“Outstanding Riad In Marrakech”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

Recently stayed here with some friends over the course of several days and we had an incredible stay.

Isabelle and Christian are the perfect hosts. They are kind, friendly and go out of their way to be helpful.

The beautiful riad is clean, comfortable, spacious and quiet. We loved the lounge area downstairs and the rooftop terrace which has a bunch of seating areas and a plunge pool.

The rooms are very clean with Moroccan decor and clean, modern bathrooms.

I recommend having Isabelle and Christian arrange your pickup at the airport. This'll help you find the road when you arrive and better get you oriented.

The location is perfect. It is close to the main square and a few other sites in the city.

I suggest having dinner at the riad for an extra but worthwhile charge. We had dinner there twice and the homemade Moroccan food was phenomenal. The morning breakfasts are also a really great way to start the day.

Very much recommend Riad Badi.

We were picked up as promised at the really nice airport in Marrakech by a friendly driver! Once we arrived in the old town he walked us down many unmarked winding dirt alleyways and we arrived at a beautiful wooden door! All the while we are wondering how will we ever find our way back? The door opened and we literally stepped into a courtyard that was this beautiful oasis of Moroccan decor, beautiful red flowers and stunning architecture. We were immediately greeted by Isabelle who told us to have a seat and relax (our arrival was early 8:00am) and they would serve us a delightful breakfast. This was totally unexpected and delicious! After breakfast Isabelle gave us an orientation and Christian arrived from his jog. He took us to the markets and we walked for 3 hours while he told us the do's and don'ts of Marrakech. This in itself was invaluable, unexpected and very entertaining! Riad Badi is everything you need in a bed and breakfast. The hibiscus room was gorgeously decorated in Moroccan red colors with rose petals scattered everywhere! A massive rain shower that would hold 8 people! We had breakfast each morning with fresh yogurt, fruits and yummys! Would highly recommend the red hop on hop off buses! A great way to see the Old and New towns. Of our 3 nights and 4 full days we spent a lot of time at CozyBar. It is a 2 minute walk and you won't be disappointed! Great drinks, food and service and a wonderful singer and keyboard player for nightly entertainment. Not to mention the surroundings and view are gorgeous. Also, had dinner next door (ask Isabelle) the Moroccan place they recommended and another French place for a delicious lunch which was also their suggestion! Have dinner at the Riad if you get a chance. We requested the lamb tagine and it did not disappoint. It was just us that night for dinner so we sat on the beautiful courtyard and had a romantic dinner. We had no idea what to expect from Marrakech and were a little intimiated with the sheer traffic chaos upon arrival but got used to it by day 2! I don't think we have ever experienced the level of service that Isabelle and Christian provided to us for the entire stay! Nothing was too much trouble. Make sure you enjoy the sundeck and have your breakfast there at least once. Looking at the view of the storks on top of the palace is a must and very relaxing. I am late in this review as we stayed in Mid-May. Would recommend going this time of year as well. The Riad was close to everything and a "find." We would give it 6 stars if we could! Book it now, you won't regret it!

Room Tip: The hibiscus room is gorgeous. Comfortable King bed and HUGE walk in rain shower. Linens and towel...

Riad Badi was the perfect place to stay in Marrakesh. Isabelle and Christian were amazing hosts, and took care of our every need. The Riad itself is just a 5 minute walk from all the major sites in the Medina, but it couldn’t seem further from the hustle and bustle of the streets. We loved our yummy breakfasts every morning and looked forwarding to relaxing on the peaceful rooftop every day after exploring. Don’t look anywhere else, Riad Badi has it all!

After many years of wanting to visit Marrakech I have just returned from a 4 night stay at Riad Badi and the trip was simply perfect. After reading all of the reviews before booking I felt safe that my friends and I would be well looked after by our hosts Isabella and Christian and we certainly were.

As we arrived in the evening we pre arranged to have a Moroccan meal in the Riad, the food was delicious.

