“Worst hotel I've stayed!”
Reviewed 18 April 2013

Easy to find as close to the main square. Staff was nice and welcoming. But our room was unclean with mould everywhere. Bed was uncomfortable with smelly bedding and there was only enough space in the room for bed and two people standing. When I asked for towels I was given two wet, dirty towels with blood stains. That's when we decided to stay for one night only. Breakfast was ok, like in the most riads, tea, coffee, juice with some bread and pancakes. Although this riad is very cheap it's not worth the money.

VERY disappointed. I tried to set up pickup or get more information for arrival, but no one would respond to emails. The taxi driver could only take us so far. It ended up being quite an ordeal to find the riad. Inside the lobby, it smelled strongly of mold.

The room was fair. It was clean and the fan worked well to circulate air and get it to cool down. If you aren't used to uncomfortable beds, though, you won't sleep well. Our beds were a mattress resting on plywood. The springs were easily felt, and the plywood was bigger than the mattress, so you had to be careful to not scrape yourself when getting in and out of bed. The beds also take up enough room in the bedroom that one of them partially blocks the doorway so that you have to step over the edge of the bed in order to get in or out of the door.

The bedroom door could only be locked with a key when you were inside the room. It was fairly quiet, but we were also the only guests on the 2nd floor. However, people ringing the doorbell repeatedly was quite annoying. The staff person was often otherwise engaged, so we were treated to constant doorbell ringing and door knocking until someone finally showed up to open the lobby doors.

In the morning, we could not get out since the main door is locked with a key from the inside. There is no bell at the desk, so no way to get staff's attention you need help. We had to hunt down a housekeeper who was able to let us out.

We were told breakfast was included, yet there was none. We were told they had WiFi, but "it hasn't been working for days." We travel full time, and I need WiFi in order to be able to work so this was a problem for us. They just countered that we could go to the riad next door and use theirs if we wanted.

Their booking page states they accept credit cards, but they do not. So plan on bringing cash.

We decided to leave after 1 night. They tried to charge us more money since we had reserved a room for 3 nights. I calmly explained that I need WiFi for work and picked their place only because they say they have it. As they do not, we had to leave. When they persisted in demanding more money from me, I listed all the problems and said we would be leaving and not paying more than was due. They persisted in trying to bully me into paying more money until I offered to get the police involved.

I can't remember having a more frustrating hotel experience with such a conglomeration of issues.

I booked this hotel without reading a single reviews of previous travelers, my reason was it offered free transport to/from airport and breakfast and had good location.
The place is nice has 7 different rooms, less than 2 min walk to Jema el Fna,is not noisy ,was clean and had comfy beds and had air-condition ,Ensuite bath and shower, room for double was okay,no shampoo,no T.V ,No toilet paper but you need to ask the reception they will provide it to you.
Friendly reception guys
The Hotel offers a very basic breakfast : Jam and butter, bread ,Coffee but not tea,and hot milk.served from 08:00 till 11:00 AM
The hotel offers free transport from aiport :that's very handy as it was our first time and the location of the hotel can be difficult to find since if you are there for the first time.
The reception is NOT 24/7, It is open till 02:00 AMevery time you wanna get in the hotel you need to knock the door since the front gate or door is mostly closed.
In my opinion it is a good place to be if you are in Marrakesh for the first time, worth to mention that there are plenty of hotels around it, so if you do not like this one you can always change.
The hotel has a nice balkony where you can have a drink and breakfast, worth to mention that room 5 has NO air-condition
