It is slightly hard to find and tucked away down an alleyway but after walking past the bustling souks, it is lovely to step into such a beautiful and calming riad. The staff are very helpful, although it helps if you speak french. Sometimes the photos of these places are very flattering but I thought it was even better in real life. Beautifully decorated and furnished. I was so looking forward to my trip and it was even better than I had imagined. I hope to return soon.

We were the only two guest at the Riad when we were there due to mixed up reservations (our mistake). The owner had left for a short holiday since they thought no one was coming, so we were there just with the stay who is exceptional helpful and nice, even though we all don't speak french very well.
It is a beautiful Riad, well designed with a lot of attention for detail. Our room was big and luxureous. It was a relief not to have a tv, it fits the surrounding. The courtyard is wonderful at night as well. If you want to splurch: you can use their private hammam. Nice scrub and massage are included in the price.

The location is in the middle of the medina, close to the Marrakech museum (handy to have a landmark nearby since finding your way in the medina can be a challenge). It gives you all the opportunity the explore the medina and as soon as you enter the Riad you experience only a quite environment. I like it when I have this choice in a city.

We stayed here for my 40th birthday celebration in May. The Riad on the web looks lovely in the pictures however to be honest it isn't quiet as clean as I would have hoped or the pictures lead you to believe. You can't really sit in the courtyard as the chairs are covered in bird droppings which is quite unfortunate. The room itself was very large and spacious and technically not much wrong with it except the air con was a bit hit and miss, and also the bathroom window is in full view of anyone looking down from the room terrace you could actually get caught having a shower if you stay in the Grand Suite as we did.
The location is not where you want to be, its right up in the souks and a 10 min walk to the square. Thats fine but to get in and out of the Riad you have to pass the souks which is a nightmare, hectic and certainly NOT hassle free. Its also quite difficult to find and fairly isolated late at night. I didn't feel safe getting back there and would definitely not have liked it had I not been with my husband.
Also beware the Riad like to "offer" to get you taxis for certain trips and nights out, they use a taxi firm and charge you in Euros - its quite expensive so if you don't want to be spending loads on taxis then dont book via the Riad use the taxi rank or street and flag one down.
They also charge for everything in CASH, and they want it preferably in Euros - they also don't advertise any prices for meals, drinks etc so just beware as this did add up. You can pay by credit card for the room itself but not for anything else.
Overall it was OK, but I would not return to this particular Riad if I were to ever go back to Morocco which to be honest I doubt we will.
Beware particularly of locals trying to send you to all the wrong places and in the wrong directions as they then want to lead you to where you want to go and rip you off for money,
If you want a relaxing holiday don't stay in the Medina but rather a bit outside or at one of the nicer hotels.
Hope you found this helpful.

Riad Camilia is an awesome place right in the middle of the Medina. Couldn't have asked for a better place to return to each night. It truly was a calm oasis and the beautifully decorated rooms and warm public spaces were a welcome relief after spending long days in the Djemaa el Fna and the medina. The service was very accommodating - they brought us mint tea at every opportunity and even had a fire ready for us each night. Francoise made excellent restaurant recommendations and followed through with the reservations. We also spent a couple of memorable nights in front of the fire talking with Fouad about his Berber hunting techniques! I would definitely stay here again!

An Elegant, tranquil, oasis in the very heart of the medina. It was our first stay in Marrakech and the Riad Camilia certainly offered a wonderful place to relax after a heart racing day at the souks. Once you have your bearings the riad is pretty easy to find in the heart of the medina (2 minswalk from the souks and 5 to the main square), and trust me once you have found it you won't forget it. It has four suites, we stayed in the suite grenat - and like the rest of the riad it is beaultifully decorated, ultra stylish yet traditional and comfortable. With our own balcony area, as well as beautiful and comfy lounges the riad is a really relaxing place to chill out - and I recommend the terrace as well - a perfect sun trap with lots of little seating areas and a small splash pool. The staff were brilliant and literally couldn't do any more for us - From the ladies that do breakfast and cleaned out rooms, to Froid the evening reception - all were very helpful, friendly and professional. And the Riad is the cleanest place I have ever stayed. Francoise the manager is a font of knowledge regarding Marrakech as she has been in the Riad business for several years - she was terrific at arranging restaurants, taxis, and offering advice. Just what you need when new to the hustle and bustle of the medina. Cannot recommend the riad highly enough, and has only recently (in the last mnths) started taking guests hence the few reviews - but this place is exceptional and well worth a visit. 'Marrakech is just an excuse to visit Riad Camilia again!'
