“The staff were fautless, the owners on the other hand....”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2013

When we looked into the comments on TA about this Riad, we saw that some people had mentioned that the owners overbooked on occasions and that they had to move paying customers to other properties. We didn't think it would happen to us. Unfortunately it did.

We arrived late in the evening and was told that for the three nights we had booked, only the last night was available in the Riad itself. The other two nights had to be spent in another Riad. The Manager, Simo was very apologetic and tried his best to make sure we were as happy as we could be given the circumstances. We felt that he was genuine in his attempts to find a workable solution for us, and we were very appreciative of his efforts. The fault lies with the owners of the Riad who agreed to overbook the Riad and shunt us off into another lesser Riad.

The other Riad was nothing compared to the room that we booked. It was very sparse and the airconditioning was not very strong. It was perfectly adequate but not what we were expectung or what we booked, by a long shot. When we finally got to our room at Riad Misria, we were surprised. The room we booked for 3 nights but which we only got a night in, was great and luxurious compared to the one we had to spend 2 nights in.

Again, let me stress that the staff at Riad Misria were great and did everything in their power to help us get some satisfaction in this set of avoidable circumstances. The Manager, Simo gave us dinner on the first night, plus transfers from the airport and a night free in compensation. I believe that he did all that he could to assist us, which was much appreciated. The blame lies with the owner.

Room Tip: When we finally got there, we had the Olivier room, which was great. I recommend that when you book...

I returned to Riad Misria with a friend about 10 days ago - just as beautiful as ever and always feel so welcome upon return. The location is just fantastic - in the heart of it but with a feeling of peace and space that is not easily found in Marrakech. The rooms are really lovely at this Riad and it was great to experience staying in a different room. In fact, the photos placed on Trip Advisor really do not do this property justice. If you are looking for a great place to stay, true hospitality, a great location and a place to have a little swim (they have an 11m pool in the courtyard - perfect for the midday heat)... choose this riad. We will be back.

I have just returned from 3 nights at Riad Misria with my daughter and can not fault anything, the decoration of the Riad has been completed to the highest standards from the communal spaces to the bedrooms and dining areas. Nothing is too much trouble for the smiling team at the Riad and they definitely go that extra mile to make sure your stay is perfect. The location is great and easy to find and not too far from the centre of the medina, itis a real treat to enter the cool calmness of this oasis to be met with mint tea after a busy time sightseeing and haggling in the hot souks.
Breakfast is served in the open terrace next to the pool and dinner (which needs to be booked in the morning) can be served on the roof top terraces, over looking the city. The tagine at the Riad was one of the best we tasted and after two weeks touring Morocco, we tasted a lot of tagines.
The personal service and relaxed atmosphere helped make our trip so special, I would not hesitate in recommending this place.

We stayed in the room that is on top of the riad what gave us more privacy compared to the other rooms. The streetss were very crowded and loud but once inside the riad you would not hear that anymore. You have to try the home made cooked dinner at least once, it is absolutely amazing just ask for it in advance. Michel the owner, and the staff was very friendly giving us tips on where and what to eat at the market
My girlfriend and I would definitely come back one day

My friends and I took three of their six "chambre" rooms (Arcades, Olivia, Patio) between Christmas and New Year's last year and had a lovely stay. The open bathrooms can take a bit of getting used to even if travelling as a couple but the architecture and colourful walls are quite beautiful. We ate one dinner and our breakfasts in the riad and the food was more than satisfactory. The pool was too cold to swim in but it and the other elements of the courtyard added so much character to our stay! Our hosts were helpful and hospitable and were able to provide us with shisha and orange juice to our satisfaction! The location of the riad is a bit far from the Djemaa el Fna (main square) but since it was our last stop in Morocco we were somewhat used to finding our way around the winding souk lanes :-) We made our reservation through Booking.com.

(N.B. A lot of Moroccan riads seem to have suspiciously similar looking, highly-positive reviews on TA. This is *not* a generic review!)

This is a great place to stay if you plan on visiting Morocco. For the last three days (17th-31st) my mother, niece, and I, have stayed at the Misria, and we are beyond satisified with the rooms, staff, food, and any additional ammenities.

We opted to stay in one of the Riad's apartments for three nights. The two-story room included two bedrooms, a dinning/living room equipped with a large foyer and sofa, a massive sit-in shower and two bathroom sinks. A chandelier dangles from the master bedroom's intricate ceiling, and the bed inside the room is large (king-sized, I think?) and very comfortable. The second room, though a smidgen smaller, is also nicely put together and it has more than enough space and comfort to satiate the needs of two people. Overall, the apartment is sprawling, impressive, and it vastly exceeded our spacial, comfort, and asthetic expectations. We've stayed in three different hotels during our time in Morroco, and the Misria has been the best by far in Marrakech.

Additionally, the rooms are just one postive element of the Misria. The staff is also extremely acceptional, honest, and attentive to one's needs. The Riad's owner, Michel, is also very welcoming, honest, generous, and extremely helpful. For example, he openly explained the "real" price of taxis and other popular materials that tourist typically obtain in the souks, information that can be extremely helpful when it's time to haggle.

The breakfast and dinner that we ate in the Riad were extremely delicious. The property also offers a terrace view which are perfect to see the sun set and rise, and there is also a quaint swimming pool which is perfect to escape the sun.

Overall, this is a great place to stay in a fine city, and I would definitely recommend the Misria to anyone looking for a pleasant place to rest their head and mind while staying in Marrakech.

Room Tip: Try to arrange pickup with the hotel.

We stayed here for 7nights and just found it the perfect haven to retreat to after a hectic day out in the city! The staff were all wonderful and would do anything for you, and the home cooked food was delicious- a must try!
The riad is in the heart of the Medina- close to the souks and Djemma el fna and yes you will get lost but the staff are always on hand to show you the way and the owner Michel will advise you on the best places to eat in the city.
The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccan style and there is an excellent Hamman and massage service definitely worth a try as well as an indoor pool.
If you're looking for a place with excellent customer service then this is definitely the place to go!
