“An oasis in the heart of Marrakech”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2012

I stayed at the Riad Itrane for 3 nights this week, and it really is an oasis in the heart of the chaos. Marrakech is a busy city that attacks your senses non stop, so to be able to escape into your own little oasis (just 2 minutes walk from the main sqaure) was wonderful. The building is lovely, the rooms very comfortable and the free wifi works well. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, always ready with an easy smile and lots of hints and ideas. They were also able to help me organie a local guide for a half day walking tour.

The included breakfast is tasty and the riad also offers dinner service (need to advise them you want dinner no later than breakfast time). The dinner was delicious.

Enjoyed my stay at the Riad Itrane.

Simply spectacular. This is it! If you are looking for a romantic cultural retreat close to the action in the middle of the Marrakesh medina, but quiet, and magnificently decorated in true Moroccan flair - then look no further. We stayed in a suite for 3 nights in April 2012. (the extra space is great). Recommend the hammam and massage. Great staff. Would definitely stay here again. Loved it.

Room Tip: Go for one of the 3 suites

Just spent 5 nights here with partner as a celebration break. Beautiful building and nicely restored. Tranquil area and just couple of minutes off of the main square. Staff were very accomodating , helpful especially with sorting transfers and trips out. Definitely advise to use the transfer they offer you as once you arrive in the Medina there are no vehicles allowed and you would not have found the riad on your own if this is your first time here. They send a guy out to meet the taxi and he transports your luggage in a cart to the door. Air con is the room was fabulous and needed as the temp was 42 degrees. Used the baths that the riad associates with for the hamman/gommage and this is a must on your to do list. Rooms were lovely and beds very comfy. And the call to prayers didn't disturb my sleep at all. Down sides....not many but ....shower head was rubbish but was useable, only needed a descale I think. That's all I can fault really but didn't effect the overall effect in the least. Would recommend to anyone looking for being in heart of the medina, authenticity, and on a medium budget.

Room Tip: We chose Sirus room - on the roof level, opened out to small seating area for our room and roof terr...

Abdou and Radou (the 2 guys that you can always find at the reception) are the most kind people met in Marrakech. The place is 2minutes by foot from the main square, which is very very chaotic! Everyone is pushing you to buy something, touching you, begging you, yelling at you...so is very important to have such a peaceful and relaxing place where to rest, eat, and find a comfortable smile by Abdou in the day and Radou in the evening/night. The breakfast is good... the dinner is good too but a bit expensive. The only disappointing thing is the swimming pool because is veeery small, but the little terrace is nice, the room even when small are clean, comfortable, the structure of the riad is very characteristic! If I'll go back in Marrakech, i will definitely come back!

My mother and I stayed at Riad Itrane for 1 week last month, and had a wonderful stay there. Our hosts, Abdou, Karima, Fatima and Reda were always there to assist us and to make sure our first visit to Morocco was well enjoyed.
Located just off the main square, so very handy for shopping, meal times and exploring are surroundings and extremely peaceful with a delightful roof terrace with potted Bougainvillea to my mums delight (her favourite flower).
One evening we stayed in for our evening meal and had the best meal of the week at Riad Itrane, very tasty Moroccan salad, followed by a delicious chicken tagine and a light and satisfying dessert.
Abdou and Reda help us to arrange excursions and spa treatments throughout the week and always had English breakfast tea at hand for our return.
Extremely wonderful Riad and looking forward to returning in the near future.

Riad Itrane is an oasis of calm just minutes from the marvelous madness that is Jamaa el Fna. Whenever we got lost in the Souks we always managed to make our way back to Derb Dabachi. All the staff made us feel very welcome; the service was excellent. Our room was at the top of the Riad which made us feel as if the fabulous rooftop terrace was all ours. The views across Marrakech to the snow capped Atlas mountains is unforgettable. Breakfasts were more than adequate - freshly squeezed orange juice, bread, jams and honey and usually something hot -moroccan crumpets/pancakes and french toast - delicious! Our stay was short - only three nights - but I would thoroughly recommend this Riad and intend to revisit as soon as I can!
