Stayed for a week in June. Good first impression with a small buffet being left even though we arrived at midnight.
Room was immaculate and nice décor. everything you would expect. Comfy bed and great black out curtains, I slept well!
Restaurant has a decent selection both dinner and breakfast plenty for a week. Food is kept very fresh and tables clean, Service was good. Went to the Moroccan restaurant once but wasn't impressed, preferred the selection in the main.
Enough sunbeds but shade was at a premium. Pool area was pleasant and gardens nice.
The bar was inside, great cocktails and friendly service without many queues, small snacks such as popcorn an olives served. Would of been nice to have an outside bar.
Enjoyed the singer that they had on some nights in bar. Entertainment team wasn't my thing but they left the bar open late and put football on big screen for England game.

Beautiful hotel, set in extensive manicured gardens. Large, cool marble reception/hallway.
Lasting impressions of the entire staff, who go over and above to ensure your stay is enjoyable and comfortable.
The all-inclusive food is delicious, freshly-prepared, and constantly varied. For myself as a vegetarian, I had ample options.
Comfortable and spacious room, with perfectly-set air con. Free wi-fi is temperamental, works better in ground areas and non-peak usage times.
Don't listen to those who praise Mohammed's shop just outside the hotel…it really isn't worth the walk for a warm can of Coke and very little else!
Make the effort, head for the Souk…dress respecting the culture, just say "la shukran" (no thank you) if you are not interested in someone's wares, and enjoy immersing yourself in a Moroccan tradition. Don't worry about getting lost…there is literally light at the end of every tunnel, which leads you back to the Square! When you are tired of bargaining, head for a cafe roof terrace to partake in mint tea, and admire the views, sights and sounds. Most of them have wi-fi too.
Didn't sample the spa at hotel, but looked good. Would also have been a great idea to have a massage area poolside, for a relaxing 20 mins session between sunbathing :)
My first RIU hotel, definitely not my last!

Room Tip: Ground floor for marginally better chance of wi-fi

Travelled in May with partner and 4 children under age of 12.
Was a bit nervous as I had actually wanted to book the Tikida Palmerie. Turns out though that Tikida gardens is nearer to the city centre so that was a result for us! "BIg" taxis are about 100 dhms and small ones about 50dhms
Transfer time is less than 30 mins from airport. Was impressed that when we arrived at past 10pm, we had a welcome drink and they ushered us directly into the restaurant and had kept food service going so the children could eat.
We had two rooms next to each other on the ground floor so the kids could play outside together and we could have a drink in the evenings. I was really pleased that they gave us these rooms and they were beautifully decorated. The reception staff are so friendly and kind, totally impressed with the customer service.

Pool is a bit cold and we had to get the children water shoes as all the children were cutting their feet on the tiles, which wasn't nice. They were in there ALL day. Kids club come round to collect children which is quite a nice way of doing it so you dont feel you are leaving them somewhere and it is quite relaxed. You can always get a sunbed!!! AMAZING!! They have a 7.30 rule, that a few people broke for laying out towels but whatever time you get here you will get one, might not be right on the pool edge but still.

I did get rather fed up with the entertainments team constantly coming round high fiving, that said they work really really long days and put in enthusiasm so Im just being a grumpy old woman. There is aerobics in the pool every morning and water polo in the afternoon. Other facilities my kids have youtube videoed. Badly.

Evening entertainment, pretty poor really, karaoke and some weird cross dressing thing. We didnt bother except for the kids going to the kids disco at 8-8.30pm

Food:- I was really happy with the food. I had some excellent meals (for this type of mass catering) and my children always ate. Which is what you want really!! Chef is always there so you can approach him and ask. No upset tummies at all, which was not what I was expecting either!
Breakfast: Freshly made omlettes to order, boiled eggs, fried eggs, bacon (not the same as UK but nice) sausages, fresh fruit, fresh pancakes, continental breakfast items, fresh squeezed oj etc etc. Its really good. Served until about 10, if you miss this there is continental breakfast available in the pool restaurant until 12.

