Warm, friendly welcome and drink on arrival.
Checked in quickly.
Delighted in the attractive entrance lobby. Beautiful grounds.

Cannot find fault with the food. Various egg dishes cooked fresh at breakfast. Same with Pasta dishes at lunch/evening. Staff friendly and keen to please.

Stylish nightclub. (Non smoking) Enjoyed the African Night, forgot about the Moroccan night. We were eating in the Moroccan themed restaurant then walked around the grounds and only caught the final 5 minutes.

Entertainment team work hard organising games and entertainment. Not for me, but good for those who like to take part.

What I, personally didn’t like:

Zanzibar Lounge – Far too many smokers, so choice was lobby or room.
Smokers used the central inner-stairwell between rooms. The smoke seeped into our room, horrendous, especially at night.
Steps and more steps, down into the nightclub. I couldn’t see any other disabled access. (Shows take place here). Remainder of hotel, good access.

What I liked:

Spacious room. Comfortable bed.
“1001 Nights,” Moroccan themed restaurant. Delicious food. Loved the decor. Makes a refreshing change – no surcharge.

Thomson Rep: Paul – full of information. A cheeky joke and is friendly and helpful.

I nearly said no to this hotel as I wanted to be in the centre of Marrakech. Glad I didn’t. It’s a good base to relax. Only used shuttle bus once, no problem but preferred to use a taxi, walked to the road entrance of hotel where we haggled our price with a petite taxi. For our return haggled again and just laughed at some of the quoted prices and got a better deal.

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room facing gardens. Only noise we encountered were people from England bangin...

Just back from pre Christmas break at Riu Tikada Gardens, whilst not perfect, comes close, the grounds are absolutely immaculate, ditto the rooms. Staff generally all friendly and helpful and don't have their hands out all the time like some places we have been to! We did give tips, but not until the end of our stay. Food generally cooked well, sometimes not as hot as it could have been, but not a problem, egg station good, wine drinkable, small moan-no tea making facilities in room, we knew this and took our own kettle etc. No charge for the safe. The 1001 nights restaurant with its small intimate surroundings left us somewhat underwhelmed as it seemed to me to be very similar to the main buffet restaurant. The main pool is not heated so only very brave (or foolish) people ventured there. The indoor pool is OK, but only open for a few hours a day. Going to the souk is not a problem and nobody gives you real hassle, get taxi from hotel for 100 dms( about £8.00) to main square. When you finish, get a Caleche (horse drawn carriage) back, again, do NOT pay more than 100 dms. One guy quoted 250, we just laughed and walked away. To get real bargains, go to the Artisan centre where all the goods are priced, but don't be afraid to haggle a bit.All in all an excellent holiday, and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that isn't on the ground level( you don't get a balcony, just a terrace open...

My husband and I just got back from a holiday in Marakesh. To be honest with you we were a bit disappoined with the city although we've got experience with other countries in Africa and Asia but RIU TEKIDA GARDENS HOTEL made the best of our holiday. The hotel is great, the staff is very friendly and hospitable, the restaurant is perfect - tasty food, great variety, excellent service. Don't forget to tip the waiter and the housekeeper and you will always have a glass of nice wine on your table and a clean room! We were very disappointed with the Medina, So, if you are a shopper, dont't waste your time and money there just go to Mohamed's shop which is right outisde the hotel, on the left and you will find most of the stuff offered in Marakesh at much better price and higher quality! Have a nice time, enjoy your holiday in Marakesh and get plenty of sunshine.

Just returned from a lovely "chill out break" with my husband, spent a week in The Hotel Riu Tikida Garden, returned on 16th December, 2013. The service we received was second to none, the Staff always pleasant and couldn't do enough to help. The food very good, the rooms immaculate. The only down side, only two proffesional acts. other than that lovely Hotel, would highly recommend .Well worth the money!! Did not have to pay for room safe either!!

Room Tip: All rooms very good, as far as I am aware, although would not like ground floor, ( we were on 2nd fl...
