Marrakech Ryads Parc & Spa
Ranked #248 of 502 Hotels in Marrakech

The Marrakech Ryads Parc & Spa experience.

The pleasant side of the holiday.
Easy jet flight from Bristol was very good and we arrived 35 minutes early, much to the enjoyment of all the passengers.
A lot of the staff at the hotel are very friendly. Our shuttle bus driver went above and beyond his normal duties. The apartment towels where changed EVER day. The food was always good and fresh at every meal time. Marrakech was very clean and we hardly noticed any rubbish on the streets, which was almost the same for the hotel. People of Marrakech are friendly enough but do hassle you when walking in the old city market areas. Swimming pool was very large and even when the hotel was at capacity, you didn’t feel crowded IN the pool.

THAT’S it- Good stuff done.

The NON pleasant part of the holiday to Morocco and the Marrakech Prac and Spa hotel.

From the beginning, but hopefully not too long…

Do NOT get your currency from any UK airport for Morocco. Bristol exchanged 10 Dinar to £1. Current exchange rate is 13/14 Dinar to £1! The hotel will give you a better rate and so will the airport in Morocco!
After landing you pass through passport control. 2 Hours of queuing and no air conditioning.
Arrived at the hotel after the 30 minute transfer at 11:30ish. We couldn’t get any food or any free drink, including water…
You will have to pay a TAX at the hotel. They will happily take almost any currency and will cost you £10 Per Person. It did cost us a £20 note!
On our bus back to the airport (return home), we spoke to other English families/ couples who had stayed in 4 different hotels and not one of them was charged any taxes for their stays…

The reception lady didn’t seem to know the hotel grounds as she sent us off to a different part of the grounds to find our room. A man watering the grass showed us to our rooms in the end, after 20 minutes of trying to find it.
Not a lot of choice in the way of alcoholic drinks if you are all inclusive. When we decided to drink Gin and Tonic, the bar quickly ran out of tonic water from the bottle, but where very happy to sell you a tin of tonic water!
If you decided to stay up past 11pm when the all-inclusive finishes, then you really needed the correct money to buy any drinks, as they had cashed up and had no change what’s so ever!
The drink also became very expensive. On par with UK prices for everything, including locally produced beer/ gin etc…
Your 30 minute SPA treatment is really only 20 minutes if they can fit you in. We tried to book the free treatment 2 days into our 7 day stay and where told they were fully booked, unless we wanted to pay 800 Dinar extra each for an upgrade, then no problem!
The pool dining area was always 20 minutes late opening and 15 minutes early closing. Drinks were served in small plastic glasses, which I think was to keep you fit by constantly walking to and from the bar or you would get so fed up of getting up, that you didn’t bother anymore! And you can only carry so many, with portion control tightly regulated on drinks, but not food.
You could watch English, French, Spanish people try to take food out the dining area and were always stopped. If you were local (Moroccan), then sometimes the staff would carry their food out for them (if you had a size 12 or less figure)!
You could get lunch in the pool bar area from 12:30- 14:30, but with limited choice (and free if you are all inclusive).
Pool area!
We found ourselves having to get up at about 07:30 so we could get a sun bed by the pool. If you left it any later than about 8:30- 9:00, then forget it!
It gets very hot, very quickly.
IF you’re not seen to using your sunbed from around 10:00, then staff will randomly throw your towel onto the grassed area and take your bed and build a lovely looking pile next to the bar area. I say random because if you a Moroccan guest, they know who you are and will not do anything to disrupt your relaxing holiday!
The poolside music starts at 10:00 with some light sounding tunes until water aerobics and 10:30- THEN all hell breaks loose. The music is so loud that me and my wife couldn’t talk to each other without having to shout! We are both early 40’s and still enjoy a good drink and a good night out on holiday, but this is unbelievable…
Massive speakers are positioned on the other side of the pool area. Music is then pumped out from 10:30 to 12:30. Over lunch it’s turned down until about 3pm, and then is put back into night club/ Ibiza mode. This carries on until about 18:30 when the pool area dies off and people go to get ready for the evening. You are almost forced out of the pool by 7pm. Not life guard- no swimming…

Health and any safety IS left at the airport when you arrive. Damaged floor ties, rusty pool area water filter covers, wires on the floor of the restaurant, covered over sometimes with old carpets. Fire exit doors with cycle locks, which are locked so you really cannot escape!

We got to know a lot of English people at the hotel and we all agreed that not one of us would return to this hotel.
A family of 4 had booked 2 apartments. (A couple with 2 teenage boys 13 & 15). On checking in they were told that the boys had to find another hotel as the Marrakech Ryads Parc & Spa only had 1 apartment available due to over booking. They ended up sharing the 1 apartment…

You CANNOT book a late checkout unless you have exceptional circumstances… If you have a later flight and want to freshen up, then you MUST use the Spa. When using the Spa showers, be careful not to shower with the hundreds of ants that are really happy to join you in the shower!

If you want to escape the heat, then you will have to go back to your room (Anytime) as anywhere else in the hotel has rubbish air con.. But you can’t do that as they will not give you a late check out!
The best part of the holiday was leaving it!
Limited WIFI signal is only available in the main hotel reception area.
When you get to the airport and want to use the duty free, don’t try and spend your left over Moroccan Dinar- they will NOT accept it. Euro’s or credit card only…

PLEASE save your hard earned money and go to another hotel…

Room Tip: you cant choose a room here, but request one AWAY from the pool area at all costs! Don't ask f...

