts of freshly cooked sauces and meats, and as always a choice of wine by glass or bottle to have at your table. Candles adorn each table and the waiters will fetch and carry anything you should want. Tea,coffee and water is always available too.
Sunday morning is Champagne and smoked salmon for breakfast, and the Head Chef serves everyone, he is a real character, and will willingly explain anything you need to know about any Moroccan recipe.............A lovely guy, and Thankyou.x

The entertainment team are wonderful. They put a different show on every evening, and the "That's Live" show, which is a tribute to the Rat Pack was very good indeed. A full house, and enjoyed by all. The management get involved too, and sing and play with everyone.........Lovely.
The Crazy Show and Around the World are also worth a look. The team are willing, enthusiastic and are getting better at each event. Sara is lovely, and she will give cuddles to everyone. She is wonderful with the little ones too.
The Gypsey Band also plays outside the main eating area each evening, so you can sip your G&T to some light music before tucking into your dinner. Another nice little touch.

The Managers cocktail party on Friday evenings is a entertaining hour of the early evening. You are greeted by all the staff and introduced to all the management. Champagne, cocktails and nibbles are served, a band plays and you are whisked onto the floor by staff and guests alike............Good fun and really enjoyable.

The Gardens of this hotel are possibly the best we have ever seen.............Stunning.
The walk around the perimiter walls and through the courtyards are breathtaking. The Jacarandas,Hibiscus,Bouganville'.Roses, Sunflowers and Palm Trees adorn every possible space of these vast gardens, and are tended like babies by the ever present gardners..............A credit. The Rock Pools are home to our croaking coloquial friends...and the "Frog Chorus" starts every evening at dusk....not a great lover of these creatures, but even I have to admit that I sidestepped to let the baby ones pass.

The Spa, Indoor Pool and Gym are well used and are of good quality. Set in their own buildings, and staff are always available to explain anything you may wish to know.

The Pool area is massive. Pool cold, pool swim up bar is well maintained, and serves a mean Coco-Loco.............lip smackingly yummy.....

The Courtesy Bus is a terrific touch, and does save you countless pennies. It runs 6 times a day, and the last one back is now 20.00 hours. Book your time slots the day before to secure a place, as the trips are always full.
Taxis are plentiful outside the main gates, and we had a Taxi Driver take us to the Jardin Majorelle and shopping for the whole afternoon. He waited for us outside the gardens and then took us back to the hotel for £20..............so ask and secure a price, but they are friendly helpful and very courteous, and they take great pride in telling you about Marrakech...................

Jemma El Fna square is Jaw droppingly amazing..............mopeds,bikes,donkeys,pedestrians,tourists and souk owners all going about their business.............Hustle,Bustle craziness, and every so often tranquility.....just amazing. The snake charmers, the monkeys and the little mongooses are all on show, although we didn't really go in their direction too often, too busy jumping out of the way of the moped riders...beep beep!!!

The open topped tourist bus was a good trip out, we used it for the full day, and got on and off where and when we fancied. The Menara Gardens are really not that much anymore, but I would guess at one time they would have been beautiful. The camels on the entrance are tempting to some who fancy a bumpy ride, but it was too hot, although the little baby camel was cute and got lots of photographic attention.
The whole of the Medina is a magical mystery tour, and you never know what is around any corner...................a true joy though.

All in all we had a holiday to remember, and Morocco is somewhere we would return to without a second thought. Wonderful people, creative and talented craftsmen, tempting food and beautiful weather (well, most of the time)

Our stay was so enjoyable, the hotel was everything and more, and although there were a couple of little things that maybe could be improved on, well, noone gets it right all the time, and really I am sure this very young hotel will improve over time like a good wine.

May I thank Asma, Adil, Sara and the wonderful Head Chef..............you are a credit.

See you all very soon. x

Most reviews I do are detailed but this one isn't. There was nothing we could fault, our stay was first class, the best by far of our trips to Morocco.
The food is excellent and soooo much choice, the staff friendly and helpful, the brands of drink are not cheap and local but international, the rooms were spacious and clean.
We didnt sample the evening entertainment so cannot comment. The only downside was the unseasonably high temperature at the end of August which is nothing to do with the hotel, saying that it is a dry heat which makes it bearable.
We're all looking forward to staying there again.
Highly recommended.

I have just returned from my 2nd visit to the Riu Tikida Palmerie with my partner and it was as good as the first time we visited last year!
We wanted to relax, chill out and do nothing for a week and thats exaclty what we got. Some of the staff remembered us from our first trip which I thought was amazing given they have hundreds of people coming and going each week. But hand on heart every one of the staff there whether they work in the entertainment team, in the restaurants or bars cannot do enough for you. They always have a smile for you, they never complain or look tired or like they would rather be elsewhere (like so many customer service staff do!!!)
The food is excellent and we managed to eat in the Moroccan restaurant twice during our stay - book early in your holiday as you will definatley want to go back again. The choice available at breakfast and lunchtime is great and there is always plenty to drink, with good measures too!!
We went during the half term holidays so there was quite a few children there but the kids club run by the entertainment team kept them occupied and as for beds round the pool you can always find room no matter what time you go - and if you cant the pool staff are there to help you out and get you a bed. Of course the earlier you get to the pool the more choice you have as to where to pitch yourself for the day!! But this is the case wherever you stay on holiday....surely!!

I would recommend this hotel in a second. We booked directly online with Riu and flew with Easyjet as the dates suited us better. We emailed the hotel with a few requests and they were taken care of - I cant stress enough that the staff are so helpful.

For the negative comments and reviews on here I would like to point out that this is NOT a Riu Palace, its a Club. Therefore there isnt going to be waiter service in the themed restaurants and certain things that you find in a Palace you wont find here. However, I think everything here is a higher level than other Riu Club Hotels I have stayed in.

Lastly, I cant wait for our 3rd trip here!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room near to the main building and pool
