“Fantastic!!!”
Reviewed 25 December 2013 via mobile

We stayed at Riad Cocoon the week before Christmas. We were made to feel very welcome; the staff were very friendly and professional. As an ignorant couple, their English was excellent.

The room was lovely, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was powerful. The iPod loaded with a playlist was a nice addition, very thoughtful.

Breakfast was really healthy and filling; fresh fruit with yoghurt although a bit repetitive.

Just a note to those who have never been to Marrakech before, look for the signs high up on the left of the tiny twisty streets if you're going to the main square and don't be afraid if you get lost...ask a female shop assistant as you'll get directions for free!

Overall, a fantastic and memorable trip. Very well priced and would definitely come back.

Corinne, Simo and Tariq are perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome.

Thank you for a lovely few days!!

Regards, Cathy and Richard xx

I would definitely recommend this accommodation. What impressed us most was the personal and friendly service we received. We were greeted by the owner, who gave us a suggested itinerary and advice on places to see and eat and usually met us on our return each day to enquire what we had been up to. It was more like being a guest in a private home than a hotel. They also arranged airport transport and taxis for us. Her team of staff were all very friendly and helpful. We were escorted out to a local landmark on our first day so that we would not get lost and escorted to restaurants, that we would never have found otherwise, in the evening.

There are ony 5 rooms, which again adds to the homely feel. Ours was quite small and a bit dark but comfortable and clean enough. The only disturbance to sleep was the call to pray at all hours but you would probably be disturbed by that anywhere in Marrakesh. My only critcism of the room was that there wasn't very much storage/hanging space for clothes.

Meals were served on a lovely sunny roof terrace. Breakfasts became a bit repetitive and were carb heavy but we did not go hungry. We ate dinner in on our first evening. The food was delicious but you need a hearty appetite as you can only order the 3 course set meal was too much for us. You need to give plenty of notice if you want to eat in.

The roof terrace was a lovely sanctuary to retire too when you tired of the dusty, busy streets, where you could feel in a world apart from the outside. There is also a small hamam in the riad, which we indulged in and thoroughly enjoyed. (Not cheap though.) There is a small pool on the ground floor and although it is an attractive feature I'm not sure that one would ever want to use it as it sort of in reception.

This riad is in a good location in the medina for visiting the souks and all the main sights of the old town.

Most people, we discovered, tend to stay in Marrakesh for a couple of days and move on and this place is perfect for that purpose. i would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: The best room is the one on the top floor which is larger and has its own private sun terrace.

We don't have enough positive adjectives to describe this riad and how it's made our stay in marrakech absolutely wonderful.

From arrival to this tranquil place (greeted with a nice mint tea and chat with owner Corinne) to our final fantastic breakfast before we went to explore the souks for the last time- this has been a great experience.

Staff are exceedingly friendly, the food is incredible (don't, whatever you do, go have dinner at le foundouk for example, the meals at the riad are incredible), and the hammam is nice and private.

Corinne advised us to go on an excursion to the atlas mountains and have lunch with a berber family and this turned out to be a great choice. There is one negative review on here from a parisian couple. I am not sure what happened, but we had the complete opposite experience. Would definitely recommend it to everyone and would come back here as well!

When you enter Riad Cocoon, it's like you've been transferred to another world. The decor and style of the Riad is amazing - very charming, comfortable and tranquil. Corinne and her team were wonderful hosts and were able to help us out with suggestions of where to visit, eat and sight see. We were made to feel very welcomed and taken care of.
We enjoyed the breakfast every morning and had dinner at the Riad during our stay and were never disappointed. We took advantage of the Spa treatments, which were well worthwhile having, especially after a long day walking around the market square.
We highly recommend the Riad Cocoon for a stay in Marrakech.

We were warmly welcomed and looked after by Corinne and her team even before we arrived. We followed all of Corinne's suggestions and were delighted. On our first afternoon, Simone directed us to the souk for a quick visit. We returned to a traditional hamman and argan oil massage followed by a memorable dinner on the patio. For the next day, Corinne had arranged a day trip to the Atlas Mountains with hike and lunch at a Berber village. Our guide had studied three years of Arabic law and was able to discuss Moroccan history, culture and politics. That night, Tarik walked us to Dar Zellij for a beautiful dinner - yet another of Corinne's recommendations.

Everything was perfect - including our rooftop room with comfortable bed and luxury sheets and towels. I highly recommend Riad Cocoon.

Room Tip: The Nirvana room is the nicest.

This place is so lovely and well hidden away. The owner Corinne and her team are just amazing and so friendly, always at hand to help or recommend. The riad is very small and cosy, with just a few rooms. The deco is modern but still very Marrakech. There is a gorgeous terrace upstairs where breakfast is served everyday. We only had dinner there once, but it was very nice. The rooms are very clean, a bit basic but has a/c and a great shower. Its located in the Medina about 10-15min walk to the main square. The immediate area is a bit crazy and takes some getting use to - but taxis are available and can be booked - not expensive at all. Corinne organised 2 day trips for us which we highly recommend doing if you are there for a week.
