“A fantastic trip for couples”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 March 2013

Terra Mia has been one of my best trip in Marrakech for a long time and I would like to say thank you to the amasing people working there.
I particularly appreciated the quick reactions to all our specific requests (my boyfriend is a vegetarian and they kindly adapted the meals to him).
As I am moroccan (living in Amsterdam) I am very demanding in terms of food and I recognize that I was well surprised by the quality of the food (we almost did not go out for dinner).
The quality of the service is very high compared to the low prices applied at Terra mia which is so enjoyable as a lot of places are over priced in Marrakech. It was such a great time that I asked the manager if I could organise my birthday there next summer and we kept in touch for the organisation. I am convinced that they will provide me the best organisation for the event.
I will let you know about that.

Before our trip we called the owner by telephone, to be sure if their's heating in the rooms( it was winter and we had children and a baby with us) They told us that the rooms have airco & heating. But the rooms where freezing cold, the heating was broken. So we took a bath to warm up. But there was NO warm water.. The sun -heating did not work (no sun) and..they started up the other heating to late, that takes hours.. We were very disappointed, we were tired from the flight and very cold.
The food is to expensive, about 4 times more than in the city. Las but not least, in the morning we had to be at 07.00 o'clock at the airport for the return flight. The owner said that he could not bring us! It was 'against their rules' bringing people before 8.00 h. to the airport!!!. What means his rules i guess We had to find a taxi ourselves. But Terra Mia hotel is 40 min. from the center of Marrakech and about 50 minutes from the Airport. In the evening the 'prepared' our breakfast, they preferred to stay in bed of course. We had to heath our (to old) coffee in the kitchen in a microwave. SO..NO MORE TERRA MIA FOR US.

Dear Madame,

I do confirm you the information about heating in the rooms. Our airco are also working as heating. We switched them on for you that night, I do remember. It took exactly one hour and half for warm water which has been fixed few months ago after a problem with some other guests and we explained you that matter as soon as you arrived before diner. You said that you will deal with that after diner and the water was very hot after that. So as the room.

We never said that our restaurant is not more expensive than the little Jamaa Lfna square restaurants where you can have food for less than 5 euros. We have a staff, a lot of expenses to keep our gardens, riad and villas always nice and clean.

So it is quite hard and very unfair to be able to write this kind of reviews on trip advisor just because I refused to give you two free nights in our riad in exchange of something that you wanted to offer to us: you said you were in Morocco to make a movie and you wanted to have two free nights in exchange of an advertising for our Riad in your movie. I answered that this was not an interesting proposition to us.

So please, I would like to understand how, with such a disappointing experience you decided to come back a week later and also asked for two free nights in such an awful place? It is just for my personal information.

For the taxi, I asked you if you want one and you said that your husband will bring your daughter to the airport and that there was no need to call him. In any hotel in the world, you pay your taxi to get from and to the airport. Here, we offer the shuttle for free for our guests between 8:00 am 10:00 pm. That is written in our protocols in the rooms.

After all the efforts we provide for our guests well being, I think that such reviews are totally unfair. Just write whatever you want because we refused to offer you two free nights, we want people to know our side of the story on trip advisor and we will also ask them if this review can be removed because it is based on a personal disagreement. In fact it basically says: do what I want or I write a bad review. It is exactly that!

By the way, we are exactly 25 minutes from Marrakech and 30 minutes from the airport, you can confirm it on other reviews.

We spent a week break here with two children aged 4 and 6. Beautiful setting, excellent hospitality, great food. 15 minute drive to city centre, with shuttle trips arranged as required. Children enjoyed the grounds, pool and the on site tennis/football ground. Marrakech is a fabulous, kinetic city but we appreciated the clam afforded by the location of the hotel. Overall, we had an enjoyable and memorable stay.

We stayed here for a few days over New Year. Our stay began with us being picked up by the the lovely Omar who, along with his sons Hakim, Emin and all the friendly staff made our stay very special. Nothing was too much trouble. For instance, arranging trips to and from town and sorting out an excersion with a tour group who we had forgotten to verify our trip with!
We opted for a riad out of town and this turned out to be a great choice. The riad and grounds are beautifully kept by a happy and friendly team. It is nicely secluded in wonderful surroundings. Lunch on the balcony or terrace was particularly nice with a breathtaking view of the Atlas mountains. All the meals were delicious and freshly prepared,
And a massage in the riads own Hamman is highly recommended.
We found it a perfect place for a romantic getaway.

We found Terra Mia to be a quiet and very relaxing haven after a day in Marrakech. We spent four nigths here and enjoyed it very much. The owners and the staff were all extremely kind and helpful and arranged excursions and transports into the city. Furthermore the meals we had at Terra Mia were just delicious. We can highly recommend Terra Mia as a base for visiting Marrakech and the neighbouring areas.

We have just spent five days over Christmas at Terra Mia in Marrakech with our three children (ages 9, 6 and 2). It was our first trip to Morocco and were looking for somewhere calm to retreat to after the bustle of the city but did not want to stay in a bland 'all inclusive' hotel. I chose Terra Mia based on the great Trip Advisor reviews and we weren't disappointed. We were met at the Airport by Amin and this was the beginning of our fantastic trip. Amin, his Mother, Father and the rest of the staff looked after us brilliantly, we felt like part of the family. We opted for one of the houses in the grounds of the Riad and were really pleased with our accommodation. Designed in typical Moroccan style with two bedrooms and bathrooms and a living area. Perfect for a family. The kids were really excited when we arrived at the accommodation. It was late in the evening but we were still offered food and what wonderful food it was. Typical Moroccan tagines and lots of things the children loved! One of my children has Coeliac disease so is allergic to Gluten and the staff were really accomodating and and provided food that he could eat.
Everyday we were taken into to the city by Amin or his Father who did everything they could to accommodate us. They arranged horse riding for the kids, let them ride on their quad bikes and took us to visit the major sites. It felt like Amin was our personal guide. He even joined us on a camel ride (his first). It made the whole trip easy and relaxing.
All I can say is that my Kids cried when we left as they had had so much fun and they keep asking when we are going back. The Riad and grounds are beautiful but it is the wonderful owners and their staff that make this place a MUST to stay.

We were looking for a spot where we could completely relax while enjoying the sun and discovering a place we have not been to before. So she came up with Marrakech. What a great idea. When looking for accommodation we decided to look for a Rhiad instead of a regular hotel and it paid off very well.
Terra Mia Rhiad is located a bit outside Marrakech but twice a day they offer transport into and out of the city centre for free. Additional transport arrangements are also available upon request, but may cost some Dirahm, but it is still affordable. To be honest, I was always happy to be back at this nice and quiet resort when coming back from the fascinating but bustling Medina.

The rooms are spacious and if you like some more privacy while you are at the pool, they also offer villas with own pools. Every building has great charm as rooms are decorated and furnished with Moroccan style furniture and picture motives. All floors are tiled.
Breakfast is served daily at the Rhiad and is included in the price. Lunch and Dinner are available upon order (lunch to be ordered at breakfast time, dinner at lunch time) and everything is prepare fresh. Every meal can also be served in your villa upon request.
The Moroccan style home cooking menu offers a good choice and variety of food and tastes from vegetable to meat of all kinds. It is really recommendable to enjoy dinner at the Tia Mia instead of getting trapped in a tourist restaurant in the Medina.
They also offer massages for which appointments must be made a day or two in advance as the staff for this is coming in from an outside spa.
The Terra Mia is family owned and all staff is friendly and helpful. Everything is kept in order and the cleaning service (daily) is just great.

Room Tip: Every room is nice and spacious and fits for two people easily.
