It´s a really tipical beautiful riad, the room was good for a family. A little bit cold in the winter, but I´m shore is perfect for summer. If you ask for transport at the aeroport, be carefull, because you will pay 20€ for it but when you arrive, there are a guys waiting that you might think they are from the hotel, but they will ask you for more 10€ for the bag transportation, and it´s a very small distance!
The Breakfast it´s Ok (nothing special) with natural fresh orange juice and very well served by the waitresses. We were lucky with our room, but there were some rooms with lack of. privacy. Sometimes a little bit noisy, we could ear the peolple talking in the bar. The staff was in general very nice.

First of all i stayed at the Riad Vendome recently and skruk's comment is completely wrong (probly a competitor) there are no bedbugs. Now for the honest assessment: Riad Vendome is almost there. The location is within walking distance of just about everything, and walking is the best way to see the real marrakech. finding the riad without a driver or guide can be a bit harrowing if you have never been to marrakech, because it is impossible to find without the assistance of one of the street kids, who you need to give a few durham for the help once the taxi goes as far as it can, dropping you off at a square called dar el bacha. You arent being hustled when the kids lead you into a dark alleyway next to nut/candy vendor--thats how you get to the riad. The staff consists mainly of two women who work for Eric, the owner, who are incredibly nice and eager to help. Their English is not quite there, but they are full of joy. We expected to be picked up at the airport but no one was there to meet us even after we tried to sort it out with them on the phone. The Riad is a newly renovated Riad, so the plumbing and electricity were problematic at times. the rooms face a central courtyard down below, so it can be a bit loud at times (although the girls were happy to turn it down when we asked)--not a problem when you are out late in the wonderful city, which the Riad is so well located in. When we explained our grievances to eric at the end of our stay, he gave us a partial refund, which I think was very fair of him and the final price came out to about 75$/night/person--which is what i think i would have paid for this experience. I would definilty consider staying here again once eric works out the water/electricity (the hot water was unreliable and the power went out a few times--but nothing that would make a stay there intolerable).

The hotel looks nice on the surface but the problems are there nevertheless.
The room was extremely dirty, and if that was the only problem that would be fine. The unexpected surprise waiting for me on my return home, was the bed bugs i got from this hotel. It is inexcusable for a supposedly luxury hotel to have bed bugs. It is very expensive, the service is poor to say the least and of course they charge an extra fee if you pay by credit card, which they never tell you in advance.
Avoid for the sake of your health.

Dear,

Better than a long answer to justify a comment from someone who never come in our riad,

If a customer find some "bedbugs" in their bed, we will reimburse him.

I stayed at Riad Vendome in Marrakesh in July 2010 with my wife, her brother, my parents and my sister. Our experience with Riad Vendome and Eric personally was great from the start. We booked the hotel through a third party website that quoted us 80 Euros less than the price it should have been. When Eric sent us the email with final confirmation and price of the stay, I brought this to his attention. Eric informed me that the website had made a mistake and immediately offered, to our delight, to charge us the price quoted by the website in order to honor the quote. Eric arranged for us to be picked up from the airport in a modern air-conditioned people’s carrier as it would have been dificult to find the Riad otherwise. This is one thing I really loved about the Riad: its location. The Riad is situated in the heart of a modest neighborhood in the old part of the town. It is a hidden gem and it’s almost impossible to believe such a trendy and beautiful Riad is hidden in the midst of all of these old houses and narrow streets. It felt really good and relaxing to come back to the Riad after all the hustle and bustle of the town for a perfect Zen moment where you can’t hear a single noise from the outside world (except the call to prayer). The splash pool was wonderful to alleviate the summer heat of Marrakesh. Eric was extremely helpful in advising us on places to visit, places to eat and even provided us with a map and a small book about the best restaurants in town. I would recommend this Riad to anyone who wants an authentic yet modern and relaxing stay in Marrakesh. If I ever go back to Marrakesh, I would not stay anywhere else.

Stayed at Eric's Riad for a couple of nights in July and we had a brilliant time. The riad is exquisitely decorated. A traditional Arabic riad with a modern design scheme that exhibits clean lines and minimal ornamentation and that cherishes open space and the love for light. The riad feels authentic yet with a welcoming atmosphere that you will enjoy returning to at the end of a hot day walking around the souks. The pool and the terrace area are great areas for socializing under the Moroccan sky with other guests at the riad.
Eric is an impeccable host. He was completely accomodating from the moment we booked till the minute we left the riad. He speaks good English and can provide very good advice on where to eat and what to visit. He also organized our transfers from/to the airport. I was also pleasantly surprised that the van used was modern, airconditioned and driven by a 'safe' driver!
Brilliant place especially if you are looking for a romantic gataway.

Really lovely place, even if slightly tricky to find, but you really feel away from the hectic city beyond. Great service and very friendly service, lovely rooms and would definitely recommend to friends. The pool is a lovely addition, the perfect way to cool down after a few hours wondering the souks. Also a lovely roof terrace.

This was our first trip to Marrakech and when we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Eric and Nawal, who gave us invaluable advices and recommendations during a drink.
The location of the riad is excellent, nearby the Royal Palace, and easy to walk to the souks and the nouvelle ville. The riad is very pleasant, the roof terrace is lovely, the room (Marrakech suite) was very nice and spacious and we had free internet access.
We definitly recommend riad Vendome: the food is excellent, the staff is friendly and helpful.
Fantastic place. We will be back!
