This hotel was a great find! For a 3 hour flight from Gatwick you are whisked away to a great hotel full of lovely, friendly people. The hotel was very clean and had everything you could wish for. Lovely clean room with flat screen TV - not that we spent much time in the room! Two bottles of water left in the room every day, fridge, safe, hair dryer! The gardens within the hotel grounds were lovely and well tended. The staff look after the cats which are happy roaming the grounds which I was very pleased to see. My Husband and I fed the cats now and again and sometimes they weren't bothered - too full! The same cannot be said when you venture into the city to witness the craziness of the Souks etc. Was upset by the sight of the thin donkeys and the chained monkeys and cant believe that in this day and age this is still permitted. Going back to the hotel though, would thoroughly recommend the hotel. The Animation Staff do a great job of putting on shows in the evening's - some were very good! During our stay, the General Manager was leaving to go to work in Spain and it was lovely to see all the staff give him a fond farewell - they look like a large happy family there! For our next visit we will probably try to go in April/May as the weather in March was not great but hey ho - cant have it all! We swam daily in the indoor pool which was lovely and warm. The pool area/bar is great with lots of sun beds and amazing double sunbeds. Food was very good and 'hot' which is always a bonus when catering on mass.

We stayed here in Feb half term, booking a last minute deal with First Choice. The hotel is about 15 mins shuttle away from the town centre. For the price, the hotel was great. The swimming pool was unusable as the weather wasn't warm enough to heat it, but that wasn't a big concern for us. We used the tennis court a couple of times, the surface is OK, but is not solid. Food was OK, not much variation over the 4 nights we were there. The wine and beer was fine, if you want a decent cocktail, I recommend you ask for one which is not a house one - they are quite a bit stronger!

We did one of the day trips to explore the surrounding area. Good photo opportunities, guide was also very knowledgeable, however there wasn't really a great deal to see, you need to go further out to the mountains I think. We did feel like the reps oversold the trips, almost putting people off of going out to the main square without a guide, which is not fair. We were not harassed at all when we went out, a simple "no" is sufficient.

Room Tip: I emailed beforehand to have a room overlooking the swimming pool, but this was not accommodated, bu...

Having read so many good reviews my wife and I had high hopes about this resort, however it failed to live up to our expectations.I know this goes against what most people have said but we can only be honest.
Firstly the good points. The staff are excellent without ever giving the impression that they are looking for tips. the hotel and grounds are immaculate and being swept and cleaned constantly. Our room was nice although the bed wasn't very comfortable and the room (4015) never got any sun so was a bit gloomy and we needed to have the lights on all day. Also as other reviewers have said some tea and coffee making facilities would have been nice. The snacks in the bar which are readily available are a nice gesture, however the bar and lobby area always smell of smoke so if you don't smoke it can be fairly unpleasant. The noise around the pool and in the lobby in the evening is way too loud so if you are looking for a relaxing break this isn't for you. There is free wifi in the lobby but sometimes you have to wander around looking for a decent signal as it doesn't seem to be in the same place all the time. We felt the food was average. You will always be able to find something to eat but there seemed to be a lack of fresh vegetables and we found ourselves eating chips on several occasions, which is something we rarely do at home, however the Moroccan food was very good. Overall we definitely wouldn't return to this resort although to be honest it is also to do with the fact that we feel that we have probably had enough of all-inclusives in general and we can understand how some people would enjoy it here.

This was my first visit and it will not be my last.
The staff are some of the best I have encountered in a hotel of this size.Everyone from management to the cleaners. The reps were helpful yet not pushy and there every day which is unusual.
The food& drink were excellent with plenty of choice.
If you are going as a family and have two rooms they each have there individual doors but the rooms are set back and you have the added bonus of an outer door which you can also lock, which gives you a private walkway between the two rooms.
This is great feature and gives peace of mind if you do put your children in one room whilst you have the other.(mine are teenagers but even so you worry!)
All the other reviewers go into more detail but for me the above are the most important and the reasons I would go back.

What a lovely place to stay every member of staff was very helpful, polite and friendly. The entertainments team were brilliant they gave 100% all day long and I thought the evening shows were enjoyable considering they are not professionals. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Just returned from a fantastic 4 day break at this hotel. Check in was busy but were advised to have lunch then return, no problem, well done Reception staff. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable, well done cleaning staff. Food and drink are plentiful and excellent( lovely Mojito's in Lobby Bar), well done chefs, waiters and the friendly bar staff especially pool bar (large wine !!). Entertainment team, very, very hard working team, friendly but not pushy, special mention to Lahcen who got us warm dry towels during a heavy downpour, well done entertainment team. Gardens are kept beautiful, well done gardeners. A well done to the guy with the golf buggy who gave three ladies a lift to reception to save us getting wet. Only downside was the outdoor pool, FREEZING !!!
WELL DONE TO EVERYONE AT RIU TIKIDA PALMERAIE, keep up the good work and thankyou for making our first holiday together a brilliant one, we all hope to return.
Not well done to Thomson though who ran out of food on the return flight !!
