Me and my wife stayed here for a week with my brother and his girlfriend the 2nd weekend in December , we only paid £295 each all inclusive so I wasn't really expecting much however the hotel is very clean the food was good , a bit repetitive and there wasn't much choice but what food was on offer was very good , the staff are really good and are very friendly , we met lots of nice friendly people whilst we were there and had a great time , the rooms are nice and the bars are nice and the grounds of the hotel are also very nice , the pool was freezing when we went but there is an indoor pool you can use , I've stayed in lots of 4star hotels and I would say this is probably a really good 3 star but for the money we paid we really couldn't complain about anything , morocco itself was good and we did a lot of shopping cos everything is just so cheap but it would have to be a really good deal to get me to go back , overall a good week and we did have a great holiday

Good resort. Doubt we would return however. Some major downs worthwhile mentioning that would make us not come back.

First the highlights.
. Staff is great, helpful, friendly.
. Restaurant is superb. Food was wonderful. Lots of local dishes options. Large salad bar. Oils and spices to use. Every night some new dishes. Good breakfast. Fresh squeezed orange juice aplenty. Excellent food all around.
. Lovely grounds. We loved the large garden setting and the plants and birds in it. Peaceful.
. Indoor pool was OK. We made use of it every day.

Now the disappointments / absurdities.
.The pool (the main feature of the resort / main attraction / reason people book the resort I understand from talking to others) was unusable. While large and nice to look at and surrounded by tempting loungers, it was empty. Cold as ice and not maintained in the winter (we tried it once and it was freezing, and we are not fussy!) Not a pool to use from about Oct to May. Why they don't heat the water as it is the main draw for lots of visitors (esp in the winter months), the main feature of the grounds and as there is very little else to do at the resort itself, we simply don't understand!
.The 'free' shuttle. What a joke. It drops you 20 mins away from the entrance of the old medina when you have to walk along dusty polutted busy 4 lane road among 'modern' developments (ie ugly and unpleasant long walk) that by the time you even reach the square of the old medina you are annoyed and exhausted. Why? Why bother with the shuttle and not take people where everyone wants to go? If the taxis and cars and other buses can drive straight to the wall of the old medina and the square (there is a normal road that leads there)...why drop people off at such hideous place and at such distance? It makes no sense. We can only speculate that it is done to encourage people to skip the shuttle and actually take the private taxis (which are conveniently parked right at the hotel entrance?!) to support the local economy. There just can't be any other reason for it. Anyhow, forget the useless shuttle and save yourselves some lungs and time and take a taxi straight away. We ended up spending about 10 Euro a journey every day we were there to get to the old town (old medina). It was worth it of course and we enjoyed the old town but so much for 'complementary / free' shuttle. What a joke.
. We are not clean freaks, but some improvements can be made to the tidy-ness and cleanliness of the place (grounds, lounge areas, rooms). We will not list examples but it was not perfect. We will leave it at that.
. There is noise across the walls no matter what. If you are a light sleeper bring earplugs. No insulation, stone floors, sounds that carry (ie furniture moving next door at 1 AM does wake you up) and even though we had a top (3rd) floor room the noises next door door resonate enough to make it noticeable / bothersome (if other people's noise bothers you that is).

Overall, depending what you are looking for of course, it is a decent enough a resort in the middle of a busy dusty jungle but not good / appealing enough for us to return.

We booked this hotel through their website before we left the UK. The good reviews we read were spot on. We spent three nights then moved to a sister hotel not far off. It was a good move because it gave us a better perspective of how really good RTG, the staff and services are. Needless to say we moved back to RTG the next morning. One of the best xmas night we ever had. Thanks guys for putting on a show in presentation and food quality. Amazing!
Thanks to the entire entertainment crew for looking after the kids and parents alike. Thank you for your effort to communicate in English as well.
For anyone reading this review because they're planning a trip to marrakesh, my advise is, your chaces of disappointment with RTG is near nil.

Honestly THE best holiday I have ever been on!
Me, my partner, my dad and sister spent a week there and was gutted when we had to come home.
The hotel is absolutely stunning, the food is great and the people that work there go above and beyond to help you out.
I have recommended this holiday to all my family and friends and I'm sure I'll be back there again soon!!

One thing I will advise, watch out for the crafty guy in the hotel lobby that takes your bags, it's not free for that service and he will ask for a tip also at the airport people try to take your bags off you to carry to your coach and will also try get money out of you!

I could not believe some of the reviews! Were these people staying at the the Tikida Gardens!
It is cold in the mornings and evenings in Marocco during the winter months and can be chilly during the day if it is dull. We have been to the hotel several times before and honestly didn't expect the weather to be great. in December! The warm welcome we received at reception certainly made up for the area being cold. Some rooms are somewhat tired but refurbisment is ongoing. I wonder what some people expect for the price they pay for a holiday. Our son who is in the travel industry and has travelled and reveiwed hotels all over the world, I knew would give an unbiased opinion of the Tikida Gardens only because he could not understand why we went back at every opportunity! His only complaint was that he had to wait for an ironing board to be taken to his room! He commented on the quality and service of the staff - from the management down to the cleaners. He found the food and the service in the restaurant to be well above average (and judging by the amount he ate he thoroughly enjoyed it). We are going back to in June and look forward to seeing all the staff and management again and enjoy the delights of magical Marrakech and the Tikida Gardens.

Room Tip: We have always chosen a second floor room and not been disappointed.
