A town and a hotel to avoid. When we got there we were downgraded in our choice of rooms , though we had paid for an upgrade, it was only when my wife started to speak French that we got moved , there is a real feel of no interest in you if you are from the UK ? . Had a drink in the bar to recover got charged 30 pounds yes pounds for a kir royale . The rest of the trip is a blur of mistakes no pillows when you request them , a guide recommended by the hotel to provide a history of the Souk dumping us in a carpet shop where we struggled to get out without a contribution to the " Moroccan economy " , sub standard spar a rip off for the price and three days before we got offered any bread for breakfast or any poolside service. The town is a rip off taxi drivers almost hold you hostage until you give them what they want. In addition real danger in the Souk as runners descend on tourists and verbally abuse you for money. My advice go anywhere else but here.

Room Tip: Haggle , like you do with everything else in Marrakech

....ridiculous, expensive prices ruined the stay. Also beware of the 50 dirham a day tax you pay.
Rooms nice-we got a pool view upgrade and bathroom had Hermes products. Service was good, smiling staff. They speak mainly French but switched to English easily when they figured out we didnt speak French. Lobby beautiful and pool area nice but far too busy. So Restaurant was great and the manager very friendly-the food was best here.

We went at the end of August- bad mistake. I would go at Ramadan next time as it would have been quieter. Hotel was rammed with people, very much like being in a resort in Tenerife, a lot of footballer and wag types. and you had to go reserve a pool bed if you wanted one which i thought was ridiculous-they wouldnt condone that in a 5 star in London nor any other place ive stayed at.

Food was nice but overpriced. I did get food poisoning one day as did my hubby but no idea if this was from what we ate at the hotel or what we had outside the hotel. I would advise using bottled water to brush your teeth at all times and carry antibacterial handgel wherever you go.

If i went back to Marrakech i'd stay elsewhere-the Four Seasons or a top class riad. i wouldnt stay here again as its not worth the prices.

Visited from the UK with my Boyfriend for a long weekend in need of switching off- sadly disappointed with our choice of hotel.

Several hidden taxes that we were not made away of initially. The service was ok nothing of merit, the rooms comfortable. The food was ok but pricey. If looking for something that's not too expensive and in a good location this will be aok.

Visiting as a couple from london in need of a break from the stress and routine, we wanted a luxury hotel with a pool as a sanctury away from the medina and Riads. Sofitel certainly delivers from the moment you arrive. I had informed them it was my wife's 30th birthday so kindly made a cake and had it waiting in the room on arrival.

Incredible pool and gardens, with what seemed like a large sunbed sofa for every guest and more, very helpful staff (service and speed were top notch and fuss-free), and one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept on. If we had to grumble, the carpet could do with replacing and bathroom updating, given its a 5 star hotel.

A good choice of bars and restuarants, yes they are pricey, but no different from other 5 stars around the world. There is no tip line on bills which is a nice compromise, and you dont feel people are just after a tip.

A perfect getaway for some african sun!

Good hotel, although a bit anonymous ... We could have been in any country with sunshine and palm trees. Morocco was not there, but only on my, at that point disenchanted, imagination ...
The location is central, in a nice area of the modern city full of greenery, villas and hotels of high standard.
Good service and comfortable room, but again without the taste of the exotic ... We had planned to spend here, even the last two nights of our trip to Morocco after the excursion in the Sahara, but we canceled the reservation in favor of a traditional riad where I hope to find the charm of the celebrated Marrakech.

The hotel is well located. It is very modern, and the spa area is beautiful. The pool is great, but not heated. The rooms are very spacious, but some of them have an awful smell, make sure you request a higher floor. The hotel has a terrace that is wonderful, with great ambiance; and a full bar. The staff is very nice, but not so efficient. They are super slow. It takes hours for anything to get done. We had to wait 4 hours for extra towels.

Room Tip: write in advance to get a higher floor, this might help with the smell
