What a great riad tucked away from it all. From arriving to leaving Patrice and his staff made us feel so welcome, excellent service. Excellent breakfast with attention to detail ( something different everyday ) . Had a three course evening meal which was lush. Would recommend this riad and Marrakech for a lovely relaxing break !!!!!

This Riad is a hidden gem, and for it's guests nothing is too much trouble, so just sit back and enjoy Marrakech in Style.

From the moment we made the booking, Patrice was in regular contact with us. He helped with information about the riad, food ideas, and the best places to visit in Marrakech and also our airport transfer.

The riad was fantastic! Very stylish, very clean, fabulous location and extremely calm.

We felt it was real value for money, cheaper than most hotels and because we stayed 5 nights we got a free transfer from the airport.

The food at the riad was excellent! We had a different breakfast every day, which was served on the terrace. We also ate dinner 3 times at the riad, the food was far better than any of the restaurants we visited and better value.

Patrice and his staff were on hand to help whenever you needed them.

A group of 8 of us stayed at the Riad in February for 5 nights. We booked the riad transport to pick us up the airport as we didn't arrive until late. I'm glad we did as it is tucked away in the middle of the medina and we would not have found it on our own. However, we soon got used to the narrow alleyways and had no problems walking to and from the square, souk and other sites and then getting back again. We felt perfectly safe even at night. We had a meal at the riad on the first night which for most was their first taste of moroccan cuisine. There was plenty of food with good variety. The rooms were simply furnished but comfortable and fairly small apart from the suite. There were some problems with the showers, hot water and electricity but we wanted to experience traditional moroccan accommodation in the medina so perhaps it was to be expected. The call to prayer from the local mosque in the morning was very loud but again it's all part of the experience. Patrice, the owner arranged a minibus for us to visit the Cascades d'Ouzoud. The price was the same as local tourist offices. The falls are lovely, we did a 2 hour walk around them which was well worth it. The drive to and from is quite long but the scenery is great. A big thankyou to Patrice and his staff for looking after us so well. The breakfast was substantial with good variety and the place was spotlessly clean. I would recommend this place to people if you want a traditional moroccan experience rather than the sprawling out of town modern developments which may have more facilities but lack the charm and character of this riad.
We also had fantastic meals at Villa Flore, Terrasse des Epices and Cafe Arabe restaurants.

My choice of staying at Riad Ambre et Epices was the first I have made based on TripAdvisor reviews and ratings. And it gives me faith! It is hard to see how a moderately priced riad could be better. The proprietor, an expat Frenchman, is wonderfully caring and attentive. The place is small enough that one can feel one is at a home-away-from-home more than at a hotel. The simple but delicious breakfasts (oh, the yogurt!) served on the rooftop terrace were a highlight. The location is good, tucked into the medina on the west side; there is a taxi depot very close and it is a moderate walk to the souk, the main square and Gueliz. I intend to return.
