The riad is an oasis of peace and elegance in the heart of the medina of Marrakech. The rooms (very clean) are tastefully decorated in the traditional Moroccan style. Patrice, the owner, greeted us, making us feel right at home. On the evening of our arrival, Patrice arranged for us a delicious dinner on the terrace of the riad. Fatima is a fantastic cook who prepares traditional Moroccan dishes that are delicious. It 's great dinner on the terrace! What about breakfast? The breakfast is rich and varied every day.
The solarium / terrace has sun beds and the pool is the ideal place for a refreshing bath and drinking a drink.
Patrice has organized a wonderful hike to the waterfalls ouzoud as well as transfers to and from the airport. Patrice personally takes care of every detail, and the staff is always available.
So if you want to spend an unforgettable holiday, we recommend the Riad Ambre et Epices!

Stayed here for 4 nights and was looked after by the lovely Patrice. The riad was well presented modern oasis to stay after venturing out. The property itself is well located within the walled city (Medina) and everything is in walking distance. Patrice and his team look after all your needs and he even catches you when your falling!! ;) The WIFI is great to use throughout your stay, the breakfast on the roof terrace is a great start to the day and a nice place to relax at the end. We were collected and returned to the airport which takes so much stress out of the travel and again, Patrice arranged this plus a dinner reservation at Restaurant Au Comptoir du Pacha. The food is highly recommended here. You walk past this on the way back to the riad. This will test your navigational skills. If there is one thing I would suggest, but probably because it was 43 degrees, is a small fridge to put your water in, in the room. I never drank so much water in my life!! but im sure if I asked Patrice to use his it would be no problem!! Thanks for the great stay.

Room Tip: I stayed in the suite racines. Great room, but if you have stiff knees, this bathroom is not for you...

Riad Ambre Et Epices, a traditional oasis of a riad in the Medina, walking distance from the souks. We had a magical dinner arranged for us on the terrace and the rooms really do speak for themselves, stunning. The service we had from Patrice and his staff was the best we experienced in our whole 2 week stay in Morocco and when we return to Marrakech we will be sure to come back to Riad Ambre Et Epices.

Room Tip: Arrange dinner for an evening, incredible food.

This is a fantastic Riad in a great location with excellent facilities and pleasant, professional staff. It is located in the old walled city but within walking distance of the Nouvelle district. We stayed for three nights in one of the larger rooms before heading to the coast for a night. The hotel manager was very generous in allowing us to leave our luggage in the hotel (without paying for a room) so that we could take only an overnight bag. When we returned we asked to try one of the smaller rooms (45 euros instead of 60), and this was of an equally high standard. The Riad offers a delicious traditional breakfast on the roof terrace. The optional evening meals were of a higher standard than many of the restaurants in the city - which all tend to be overpriced for tourists and of questionable quality. The hotel also offers an airport transfer for those that stay for three nights or more. Overall, our stay in the Riad was the highlight of our trip, and a desperately needed corner of tranquility and serenity amongst the hustle, bustle and hassle of Marrakech.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this secret hideaway - the people were absolutely fantastic, helpful in every way. The rooms are georgous. In the medina, close to the souk, great place to have a wonderful big breakfast and dinner on the roof top terrace or in the nearby Restaurant Au Comptoir du Pacha. The swimming pool is small but beautiful and refreshing, and massages can be booked at the reception.

Room Tip: All six rooms are phantastic!

Having just returned from a 4 night stay at the Riad Ambre et Epices, I can honestly say it is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. After carefully debating about staying in a larger hotel further out of the city centre or a smaller traditional riad, we plumped for the riad, and we were not disappointed. After reading other reviews we decided not to go for an airport transfer and hopped in a taxi at the airport, this was much more reasonably priced, we paid about £14.00 to get there and about £7 to return (after getting into the swing of the haggling). Despite being down several narrow streets, once Patrice showed us directions to and from the hotel it was incredibly straight forward. The location of the riad could not be better, nearly all main attractions are within walking distance, and over our short stay we managed to pack in all the main attractions and a day trip to Ourika valley. We had half board at the hotel, and the food was as fabulous as the surrounds, we ate breakfast and dinner up on the roof terrace, and both meals had a good amount of variety and exceptional quality. The hotel was wonderfully decorated, traditionally but with a modern twist, it was impeccably clean and on arrival we were upgraded to the suite. Our room was lovely and overlooked the gorgeous dipping pool on the ground floor. The staff very attentive without being suffocating, all of our needs were met. Despite other comments we has hot water throughout our stay and were provided with delicious smelling Moroccan toiletries.. The staff and the quality of the hotel, helped make our trip truly perfect and I can’t think of anywhere id have rather stayed.

Tips – Take a third off nearly everything in Morocco, you have to haggle in the market, for taxi’s, for trips and for callache rides. Once you walk away, they soon meet your price.

Don’t book trips or taxi’s through the hotel, they are very over priced and there is a taxi rank very nearby where it is very easy to book a taxi. There is also a tour company called Mami Tours, which does really great deals on trips, its situated to the right of the taxis, and the lady who works in the office speaks fantastic English.

Bring a pen for the airport! We wish someone had told us this, as there’s a form to fill in at arrival to the airport and no pens are provided, we had to wait around for 15mins until we found someone willing enough to lend us one, then wait another 5mins to get another pen for my boyfriend’s form, nightmare!!
