“Moroccon simplistic chic”

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Le Riad Bebere. We loved our room with the bathroom and hallway with cupboard and room to store luggage on the first floor and stairs leading to a large bedroom with it's own terrace on the second floor. We took pleasure in the understated Morrocan style of the decore. The communal living room with a high ceiling was often chilly at this time of the year, we might have spent more time in there if the staff had lit the fire or putting the heating on more often. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the roof-top terrace, it involved the staff having to do a lot of stair climbing and we wondered if there is an alternative solution.

Our son had fun running around the inner courtyard of the Riad playing with the four cats and looking for the two tortoises.

Ingrid, the manager was helpful and understood our needs. My only improvement suggestion is that we would have appreciated it if we could have had breakfast before 8.30am, our son was normally awake at his usual time of 6 - 6.30am and was very hungry by the usual time breakfast was served. We appreciated Ingrid arranging for us to have our breakfast earlier on our day of departure.

My friend and I visited Marrakech this February and we had the most wonderful, relaxing stay in this stunning riad. In the heart of the Medina, close to Spice Square and a ten minute walk to the main square as other reviewers have said, an oasis in the noisy bedlam which is the wonder of the medina of Marrakech. As with most riads in the medina you need to find your bearings and Ingrid the manager will help you to do this. First time in Marrakech then definitely let Ingrid organise your transfer as a taxi cannot get close enough and she organisers a porter to get you and your luggage through the maze. The staff were wonderful and we particularly enjoyed our breakfast on one of the top terraces, had a sunbathe on another, a great pedicure, should have fitted in a massage as other guests said it was fantastic and had a special meal cooked for us on one night. We enjoyed the company of the three house cats and two tortoises. Thanks Ingrid and your team. We will be back.

We absolutely loved our stay at Riad Berber.
It’s very well located and is very beautifully done.
The breakfast was very nice (loved the fresh strawberries!) and plenty.
The staffs are all very friendly and offered us tea and cookies whenever we returned from the hustle and bustle of the media with a smile.
We loved our beautiful room and wished we had more days. But the best asset to this riad is the manager Ingrid.
Upon checking in, she actually walked out with us and showed us the way back from the major points in the medina.
This was our 2nd time in Morocco and we have stayed in several riads in Fez and Marrakech medinas but this was the first.
We are not afraid to get lost in the medina but felt very special and gave us the impression that she’s is very thorough and in fact she was!
Since we told her we were in the market for a carpet, she introduced us to some of the shop owners and we ended up with a beautiful piece.
When this carpet turned out to be too heavy to check in, she called the local number for the airline and inquired about the luggage policy on our behalf(since we don’t speak French), made arrangement with the shop owner to get it shipped to us in the states…etc etc…she went above and beyond for us. She’s very helpful and reliable but not imposing at all and took time with all the guests who were there at the time equally.
There are so many choices in the medina and they might be equally beautiful, but you will not regret staying here for the personal service you’ll receive. Thank you Ingrid for taking such good care of us!

Haven from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. The staff made us feel really comfortable and were very helpful choosing restaurants, giving directions and serving mint tea after an afternoon in the souk. Check out the fabulous roof terrace. Really lovely place.

I travel often, but rarely recommend anything…. this Riad however is one of the best places I have ever stayed. I can only repeat what others have already described, it is truly a perfect spot - an oasis of calm & tranquility in the center of the Medina of Marrakech.
I hope to return soon….

First upon our arrival we were welcomed by Giovanni and we were informed Ingrid had to leave for some time. That was already a pity as since very first minute of our booking she was very attentive and made us felt extremely welcomed. Giovanni seemed to be very tired at all times, anyway. The Riad is beautiful, bit out from main square but that is only an asset. It is very close to main attractions and with an easy access to main square walking distance. The interior of the room is simple but all is very clean. Bathroom is just great and spacious with Moroccan design twist. We booked cooking classes with Zara which was an amazing experience as she is very carrying and charming person. The rest of the stuff is also very welcoming. And we would love it all if not the heating system. The whole apartment is filled with glazed stone floor and probably during the summer it keeps the cool and it works fine, but in January when night are cold it can be a serious problem. The place has some air conditioning fan as well as small heater in the bathroom but it is too little to keep the whole space warm. On the last day of our stay the night was really cold and moist so I just couldn't warm up. I would really like to give it 10 out of 10 as I would definitely stay there again if that was summer time but at some stage you stop enjoying things when you are cold. The second thing is the breakfast - it is served fresh and portions are huge but if you don't like/can't have sugar then you have a problem as almost everything goes with sugar (buns/jams/pancakes/yogurt,etc). Once again if that was not a heating issue I would rate it excellent.

We spent a week at Riad Berbere as a base for exploring the area. This was exactly what we were hoping for and more. Rustic, clean and full of original details that made it a charming placê to relax after a day In the chãos of the Medina. Ingrid, was the ultimate hoast, and her staff, specifically Anwar, treateded us with smiles and cared for our every need with pleasure. This is an Oásis, that can only bê fully appreciated by travelers who enjoy a more authentic experience. Mint tea by the fire at night and cozy pillow filled sofas. The best dinners we had all week were prepared by the riad. I should mention that there are a few cats, very sweet, well behaved, and no odors. Most of the time the cats just sleep In the sun. So even if you are not a cat person, you will not bê bothered. We cant say enough good things about this gem of a place and we will return.