Lunch: Pool restaurant, loads of salads, meatballs, pasta, tomato sauce, burgers, pizzas, ciabattas, chips, fruit, pistachio ice cream (my fav!), the most amazing watermelon ever and a really lovely fresh selection.

Dinner:- Always pasta, pizza, salad and a morroccan dish, cous cous and tagine. Other nights also steak, lasagne, chinese, rice, potatos etc. I think if you cant find anything to eat then you are being rather dramatic. Same for the people who say it is boring. Id rather take "boring" and no illness and kids eating than exciting not knowing what you will get!

We didnt take the shuttle bus, basically as it drops you in the new part of Marrakech with about a 30-40min walk.

In general I actually think I would go back to this hotel, I was pleasantly surprised as it exceeded my expectations and then some.

Tips: Take water shoes for the children
Everyone drinks mojitos and cocktails as they are lovely and included in the price.

We stayed here for 10 days on a family holiday and there were some pros, the staff are lovely (with the exception of a few miserable bar men) the animation team are lots of fun and the pool is lovely. Now onto the negatives, the air con is virtually none existent, being in such a hot country you would think this would be important but even the main areas are very poorly air conditioned. The wifi is terrible, don't advertise it if you can't provide it. The food was very samey and boring, I have a wide palate and will eat most things but even I was getting bored and all the alcoholic drinks are massively watered down. The entertainment is dire with the exception of the African Show which was amazing and the hotel is looking very tired in parts. Now this wouldn't have all been the end of the world if you were able to go out and about but the only way I can describe the location of the hotel is like being in the middle of Beirut. The hotel suggested we get the shuttle to the new town which dropped you off nowhere near the actual area. Unfortunately we were there during Ramadan so there was very little open in the new town but the sky bar is amazing for views and you can actually get a drink with some alcohol in it!!! The city itself is very dirty, I was very upset by the way the animals are treated including leaving a dead horse in the middle of the road! The local people will only help or give directions if you give them money. There are some good trips (quad biking in the desert was great) but be prepared to take a lot of extra money as the hotel walls will be closing in on you by about day 3. If you fancy Morocco we were told Agidir is a much better place to stay as it's more cosmopolitan and caters for different nationalities. Would not return.

The hotel is clean and friendly with big rooms. The food is lovely - esp the salads. The shuttle bus was very busy. Its recommended that you get taxis rather than the free shuttle bus. The bus drops you out of town and its a long walk from there. The town is manic and warm - take a bottle or two of water! The pool was lovely and clean but the beds are far too close together. I didn't feel comfortable almost sitting on someone elses lap! The bar inside is a little odd. Its very quiet and can get a little boring. There are seats outside that are a bit better. Another bar is needed or they should open the pool side bar for a little longer. The cleaners are fab. Always clean sheets and sometimes some towel art. Just a warning though - make sure you have your Do Not Disturb sign on the door otherwise they just clean around you! I woke up to a maid next me! The entertainment team were annoying after a while. It was hard to read your book when they were high fiving you all the time. They were really sweet but annoying!

My daughter and I stayed at the Riu Tikida Garden in Marrakech for a week as a 21st birthday treat for her. We loved it from the moment we arrived, to the sad moment it was time to leave. The staff were brilliant, and our rep, Elias, was extremely friendly and helpful. We spent a half day quad biking from early morning so it wasn't TOO hot, where we called at a locals farm and had refreshments. Great! The souks at night were buzzing, with Jmaa el Fna square being especially vibrant! The pool area was great, the animation team were very friendly and we were very satisfied with our room and the cleanliness. We would definitely go back. In fact I would go tomorrow if I could!

Room Tip: 2nd or 3rd floor room. You get the sun on your balcony!

The free shuttle bus is nearly useless as it does not drop you off where all the other shuttle buses go ie the Main Square in the Medina. This forces you to take taxis and the hassle is barely worth it.

However the hotel and food was excellent and the staff very friendly.

Room Tip: Our ground floor room was excellent.
