This riad is our last stay in Morocco. The car service arranged by the riad is costly and an alternate way may be better. The riad is very modern and very sophisticated. Upon arrival at the hotel, Adil brought us a towel and mint tea to refresh ourselves. We ate our dinner there, too. The menu is limited but the food was good. I also had spa service there, including hammam using black soap and 60 minutes massage. Moroccan black soap made my skin soft and clean.
We needed to go to Marrakech airport to catch 6:00 AM flight. Adil woke us up and prepared breakfast, although we requested only tea. He came to say good-by all the way to the car.
Adil gave a final touch to our Moroccan trip. Everywhere we went, we met very kind and patient people like Adil. Our trip to Morocco is very memorable one.

We stayed at the Riad Shanima for three nights and enjoyed every minute we spent there. From the moment we were welcome through the door with a smile by the lovely, friendly and helpful Adil (who we nicknamed "La Star de Shanima") we were conquered. The riad is extremely clean, spacious, light, beautifully decorated, comfortable, tranquil.... It is situated about 15mns walk from the city's main square tucked in at the end of a typical medina small alley. It is an ideal place to escape the madness that it Marrakech.

We first booked this place online a few weeks prior to arriving. We were staying in the Room Figurier. We were three adults travelling so they put in an additional bed in the room. We arrived in the afternoon and were pleasantly greeted by the staff with some mint tea and sweets. The staff was very sincere and helped us tremendously with our trip to Marrakech. Upon our initial arrival we requested to do the Hammam Spa and Massage the same day; the staff arranged it to be done in 2 hours. The Hammam and Massage were sublime and left us feeling great. Me and my friends tried to navigate the souks but felt very overwhelmed with the number of locals trying to bother us to buy their products or direct us in other directions; so we asked the staff if they could arrange a guide for us for the following day. We had a great guide take us through the souks and also visit the tourist sites. Also, we wanted to see the Atlas Mountains and the Ourika Valley, and the staff also arranged a guide with a nice air conditioned comfortable van to take us. We found it very good to have these locals take us on the tours/activities because it felt very personalized and we were on our own schedule rather than a large tour group. The people providing the tours were also fantastic and very knowledgable.

Every night we would return to the Riad's excellent food on the terrace followed by some excellent mint tea and Hookah. We found the food to be delicious and very authentic. The Riad's staff members were undoubtedly the nicest people in Marrakech. The facilities were spectacular, we would certainly rate the room 5 stars. I strongly advise anyone who is travelling to Marrakech and looking top notch accommodations to stay a this riad.

Riad Shanima is a beautiful riad in the Northern part of the Médina. We stayed in Riad Shanima in March for around a week because of a coincidence: My wife and me chose another Riad but it closed so that we could not stay there. This coincidence was the best thing that could have happened! The whole time we really felt at home and enjoyed the fact that we now stayed in a Riad and spa. We slept in spacious room Oranger, with a wonderful bed and a vast bathroom with two sinks. Asma, the directrice of the Riad, spoke English very well and helped us with reservations in restaurants, gave helpful tips and planned tours for us (one to Essaouira at the seaside, one to the High Atlas mountains and the transfer to the airport). The drivers she organised were always superb - friendly and helpful, being a guide and driver at the same time. ʿĀdil, the gardien, was always in the Riad to help us in the case of questions. Moreover, he fulfilled every wish we had as soon as possible. Wafāʾ perfectly prepared the meals: We enjoyed once our dinner in the Riad - it is a pity that we did only do it once at the end of our stay in Marrakesh. Nadia did everything in the ḥammam and did her work really well: Even though her English was not quite as good as the others’, we could communicate with gestures and smiles without problems. The ḥammam again we tried too late so that we had no possibility to repeat it during our stay. We did not test the massages nor the whirl pool, but it is clear that - with all the spa-facilites they provide - it is worth coming to Riad Shanima only for relaxing and recovering from everyday life.
Our overall-experience was really good and we are already planning to come back next year around the same time.
