Myself my husband and my 7 year old son stayed here for two weeks. Firstly we arrived at 09.30 at night at the hotel and was given a pleasant welcome and the tradional glass of cocktail and asked to go into the dining area for a evening meal (tip 1. we had eaten on the plane and therefore were not hungry so decided to sit in the reception and chill for a while, all other arrivals made for the dining area and left the reception empty so therefore we checked in without a delay as 3 other coaches all arrived at the same time. We made our way to our room although be it dark made a few mistakes but was guided by reception staff whom had placed themselves enroute!!!! Our luggage followed some 10 mins later with a lovely chap who was helpful as the main lighting wasnt working (no big issue for us) he immediately had a chap come fix it and the following morning a basket of fruit and drinks were placed in the mini-fridge for the trouble!!! the following morning having read previous tripadvisor reports we made for the "sunbed saga" prior to this the evening before a guest told us to be at the pool for 8.00am or our chances of getting a bed were non-existant dutifully my husband went placed our belongings and towels etc on our beds no problems not issues not "sunbed saga" and continued to do this for 10 days, no problems however he sat with a book from 07.30 am and chilled prior to going to breakfast without leaving!!!!!! ultimatley the last 4 days the RULES were changed you couldnt sit on your bed,get a bed, or funnily enough look at it untill 08.00am and if you did your belongings were removed.....at this point let me just say our things were not removed my husband then stood or sat on a chair( this was allowed) and waited untill 08.00am and put our towels etc on them....no problems or issues.
The problem seems to be those of us who place towels at 07.30am and leave them all day to go on trips etc and spoils it for the rest of the guests.......this peaked at a point and therefore pool staff removed (as told by management) all those items which had been left longer than 90mins for us this wasnt a issue and others should not be put off by this rule personally it made sense however the poor pool guys came up against some resistance and abuse for this!!!!!!! quite unacceptable in my book.
The food in the main diining area with its cooking stations was very good, pasta bar etc my son who is 7 years old and a fussy eater never went hungry .........Rui hotels restuarants are all pretty similar so new to expect this.....some might say with it being ramadam the staff were a little "sour" perhaps however the waiters and indoor bar staff were friendly and helpful.............the outside pool bar nearsest the restuaurants were however miserable as sin and didnt appear to have the same attitude but surprisling the second week the "offenders" didnt appear again and were replaced with happy smiling faces.......We ventured into Marakesh to visit the medinas one evening in 38 degree heat and for us adults not a problem for a 7 year old it was hell.........it was cultural and an experience however for me snakes, monkeys tied up with alleys full of tatt wasnt my bag....but wasnt expecting anything else and without sounding harsh wasnt prepared to spend my hard earned cash on rubbish, my opinion only many others loved the stalls and loved the haggling I had no intention of buying anything so was fine with just the experience of watching listening and the whole experience it was buzzing with all kinds of stalls from fruit to herbs to snakes and monkeys to fish meats, handbags everything it was a experience never to be missed!!!!! We also ventured to the new town and visited the posh shops such as Guess, xsara, lecoste to name but a few again it was very hot and very busy again an experience not to be missed..........We visited twice the waterpark Osiria which was clean tidy and tip 2 not busy midweek and thoroughtly enjoyed this too and my son his best days.............getting back to the hotel the pool area and seating is all very clean and tidy as are your rooms with fresh towels and flowers daily the beds however were very robust (hard) but again our opinion not everyones.... .......the gardens are well maintained and tidy.......the heat in august however reached 46 degree and from a genuine sunbed lover it was very very hot even for me......... we used the facilitites of the spa and had a relaxing massage and me a facial which was beautiful and again friendly staaf...All in all a great hotel the staff on the whole great, the rooms and decor lovley, the main reception and dining and sitting areas very ornate and relaxing............10/10.......the entertainment well what can I say its middle range to say the least you have to remeber they arent rada trained or have been in the royal ballet or massive tv popstars so for us we watched a few and decided not for us ...........I think to visit a clean smart hotel with not bad entertainment its about that go with a open opinion and not be lead by biased opinions we did and had a ball................

