“Nice place for a fantastic stay in Marrakech”
Reviewed 31 January 2011

I and my friend spent last week in Marrakech in Riad Lorsya Guest house. We were both very satisfied with the service, the food and everything. Mr. Zahidi, Mr. Abdou and the girls were really helpful they answered our needs with large smile. I thank them deeply. The room was well designed all cleaned and organised as the whole raid the decoration was exclusively special. I was so pleased having my breakfast on the terrace where the climate was awful. I also liked the red dining room. I enjoyed my trip and stay in the Guest House, and I recommend it to everyone.

We were attracted by the positive comments on friendly service, the location and photos. But for the price, one expects good sleep quality and comfort. We were greeted with kindness, enjoyed a delicious meal on our first night and found the overall ambience charming. But the mattress in our room was lumpy and sunken in the middle. The sounds of the private activities of other guests are transmitted easily between rooms and indeed one needs to be careful to keep the bedroom curtains closed to avoid being looked in on by neighbors. The shower in our room was swamp-like and moldy. If we had paid an economy rate we might gave overlooked these discomforts. But considering the large number of competitors in this price range one could do better elsewhere.

Stayed for 4 nights, the riad is very well located close to the main square and sights. The staff are welcoming and friendly and our suite was lovely. My advice is get a taxi transfer from the airport booked via the riad, as you would never find it on your own. Tea, coffee and water are freely available just ask and its there. Breakfast was great with freshly squeezed orange juice. The only cristisism I have is that the pillows are really hard and in the mornings there is a lot of noise from the kitchen which woke us up every morning.

Booked a day trip to the atlas mountains through the riad which was lovely, however the waterfall part of the trip was dissapointing as you have quite a long hike up to it to find that its not that high.

Personnaly we found Marrakesh quite expensive a light lunch around 20 euros and dinner anything from 40 to 80 euros with wine. If you like a beer or drink then there are not many places to go, but did a bit of home work before we went, Cafe Arabe is about 5 minutes from the riad walking, not very cheap but the roof terrace is fabulous, be warned though when we went it shuts at 10pm, but well worth a visit for a relaxing evening and drink.

La Narwama, this is a restaurant and bar, just had a drink here, very expensive but decor and surroundings were lovely.

Le Marrakchi, had a meal here, didnt enjoy the food, but they had traditional band and belly dancing whilst you are eating. This was the most expensive 80 euros for one course and a bottle of wine.

The grand Tazi hotel, what can i say, its worth going for one drink, cheap by comparison to other places, go just to have one drink and watch the goings on. It is like no other place we have been in, there were comings and goings at the reception area by lots of men and some dodgy looking women, suspect the rooms are probably booked by the hour.

Booking riads just from reading reviews is always risky - but I am more than glad I did with this one. I booked the sherazade suite and can say it was a fantastically romatic room to stay in. The dinner on the first night was filling and the authentic fresh breakast on subsequent days was also very tasty. The riad is excellently located and only several minutes walk from the square and the staff are very helpful. I have no doubt I wil be booking the same on my next visit to Marrakech!

Riad Lorsya really is a gem. Right in the heart of the Mouassine district of Marrakech it is central whilst at the same time being far away enough from the main square to be quiet and relaxing, a must after a busy day in this vibrant city.

Mustafa, Ilyas, Lamya, Amina and Abdo did all they could to ensure we had a comfortable stay. We were travelling with our 15 month old daughter and they spoiled her rotten. They were a great help in providing food for her and we felt as if we were at home.

Our only minor quibbles was as mentioned by others the level of lighting in the rooms. In addition the plumbing in Semsara suite where we stayed was a little tempremental and more maintenance would be helpful.

But this didn't really detract from our stay. Would stay back here in an instant and am planning to on our next visit.

My wife found this wonderful palace on tripadvisor after a lots of online search.
riad lorsya is a perfect small 5 stars hotel, for your stay in marrakech medina at 5 minutes walk from the main place and attractions.
the riad arrange for us the transfers from and to the airport with a very nice drivers, and a day trip to the Atlas mountains wish was also perfect, nothing was too much trouble, the staff could not be more helpful, and welcoming, with cafe mint tea and water for free during your stay.
the rooms are very well decorated, clean and big enough.
The breakfast and diners are the best meals we had in marrakech, served on courtyeard
or on the roof top.
in general this place was the best in marrakech.
i will really recommend this lovely hotel to every one.
