We stayed for a bit less than a week. In the middle of the week we went for a desert trip and the hotel service was kind enough to let us leave our luggages at the place. Always ready to help out and give advice. Place was always clean. Breakfast was good. Wifi connection was good. Nothing really to complain about. Central and easy to get to most of Marrakech's main attractions.

Having travelled extensively, this riad in Marrakech has to be hands down one of the best places I have stayed in. An oasis of calm in the middle of a bustling city, the riad is beautiful, the staff super friendly and the food delicious. Could not find a single fault!

I take my hat off to the staff at dar ihssane. This is a friendly and welcoming riad with a very authentic feel. Ehmed was able to provide the best advice on how to manage Marrakech and this was priceless..... I would definitely stay here again....this was like being at home

This is a lovely riad MashAllah. In the heart of the old city its near to big square and the souks literally a five min walk. The rooms are nice, at first its very different than anything you've ever experienced. The streets are so narrow and the riad is so quiet, its anit odd if you arrive at night as the narrow streets are abit dark and scary DO NOT BE PUT OFF!!! THE RIAD IS REALLY LOVELY!!! The roof terrace is so peaceful, you can sip tea and listen to the call to prayer while the sun sets. The riad is small so you end up chatting to people which is nice rather than being secluded in a big hotel. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The apricot jam is really nice in the morning with fresh bread and strong coffee. Definitely recommend this place.

I would recommend this hotel. I enjoyed my stay there.

Pros: It is clean, comfortable, affordable and the staff are nice. The breakfast is delicious and the facilities are beautiful! Its location is good, very close to the main square and

Cons: The only downside of the place is getting there. The taxi from the airport was a nightmare (not the fault of the riad at all). He didn't take me directly to the hotel but rather dropped me at a street close by and set me loose to the tons of people on the street who wanted money to take me to the Riad (again, not the fault of Dar Ihssane at all). I would have been ok with paying someone to walk to me there however, they wanted "billetes" not coins. They then put up a big stink when you won't give them a 5 euro bill...the guy at the riad wasn't particularly helpful but I was very firm with the guy and he finally took my euro coins.

If it is at all possible, arrange someone to take you there personally, ahead of time...ESPECIALLY if you're a woman. I can recommend someone personally but maybe ask the hotel themselves?

Room Tip: I stayed on the second floor, room #4 I believe. It was quiet and the A.C. worked wonderfully. The...

We stayed 4 nights and really enjoyed our time there. It is hard to find but don't let this put you off, I'm sure a local will ask you if you need a guide to find it (agree a price first, we didnt and had to pay 100mad for 4 people). The riad will organise a airport pick up, so I wold advise that. The rooms are nice with a lot of character. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is nice, with fresh orange juice every day. A nice change from a standard hotel that you could stay in anywhere. Would recommend. A little trip, if you email the riad they can email you a better map to help find it.

From the moment we had arrived staff were helpful and attentive to all our needs. 4 girls travelling to Marrakech we hadn't quite prepared our self for the hassle we would be getting off the men.

The riad itself is difficult to find and without the help of locals we would never have found it. It is hidden away down alleyways in the medina. We got our self into some bother with our helpful locals who had directed us towards the riad expecting a tip of 200 dirhams between the pair. Mohammed, who we usually saw in the evenings through to breakfast jumped in when things were getting heated to deal with the bother we had got ourselves into, we cannot thank him enough for that.

The riad itself is very authentic and good not have been in a better location. We were in the middle of the souks and a 5 minute walk away from the famous square De Jemma el Fna. Around the corner from the riad is a very luxurious hammam we had discovered a few days later. It was a little on the pricey side but Amed who worked in the Riad also directed us towards a local hammam for women also a short distance from the riad. Amed also helped us to arrange various tours during our stay and transfers as we hadn’t booked any in advance.
Suminah made sure we were well equipped with towels, toilet tissue and a clean bed every day. She was very attentive, four young girls we did create some mess but she was very patient.

Breakfast was ready every morning with tea, coffee, fresh orange and fresh bread. Breakfast is served between 8-11 but the days when we had to be out of the riad for our tours for 8, Amed or Mohammed had arranged for our breakfast to be ready earlier.
Our stay in Marrakech was enjoyed but more so because the staff at Dar Ihsanne are so friendly and trust worthy. We were giving the privacy to enjoy the riad as if it was our own home. No matter how late we stayed out until Mohammed would wait up until we arrived back at the riad to lock the door. The day we were due to leave our flight was not until later on in the evening, although checkout is at 11 Amed had allowed us to have the room a little longer and also watched our suitcases whilst we went for our last visit around the souks and medina.
I would highly recommend this riad for anyone thinking of visiting Marrakech, not only are the staff great but the location is perfect. The whole visit we did not require taxis as everything we needed to see in the city was walking distance. The only mode of transport we eventually used was a friendly old man offering us a ride around the city on horse and carriage at a discounted price after bumping into him twice.

I would like to thank the staff at Dar Ihsanne for all their efforts during our stay. We all look forward to returning to Morocco and we will definitely be staying here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in a famiy room which had two rooms, one with a double bed, the bathroom and a small loung...