Excellect holiday despite 4 hour delay outbound - nightmare! Staff at hotel and reps very welcoming on our arrival at 3 am. Hotel could not fault food very nice clean hotel rooms lovely and spacious modern only fault with hotel was entertainment - even tho staff worked flat out over 12 hour days was very very random you expect international entertainment but i dont know who it wer aimed at ??? Finished really early 1030 after that nothing to do as pool bar live music finished same time too alot of people played cards(not for us) - i didnt expect nightclubs etc but it could offer something until at least 1130 / midnight . Experienced marrakesh sqaure once - was an "experience "Overall a really good holiday and met expectations for a 4* riu hotel would recommend if looking for a chill out week

We recently stayed last for two weeks. To be honest whilst the hotel was clean and the food was excellent, you can see the whole of Marrakech in three days.

We had many local animals in the room, large cockroaches were common, toads wasps and flys are everywhere. Worryingly we also had a two inch long Scorpion, which the hotel removed because I was a little scared. The locals are really friendly and the hotel staff professional and polite.

The indoor pool, gym, bars and various restuaraunts were a credit to the management, all immaculatly clean and tidy, the free wifi worked well.

Entertainment, as usual, was basic but the entertainment team tried hard.

Overall as long as bugs dont bother you, I would recommend this location, The Hotel I would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Try to be close to the pool, some rooms a 3-4 min walk from the bars.

Currently sitting in the lounge at the hotel , what can I say but absolutely perfect , for the geeks it's a 10 meg wifi link.
Food is plentiful and very good with more than enough choice.

Rooms are spotless just like the rest of the hotel.

The staff are amazing , nothing is too much trouble.

The drinks are more than fine not watered down like some all inclusive hotels I've stayed in.

The town is fine , personally haven't spent much time there.

All in all a very very good hotel

All inclusive booking deal with Thomson, hassle free regarding the arrangements, transfers etc. Good, helpful reps.
The room was big and well equipped but the beds were not very comfortable and the air conditioning kept it down to high 20's only if left on full constantly but did not cope well with the August heat.
The reception and bar area is big and spacious and used as a hang out place mostly by those wanting to use the WiFi (as this is the only part of the large complex that has any). This did not work very well (all but one router was not connected to the internet for four out of our seven days and the one that was, was struggling to cope with everyones device demands).
The staff are generally friendly and helpful (mostly - a few can be a bit jobsworth - don't expect a glass of water three minutes before opening time even if the staff are standing there doing nothing!). There is free bottled water in all rooms every day however, and more is available at the bars if you ask.
There is an hourly free shuttle bus into town each day (needed as the hotel complex is in the middle of nowhere 20 minutes drive from the town centre). You have to book 24 hours ahead and it finishes at 8pm - not particularly helpful in Ramadan when nothing gets going until then in the evening, but taxis back are generally safe plentiful and reasonable. The hotel has a 'show' every night laid on by the entertainment team, whose efforts are amusing if not Vegas level and live music in the pool bar - which is low level pub standard
Despite the large number of guests there is only one large pool and sunbathing area. This is not large enough for the number of guests. There is a hotel 'rule'of not 'claiming' sunbeds with towels etc but it is not enforced at all, and none can be found with shade after breakfast time, even though many are occupied only by the towels most of the day. There are 'animateurs' to organise games etc for kids and adults alike (if you want that sort of holiday) they are freindly and fun people. There is 'piped' music everywhere including around the pool and we found no place for peace and quiet except for in our (not very cool) room.
There is a small gym but it doesn't open until 9am so if you like a workout before breakfast it is a push to shower and make the 1030am 'deadline' for the breakfast sitting. They have two good 'hard' tennis courts and a well equipped spa complex which has excellent 'steam bath' rooms along with all the scrub/massage options which are reasonably priced for a good experience.
The food variety and quality were very good as were the restaurant (self service) staff.
In summary, if you want an easygoing family place with everything laid on and you don't intend to go outside except to visist the town square and souks for one day, then this may be the place for you. If you want a quiet, relaxing, peaceful break or want to explore Morooco a bit - it isn't really
