“Absolute Perfection!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 March 2012

I don't recall ever having had the pleasure of staying at place with such a level of excellence in every detail. Truly I can't praise Riad Joya and it's staff highly enough. The riad itself is a understated oasis of absolute elegance and luxury well situated in the Medina. The rooms are beautiful and the bathrooms indulgent. The staff insures that every moment of one's stay is perfect. From the beginning of booking with Sophie's, to our arrival and being met at the gate to the Medina by Nordin, to our check in with Khalid, everything went smoothly and gave the feeling of the wonderful stay that would follow. 24 hours a day someone is present to grant the smallest request or to walk one anywhere in the Medina. This service makes all of the difference with making sure one's experience of Marrakech is pleasurable. On this note, I must give an extra special thank you to Nordin for personally helping us with even the tiniest thing from navigating the Medina and finding shops we had been recommended, to escorting us to and from our dinners out, to his friendly smile and pleasant conversation.

Should you have the pleasure of staying here I highly recommend choosing to stay at the riad for dinner one evening and treating yourself to sampling the Moroccan salads. They are only part of a larger wonderful meal but truly delicious and memorable.

Don't look any further for the perfect place to stay in the Marrakech Medina, Riad Joya is it!

Room Tip: We had the pleasure of being able to see a few of the rooms that weren't occupied one day and I...

My wife and I stayed here four days during a trip around Morocco and rank it number one! The butler (yes, actual butler, not just Concierge) met us at the train station on our long trip from Fes (10hrs after driving over a herd of sheep apparently) with a taxi, drove us to the riad, and had a guy with a wagon carry all of our bags to the narrow alleys that led to paradise. We were asked to sit in a room with soft lighting (like everywhere in Morocco) and were served the usual tea and biscuits. Then he showed us our room along with other rooms in the riad to see which we preferred to stay in. The rooms were beautiful, as was the central garden and roof terrace for a huge breakfast daily. He then proceeded to walk us to our friends hotel about 15 mins away, and would wait in the alley at night until we got home to walk us the rest of the way. He would prepare the room with lit candles and snacks before we arrived each night. He booked an excellent hammam for us and our friends, arranged an all day local tour guide to show us sights and go shopping, and even took our friends carpets to a taxi when we left despite them staying elsewhere. The staff alone makes it worth staying here in addition to the amazing city of Marrakech, the rooms, the food, the shopping, and people. Will come back in a heartbeat!

Wonderful place, amazingly chic . The staff is helpful, kind, smiling.
Ideal for a delightful stay in Marrakech away from crowded and noisy big hotels. Everything is clean, refined and tailor made.
You should have dinner at the hotel, better than any restaurant around, since the cook is amazing.
Sunbathing in the quite and sunny terrace is just a dream
Just go.

The hotel was like you had opened the doors to an oasis. This hotel is hidden in the Heart of Marrakech with acrobats and jugglers, snake charmers, musicians, fresh fruit juice and food galore! An alluring and exotic hotel a magical, chic hotel brimming with moroccan culture and hospitality. The staff just could not do enough for you and made us feel so welcome. Breakfast was delicious, pastries, yoghurt, Moroccan or English tea, eggs how you like and moroccan pancakes with honey, pure decadence. All I can say is that this hotel was heavenly, pure bliss and elegant in every way! Tres Bien!

Room Tip: Domus room was splendid, great views of the riad.

The riad is positioned right in the heart of the Old Medina, beautifully done up but most importantly the staff is impeccable in their consideration of your needs. Nothing was too much effort for them. They gave invaluable advice and directions! Our dinner at the Riad Joya was our best meal during our stay! Superb.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great!

Outstanding stay at the Riad Joya over New Year's on our first trip to Marrakech. We can't recommend Riad Joya enough - it is a wonderful place to stay. Terrific service from the nicest people, absolutely beautiful property - the rooms are an oasis from the chaos in Marrakech, the dining room and sitting room are furnished extremely nicely, the terrace is lovely, and the meals were outstanding. When we're lucky enough to return to Marrakech, we will definitely return to the Riad Joya.

Room Tip: Ottomane Room has a nice fireplace!
