“Overbooked, even though we booked with a credit cardgaranti!”
Reviewed 2 February 2011

We should only stay in Marrakech for a fem days, and desided to sleep at Riad Diana because we are four friends who wanted do share a room. When we arrived at Marrakech, the lady who worked there, said that the hotel was overbooked. She tried to find somewhere else for us to stay, and when she found one near by, we could only stay there for one nigt. My friend had broken her ancle, and it was diffucult for her to move from Riad to Riad. On the third Riad she could find, we aprooved to stay and this was a great Riad (Riad Tizgui).

We were promised to pay less for the hotel, because of the trouble, but did't get any compensation or pricereduction. Rediculous! I do not recomend this hotel.

Our stay at Riad Dianna was exceptional! The facilities were wonderful but the warm and helpful staff are really what separate Riad Dianna from other accommodations. In addition to providing great restaurant recommendations and promptly responding to requests, they went out of their way to help. My partner was quite sick and one staff member took us to a Pharmacy. For me, the best experience was the opportunity to take the wonderful cooking class. It was fun and interesting - excellent! Thanks again.

The staff did everything they could to make our holiday a positive experience. Everything including transfers, taxis, trips, and meals booked were utterly reliable. The rooms are traditional clean and well looked after. The only negative is the cats which congregate on the roof at night to fight and screech. Our friends lost sleep because of this and I think it is therefore better to be in the lower rooms.

I would like to thank you very much for your kind review. Unfortunately we can't make anything against the cats because they are not belonging to us. It is a general problem of all the Riads in the old town because the cats are walking from one roof terrace to the next and sometimes they are fighting for there girls and/or there territory. I apologize for the inconvenience and I hope that the advantages to live in a charming and traditional Riad have more than compensated this trouble.

A delightful way to experience the old city and to gain some much needed respite from the helter skelter of exotic Marrakesh. We stayed four nights with our eldest daughter in adjoining rooms and were so pleased we chose Riad Diana, which offered the comfort, the location and the feel of being in another world. Aziza's cooking class was a sensation and a highlight of our stay, and our daughter (studying physiotherapy) can vouch for the effectiveness of the massage offered - she should have included the hammam available at the riad and used by the ladies working there as an extra treat. Our rooms were stylish and comfortable; bathroom had no problems and staff are always available to offer advice. Riad Diana is in the medina, just 5 mins walk from Djemaa el-Fna to the north and 5 mins walk to Place des Ferblantiers and the Badi and Bahia Palaces to the south (our arrival and departure point from the airport - very well organised by Riad Diana but make sure you have some small change in Dirham for the porter who has already been paid but expects just a little more for his service). Riad Diana provided the perfect staging point for our glimpse into the life of the walled city - visit and book through their own website at Charming Riads to get the best deal for you and for them.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in December. The Riad is itself very nice and the staff was very pleasant. The location is good as it is close to the main market and you don`t have to navigate a maze of side streets in the medina to find it. The breakfast was good although we wished that they had included some local fresh fruit with it.

Our main issue was that on our first night there we found someones underwear in our bed. After we stopped gagging, we went down to the front desk and asked them to change all the sheets immediately which they did. However, nothing mroe than a light apology was offered. The explanation given was that the cleaning lady was new. She must have meant - new to earth!
Our other omplaints were that the toilet did not work properly and the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor whenever we would take a shower.

The highlight of our stay was the cooking class we took with their cook. Please see our restaurant review for Riad Diana for more info on this - great experience!

This is our first Riad experience so to be fair, we have nothing to compare it to. That being said, this was a great experience. We had no idea what to expect out of the place. What a pleasant surprise, we decided to stay an extra night.
The Riad is located in a quite area of the Medina tucked in behind an ancient street. It's located right in the heart of the activity and yet it's an oasis. We can spend the day in the in the mayhem of the medina and quickly retreat to the Riad and relax.
The Riad is nicely decorated with Moroccan motif. We stayed in Room 5 up on the balcony, decorated to emulate a Berber tent, I think. The place is very clean and the staff are very helpful. I had access to Wifi all the time and there is also a TV in the living room if you want to catch up with the latest news.
The staff are fantastic. We decided to cook with Aziza, a well worth experience as we went to the market and made very nice salads and fish tagine. Highly recommend it if you are into cooking. Also, we needed a car to hire, all we had to do is ask at the front desk and someone showed up to start the contract and they deliver the car.

The staff are extremely welcoming and can't do enough to help you with your holiday needs such as booking restaurants/taxis/day trips.
We stayed the the family suite with 2 bedrooms which was very spacious and clean.
Good breakfast every day included in the price
Very close to the Medina and a good way to get a true feel for Morocco by staying in the heart of the old town.