Christian spent time with us on arrival reviewing the local maps and offering us some guidance on the best way to see Marrakesh and remain safe and the following morning walked with us around the town pointing out where to exchange money where to eat and where not to eat.

We took tours our hosts recommended which were well organized and effortless, quad biking/camel riding/mountain climbing and a superb visit to a little spa that Isabella uses. We used guides and drivers and they were always polite and informative.

Our rooms were tranquil and beautifully decorated, very comfy beds and pillows and crisp white linen. Plenty of towels, air con and free Wifi were appreciated.

Breakfast was an experience in itself, the attention to detail and variety was a treat every morning. The Riad was quiet and during the time spent relaxing on the terrace you could have been a million miles away from the hustle and bustle only moments away.

Nothing was too much trouble, thank you both.

In the busiest place in the whole world Isabella and Christian have managed to create a tranquil paradise of Moroccan beauty. First things first. There was only one negative thing about this trip. It was only 4 days long. The rest is just awesome.
We arrived at the Riad to be given a really inclusive welcome orientation by Christian. He had maps, attraction details and suggestions for food. Being three women he offered reassurance that we were safe here and that he would recommend places where we being women would not offend the locals. In all fairness this is a city that receives a multitude of tourists and therefore it is easy going as a destination.
We checked into the rooms (the turquoise for me and the hibiscus for my two mates) which are so beautifully done. Each room is themed and Isabella and Christian have obviously taken time to plan every detail. The showers are excellent. The bedding is crisp and fresh. The towels are heavy weight and large. But it really is the finishing touches that makes this place awesome.
Christian and Isabella (who he calls the boss) have an eye for the beautiful and traditional touches from the area that make the place beautiful. It was truly a sensory experience there.
Nothing too much trouble. I could not find one fault and I am a princess when it comes to hotels.
We had an evening meal with them on the first night for 20 euros a head and it was well worth it. The food in general was awesome and the breakfasts something to behold. Every day different pancakes and bread with a selection of delicious preserves and some fruit. The yoghurt is absolutely yum. Isabella has again influenced the finishing touches with the Moroccan crockery.
All in all this place deserves every positive review I have read.
Isabella and Christian will arrange door to door transfers and they pay the driver for you which will be on your bill, who takes you right to the door. This is a must because we would not have found it otherwise. We paid 20 euros each way.
Isabella recommended a traditional hammamm for us which was the one she uses and absolutely lush. A massage of aching legs was a lovely last day treat.
They also organised the trips we did (mountain waterfall climb and camel/quad combo).
Absolute jewel of a place which I cannot rate higher. Well done Isabella and Christian. Much love. Vive la France.

We have just returned from our first trip to Marrakesh. We chose our accommodation carefully so that we had an authentic feel of the city and its people. We found the riad tucked away from the hubbub of the main square but a short stroll away from all the noise and chaos that is Marrakesh! Our room was delightful, comfortable and relaxing. When we arrived we were orientated by our host Christian and taken out on a 2 hour walking tour to familiarize ourselves. We were advised about pitfalls and where to visit very comprehensively. Isabelle makes the most delicious and original breakfasts, my highlight, with a different type of bread or pancake, homemade yoghurt and fruit, and different conserve every morning, served outside in the courtyard or upstairs on the terrace. We ate in two particularly good restaurants, le dejeuner Marrakesh and Al Fassia where the service and typically Morrocan cuisine in beautiful tranquil surroundings was a delight. We went on two day trips with a driver reommended by our hosts, Adil who was courteous, and informative and nothing was too much trouble for him, plus he was a careful good driver! Our transfer to and from the airport arranged by Isabelle and Christian were also taken by very pleasant reliable drivers. All in all a very well run riad with charming helpful hosts, the little things they did, like providing fresh bottles of water without being asked made this the perfect place to stay. By the way the visit to the Hamman Isabelle uses is a must, the most unusual wonderful experience ever. We'll be back and thank you Isabelle and Christian.
