My mother and I traveled to Morocco at the beginning of Novemeber. We stayed at Aguaviva only two nights and wished we had decided to stay longer. The Riad itself it gorgeous. It has a beautiful small pool in it's centre and a lovely Welcoming area. The roof top terrace is fantastic. The rooms are elegant and very well kept. The best part about this Riad however, are its people. They call themselves "cool hunters" and they come across more like a friend in a foreign place. Marrakech can be overwhelming when you first arrive - the medina is a labyrinth with motorbikes zipping everywhere. To the uninitiated it's very chaotic. But David and his team make sense of the place and tailor-make an itinerary for you based on your interests. The afternoon we arrived, two of his partners, Oti and Thais, walked my Mum and I from the Riad all the way to the main square. They gave us a map and pointed out landmarks that we could remember to get ourselves home. Then they left us in the square to explore. It was amazing. The whole place was a bustle, but we felt that they had put us at ease enough to adventure about. We went to the place they recommended for dinner and it was gorgeous. The next day we had breakfast on the Terrace and had a wonderful conversation with David and Oti about the city and the country - we learned so much from them. Then again they gave us a list of interesting places to go - a photography museum which we loved, the oldest Madrasa in the city, a beautiful Riad, and an upscale shop that was for the uber rich (just for looking). Unfortunately our day was cut short due to an injury (which the staff were expert in helping us deal with) and I think David was more disappointed than we were. We left the next day for the desert but decided to come back to Marrakech early the day we were to fly out to try to see the places we missed. We wrote to the staff and they agreed that we could leave our luggage with them while we went into the medina. Cesc and Simo gave us such a warm welcome and after our travels about the country, that it was almost like coming home.
We cannot recommend this Riad highly enough. It was by far our favourite of the trip.