Fantastic hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were two adults with 5 kids between us and went half board. Our rooms were on the second floor, so none of the insect problems noted by others, however the place does have loads of ants around, and the wasps can be a pain if you insist on drinking out by the pool. Our aircon worked fine, occasionally needed a bit of a reboot by taking out the card in the electric slot. Showers were a bit weak and cold on a couple of days, but other than that the beds were comfy, room was cleaned every day and the balconies roomy compared to some.

Plenty of sunbeds and the pools are fabulous, animation team are fun and really engaging. Evening entertainment was better than some I have had to sit through in the past and certainly wasn't unpleasant or embarrassing. A note to the lad moving the scenery around during the shows, where black and not white, you show up like a ghost on stage!

Food was excellent for me, the kids a bit less so. I found it on a par with Egypt and certainly better than Tunisia. If you want chips and pizza stay somewhere else. Breakfast was fresh eggs, pancakes, meats, omelettes, fruit, pastries and yoghurts. The mint tea is excellent. Lunches we ate in the poolside snack bar, they are a bit boring so we bought snacks in Marrakech and made it easier. Dinners were excellent, lots of tangines, salads, and hot dishes. Avoid the samosas, they have fish in then which was a shock for the kids!. Being half board you have to pay for water which is a bit of a shame and could be changed given it is a hot country. drinks were also paid for, although we were not there to get sloshed and the cans of drink were better than the local all inclusive stuff anyway! We were advised on paying for drinks on arrival in the restaurant, however we only paid for it once in seven days.

Shuttle bus into Marrakech is really good for the price 20 drhs a return which is about £1.35. so we had a trip in, the new city is more sensible and commercial, lots of shops, supermarkets and chain restaurants. The Old City is more intricate and easy to get lost in, the Souk was ok for adults but not for kids, to crowded and busy, and they felt intimidated.

Take lots of sun cream high factors as you will get burnt if you are not regimented with the regime.

I did not find any of the reception or staff rude or ignorant in any way, I don't speak French at all but managed to liaise and communicate with them in an efficient manner. I found them helpful and they did not speak to the French or Moroccans first or any thing along those lines. If you are polite, patient, and treat others as you would like to be treated yourself it goes a long way in life.

Would I stay there again? yes I would, and certainly as a couple or with friends for a relaxing break. With kids, I think you would like to see a lazy river added to the site to give them a bit more to do during the day as they can get a bit bored with a week by a pool. I would highly recommend it

Room Tip: get the second floor if you can. go for the family rooms they are a bit bigger and have better bathr...

Lovely hotel, but some parts not maintained to enhance the stay i.e.. no fountains were switched on, despite the gardens being well maintained. All inclusive drinks were limited with some spirits (no Rum allowed) Very little English spoken, so monopolised by French guests; including the evening entertainment, which as all done by the animation team (no outside entertainers) so became 'samey'. Animation team worked hard throughout the day and evening. Limited shade around the hotel especially on the terrace (so nobody sat there during the day) Sunbeds available throughout the day around beautiful pool. Spa beauticians did not give full free allowance on the massage only 15 minutes, they were abrupt and only spoke in French so not very relaxing. Gym facilities good but under used and not manned (ask for the air con. controls from the downstairs beautician as it is not left on) Hotel return shuttle to medina was 20 md (<£2) each so quite cheap. Taxis try to rip you off if they can (once they know you are English). Use hotel excursions if you can instead of rep's., as more tailored to your needs and cheaper.
Very few English guests.

We have just returned from 7 days relaxing by the pool, plenty of food selection at all meal times 1 of our group is coeliac and always had plenty of choice. Spa was fantastic with the scrub and massage very relaxing. We only spoke a little French but the odd please and thank you got us by and the staff were all very friendly, if in doubt then please fall back on the failsafe of "bonne le douche " or "mange tout rodney , mange tout" it worked for us. My only complaint was the lad on the inside bar who was quite rude and would leave you stood there whilst he did nothing. When he did see fit to serve he made up for it with an exciting game of drinks roulette so you always had a surprise as it was rarely what was ordered. The gym facilities were good but seemed to lead towards chest day (fine for me ) and looking at some of the other guests they had skipped leg day too.Dont be put off by negative reviews , if you want a clean room decent food and all inclusive drinks with lots of sun then please go and stay here. If you are going here with the intention of having a jog/run I advise against it unless you are faster than a pack of large stray dogs which can be found down the road , and shortly after running up the road at me (good for sprint traing though so silver linings and all that. Oh and one of our group was in wheel chair and staff were very helpful with that too.

We stayed here for 7 nights. 5 of us the hotel although its far from town the free shuttle makes it alot easier for a visit to town. Theres so much going on at the hotel the kids did not want to leave. The animation team work so hard allday long even in the evenings. The reception staff like Walid nd Samiya were very helpful. Nina,Latif,Hind are some of the names which I know who were excellent from the animation team. Definitely want to come back.

This hotel was a bargain at £330 for 3 nights, all inclusive with flights and even a 30min massage thrown in...

The staff weren't very accommodating and much like the other reviews state, I believe the language barrier made a huge impact on whom they wanted to talk/attend to.

The food average and strict on times, food very "samey"... Certainly couldn't of stayed longer!

The massage was more hassle then it was worth as the therapists were confused that we didn't have to pay and seemed annoyed that it was thrown in... It ended up only lasting 10mins!

For a cheap getaway this is ideal if you want some peace and sun. But I certainly wouldn't go back....

We went to All inclusive for two days..I must say, rooms are good, pool was great size and animation team work really hard from morning to late evening and did a great job. However rest of the staff, bar staff and reception are un-attentative, impersonal and some what rude. Very bad English as well. So if you know French, go ahead, but with English you will struggle to communicate. Evening, Lunch and breakfast organized very well...plenty of sitting area and food and variety.

Room Tip: Wifi only in reception and not the best one anyway.
